ਆਤਮੁ ਜਿਤਾ ਗੁਰਮਤੀ ਆਗੰਜਤ ਪਾਗਾ ॥
Āṯam jiṯā gurmaṯī āganjaṯ pāgā.
He conquers his soul, following the Guru's Teachings, and attains the Imperishable Lord.

ਜਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਇਆ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਸੋ ਕਲਿ ਮਹਿ ਤਾਗਾ ॥
Jisahi ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā pārbarahm so kal mėh ṯāgā.
He alone keeps up in this Dark Age of Kali Yuga, who meditates on the Supreme Lord God.

ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਮਜਨਾਗਾ ॥
Sāḏẖū sangaṯ nirmalā aṯẖsaṯẖ majnāgā.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he is immaculate, as if he has bathed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage.

ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਸੋ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਸਭਾਗਾ ॥
Jis parabẖ mili▫ā āpṇā so purakẖ sabẖāgā.
He alone is a man of good fortune, who has met with God.

ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰਣੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਵਡ ਭਾਗਾ ॥੧੭॥
Nānak ṯis balihārṇai jis evad bẖāgā. ||17||
Nanak is a sacrifice to such a one, whose destiny is so great! ||17||

Shalok, Fifth Mehl:

ਜਾਂ ਪਿਰੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਤਾਂ ਧਨ ਬਾਹਰਿ ॥
Jāʼn pir anḏar ṯāʼn ḏẖan bāhar.
When the Husband Lord is within the heart, then Maya, the bride, goes outside.

ਜਾਂ ਪਿਰੁ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਤਾਂ ਧਨ ਮਾਹਰਿ ॥
Jāʼn pir bāhar ṯāʼn ḏẖan māhar.
When one's Husband Lord is outside of oneself, then Maya, the bride, is supreme.

ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਬਹੁ ਫੇਰ ਫਿਰਾਹਰਿ ॥
Bin nāvai baho fer firāhar.
Without the Name, one wanders all around.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੰਗਿ ਦਿਖਾਇਆ ਜਾਹਰਿ ॥
Saṯgur sang ḏikẖā▫i▫ā jāhar.
The True Guru shows us that the Lord is with us.
|
ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਿ ਸਮਾਹਰਿ ॥੧॥
Jan Nānak sacẖe sacẖ samāhar. ||1||
Servant Nanak merges in the Truest of the True. ||1||

ਆਹਰ ਸਭਿ ਕਰਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਆਹਰੁ ਇਕੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥
Āhar sabẖ karḏā firai āhar ik na ho▫e.
Making all sorts of efforts, they wander around; but they do not make even one effort.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਤੁ ਆਹਰਿ ਜਗੁ ਉਧਰੈ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋਇ ॥੨॥
Nānak jiṯ āhar jag uḏẖrai virlā būjẖai ko▫e. ||2||
O Nanak, how rare are those who understand the effort which saves the world. ||2||

ਵਡੀ ਹੂ ਵਡਾ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਮਰਤਬਾ ॥
vadī hū vadā apār ṯerā marṯabā.
The greatest of the great, infinite is Your dignity.

ਰੰਗ ਪਰੰਗ ਅਨੇਕ ਨ ਜਾਪਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਕਰਤਬਾ ॥
Rang parang anek na jāpniĥ karṯabā.
Your colors and hues are so numerous; no one can know Your actions.
|
ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਜਾਣਲਾ ॥
Jī▫ā anḏar jī▫o sabẖ kicẖẖ jāṇlā.
You are the Soul within all souls; You alone know everything.
|
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰੈ ਵਸਿ ਤੇਰਾ ਘਰੁ ਭਲਾ ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯerai vas ṯerā gẖar bẖalā.
Everything is under Your control; Your home is beautiful.

ਤੇਰੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਨੰਦੁ ਵਧਾਈ ਤੁਧੁ ਘਰਿ ॥
Ŧerai gẖar ānanḏ vaḏẖā▫ī ṯuḏẖ gẖar.
Your home is filled with bliss, which resonates and resounds throughout Your home.

ਮਾਣੁ ਮਹਤਾ ਤੇਜੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਪਿ ਜਰਿ ॥
Māṇ mahṯā ṯej āpṇā āp jar.
Your honor, majesty and glory are Yours alone.
|
ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਭਰਪੂਰੁ ਦਿਸੈ ਜਤ ਕਤਾ ॥
Sarab kalā bẖarpūr ḏisai jaṯ kaṯā.
You are overflowing with all powers; wherever we look, there You are.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਗੈ ਬਿਨਵਤਾ ॥੧੮॥
Nānak ḏāsan ḏās ṯuḏẖ āgai binvaṯā. ||18||
Nanak, the slave of Your slaves, prays to You alone. ||18||

ਛਤੜੇ ਬਾਜਾਰ ਸੋਹਨਿ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਪਾਰੀਏ ॥
Cẖẖaṯ▫ṛe bājār sohan vicẖ vapārī▫ai.
Your streets are covered with canopies; under them, the traders look beautiful.

ਵਖਰੁ ਹਿਕੁ ਅਪਾਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਖਟੇ ਸੋ ਧਣੀ ॥੧॥
vakẖar hik apār Nānak kẖate so ḏẖaṇī. ||1||
O Nanak, he alone is truly a banker, who buys the infinite commodity. ||1||

ਕਬੀਰਾ ਹਮਰਾ ਕੋ ਨਹੀ ਹਮ ਕਿਸ ਹੂ ਕੇ ਨਾਹਿ ॥
Kabīrā hamrā ko nahī ham kis hū ke nāhi.
Kabeer, no one is mine, and I belong to no one.

ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹੁ ਰਚਨੁ ਰਚਾਇਆ ਤਿਸ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹਿ ॥੨॥
Jin ih racẖan racẖā▫i▫ā ṯis hī māhi samāhi. ||2||
I am absorbed in the One, who created this creation. ||2||

ਸਫਲਿਉ ਬਿਰਖੁ ਸੁਹਾਵੜਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਫਲ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਾ ॥
Safli▫o birakẖ suhāvṛā har safal amriṯā.
The Lord is the most beautiful fruit tree, bearing fruits of Ambrosial Nectar.

ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚੈ ਉਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਮਿਲਣ ਕਉ ਕਿਉ ਵੰਞੈ ਘਿਤਾ ॥
Man locẖai unĥ milaṇ ka▫o ki▫o vañai gẖiṯā.
My mind longs to meet Him; how can I ever find Him?
|
ਵਰਨਾ ਚਿਹਨਾ ਬਾਹਰਾ ਓਹੁ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਜਿਤਾ ॥
varnā cẖihnā bāhrā oh agam ajiṯā.
He has no color or form; He is inaccessible and unconquerable.
|
ਓਹੁ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਜੀਅ ਕਾ ਜੋ ਖੋਲ੍ਹ੍ਹੈ ਭਿਤਾ ॥
Oh pi▫ārā jī▫a kā jo kẖolĥai bẖiṯā.
I love Him with all my soul; He opens the door for me.

ਸੇਵਾ ਕਰੀ ਤੁਸਾੜੀਆ ਮੈ ਦਸਿਹੁ ਮਿਤਾ ॥
Sevā karī ṯusāṛī▫ā mai ḏasihu miṯā.
I shall serve you forever, if you tell me of my Friend.
|
ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਵੰਞਾ ਵਾਰਣੈ ਬਲੇ ਬਲਿ ਕਿਤਾ ॥
Kurbāṇī vañā vārṇai bale bal kiṯā.
I am a sacrifice, a dedicated, devoted sacrifice to Him.

ਦਸਨਿ ਸੰਤ ਪਿਆਰਿਆ ਸੁਣਹੁ ਲਾਇ ਚਿਤਾ ॥
Ḏasan sanṯ pi▫āri▫ā suṇhu lā▫e cẖiṯā.
The Beloved Saints tell us, to listen with our consciousness.

ਜਿਸੁ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਉ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦਿਤਾ ॥੧੯॥
Jis likẖi▫ā Nānak ḏās ṯis nā▫o amriṯ saṯgur ḏiṯā. ||19||
One who has such pre-ordained destiny, O slave Nanak, is blessed with the Ambrosial Name by the True Guru. ||19||

ਕਬੀਰ ਧਰਤੀ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਤਸਕਰ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਗਾਹਿ ॥
Kabīr ḏẖarṯī sāḏẖ kī ṯaskar baisėh gāhi.
Kabeer, the earth belongs to the Holy, but the thieves have come and now sit among them.

ਧਰਤੀ ਭਾਰਿ ਨ ਬਿਆਪਈ ਉਨ ਕਉ ਲਾਹੂ ਲਾਹਿ ॥੧॥
Ḏẖarṯī bẖār na bi▫āpa▫ī un ka▫o lāhū lāhi. ||1||
The earth does not feel their weight; even they profit. ||1||
|
ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Mėhlā 5.
Fifth Mehl:

ਕਬੀਰ ਚਾਵਲ ਕਾਰਣੇ ਤੁਖ ਕਉ ਮੁਹਲੀ ਲਾਇ ॥
Kabīr cẖāval kārṇe ṯukẖ ka▫o muhlī lā▫e.
Kabeer, for the sake of the rice, the husks are beaten and threshed.

ਸੰਗਿ ਕੁਸੰਗੀ ਬੈਸਤੇ ਤਬ ਪੂਛੇ ਧਰਮ ਰਾਇ ॥੨॥
Sang kusangī baisṯe ṯab pūcẖẖe ḏẖaram rā▫e. ||2||
When one sits in the company of evil people, then he will be called to account by the Righteous Judge of Dharma. ||2||

ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਵਡ ਪਰਵਾਰੁ ਆਪਿ ਇਕਾਤੀਆ ॥
Āpe hī vad parvār āp ikāṯī▫ā.
He Himself has the greatest family; He Himself is all alone.
|
ਆਪਣੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਆਪਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਜਾਤੀਆ ॥
Āpṇī kīmaṯ āp āpe hī jāṯī▫ā.
He alone knows His own worth.
|
ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਉਪੰਨਿਆ ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ āpe āp āp upanni▫ā.
He Himself, by Himself, created everything.
|
ਆਪਣਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਰੰਨਿਆ ॥
Āpṇā kīṯā āp āp varanni▫ā.
Only He Himself can describe His own creation.
|
ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਥਾਨੁ ਜਿਥੈ ਤੂ ਵੁਠਾ ॥
Ḏẖan so ṯerā thān jithai ṯū vuṯẖā.
Blessed is Your place, where You dwell, Lord.
