ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਬਿਸਨੁ ਮਹੇਸ ਇਕ ਮੂਰਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੨॥
ब्रहमा बिसनु महेस इक मूरति आपे करता कारी ॥१२॥
Barahmā bisan mahes ik mūraṯ āpe karṯā kārī. ||12||
Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva are manifestations of the One God. He Himself is the Doer of deeds. ||12||

ਕਾਇਆ ਸੋਧਿ ਤਰੈ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਆਤਮ ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੩॥
काइआ सोधि तरै भव सागरु आतम ततु वीचारी ॥१३॥
Kā▫i▫ā soḏẖ ṯarai bẖav sāgar āṯam ṯaṯ vīcẖārī. ||13||
One who purifies his body, crosses over the terrifying world-ocean; he contemplates the essence of his own soul. ||13||

ਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਾ ਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਰਵਿਆ ਗੁਣਕਾਰੀ ॥੧੪॥
गुर सेवा ते सदा सुखु पाइआ अंतरि सबदु रविआ गुणकारी ॥१४॥
Gur sevā ṯe saḏā sukẖ pā▫i▫ā anṯar sabaḏ ravi▫ā guṇkārī. ||14||
Serving the Guru, he finds everlasting peace; deep within, the Shabad permeates him, coloring him with virtue. ||14||

ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਗੁਣਦਾਤਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਮਾਰੀ ॥੧੫॥
आपे मेलि लए गुणदाता हउमै त्रिसना मारी ॥१५॥
Āpe mel la▫e guṇḏāṯā ha▫umai ṯarisnā mārī. ||15||
The Giver of virtue unites with Himself, one who conquers egotism and desire. ||15||

ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਮੇਟੇ ਚਉਥੈ ਵਰਤੈ ਏਹਾ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਿਰਾਰੀ ॥੧੬॥
त्रै गुण मेटे चउथै वरतै एहा भगति निरारी ॥१६॥
Ŧarai guṇ mete cẖa▫uthai varṯai ehā bẖagaṯ nirārī. ||16||
Eradicating the three qualities, dwell in the fourth state. This is the unparalleled devotional worship. ||16||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੋਗ ਸਬਦਿ ਆਤਮੁ ਚੀਨੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੧੭॥
गुरमुखि जोग सबदि आतमु चीनै हिरदै एकु मुरारी ॥१७॥
Gurmukẖ jog sabaḏ āṯam cẖīnai hirḏai ek murārī. ||17||
This is the Yoga of the Gurmukh: Through the Shabad, he understands his own soul, and he enshrines within his heart the One Lord. ||17||

ਮਨੂਆ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਸਬਦੇ ਰਾਤਾ ਏਹਾ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥੧੮॥
मनूआ असथिरु सबदे राता एहा करणी सारी ॥१८॥
Manū▫ā asthir sabḏe rāṯā ehā karṇī sārī. ||18||
Imbued with the Shabad, his mind becomes steady and stable; this is the most excellent action. ||18||

ਬੇਦੁ ਬਾਦੁ ਨ ਪਾਖੰਡੁ ਅਉਧੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧੯॥
बेदु बादु न पाखंडु अउधू गुरमुखि सबदि बीचारी ॥१९॥
Beḏ bāḏ na pakẖand a▫oḏẖū gurmukẖ sabaḏ bīcẖārī. ||19||
This true hermit does not enter into religious debates or hypocrisy; the Gurmukh contemplates the Shabad. ||19||
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ਅਉਧੂ ਜਤੁ ਸਤੁ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੦॥
गुरमुखि जोगु कमावै अउधू जतु सतु सबदि वीचारी ॥२०॥
Gurmukẖ jog kamāvai a▫oḏẖū jaṯ saṯ sabaḏ vīcẖārī. ||20||
The Gurmukh practices Yoga - he is the true hermit; he practices abstinence and truth, and contemplates the Shabad. ||20||

ਸਬਦਿ ਮਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਰੇ ਅਉਧੂ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੧॥
सबदि मरै मनु मारे अउधू जोग जुगति वीचारी ॥२१॥
Sabaḏ marai man māre a▫oḏẖū jog jugaṯ vīcẖārī. ||21||
One who dies in the Shabad and conquers his mind is the true hermit; he understands the Way of Yoga. ||21||

ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹੁ ਭਵਜਲੁ ਹੈ ਅਵਧੂ ਸਬਦਿ ਤਰੈ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੀ ॥੨੨॥
माइआ मोहु भवजलु है अवधू सबदि तरै कुल तारी ॥२२॥
Mā▫i▫ā moh bẖavjal hai avḏẖū sabaḏ ṯarai kul ṯārī. ||22||
Attachment to Maya is the terrifying world-ocean; through the Shabad, the true hermit saves himself, and his ancestors as well. ||22||

ਸਬਦਿ ਸੂਰ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰੇ ਅਉਧੂ ਬਾਣੀ ਭਗਤਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੩॥
सबदि सूर जुग चारे अउधू बाणी भगति वीचारी ॥२३॥
Sabaḏ sūr jug cẖāre a▫oḏẖū baṇī bẖagaṯ vīcẖārī. ||23||
Contemplating the Shabad, you shall be a hero throughout the four ages, O hermit; contemplate the Word of the Guru's Bani in devotion. ||23||

ਏਹੁ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿਆ ਅਉਧੂ ਨਿਕਸੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੨੪॥
एहु मनु माइआ मोहिआ अउधू निकसै सबदि वीचारी ॥२४॥
Ėhu man mā▫i▫ā mohi▫ā a▫oḏẖū niksai sabaḏ vīcẖārī. ||24||
This mind is enticed by Maya, O hermit; contemplating the Shabad, you shall find release. ||24||

ਆਪੇ ਬਖਸੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥੨੫॥੯॥
आपे बखसे मेलि मिलाए नानक सरणि तुमारी ॥२५॥९॥
Āpe bakẖse mel milā▫e Nānak saraṇ ṯumārī. ||25||9||
He Himself forgives, and unites in His Union; Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary, Lord. ||25||9||

ਸਰਮੈ ਦੀਆ ਮੁੰਦ੍ਰਾ ਕੰਨੀ ਪਾਇ ਜੋਗੀ ਖਿੰਥਾ ਕਰਿ ਤੂ ਦਇਆ ॥
सरमै दीआ मुंद्रा कंनी पाइ जोगी खिंथा करि तू दइआ ॥
Sarmai ḏī▫ā munḏrā kannī pā▫e jogī kẖinthā kar ṯū ḏa▫i▫ā.
Make humility your ear-rings, Yogi, and compassion your patched coat.

ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣੁ ਬਿਭੂਤਿ ਲਾਇ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਾ ਤੀਨਿ ਭਵਣ ਜਿਣਿ ਲਇਆ ॥੧॥
आवणु जाणु बिभूति लाइ जोगी ता तीनि भवण जिणि लइआ ॥१॥
Āvaṇ jāṇ bibẖūṯ lā▫e jogī ṯā ṯīn bẖavaṇ jiṇ la▫i▫ā. ||1||
Let coming and going be the ashes you apply to your body, Yogi, and then you shall conquer the three worlds. ||1||

ਐਸੀ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਵਜਾਇ ਜੋਗੀ ॥
ऐसी किंगुरी वजाइ जोगी ॥
Aisī kingurī vajā▫e jogī.
Play that harp, Yogi,

ਜਿਤੁ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਹੈ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जितु किंगुरी अनहदु वाजै हरि सिउ रहै लिव लाइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jiṯ kingurī anhaḏ vājai har si▫o rahai liv lā▫e. ||1|| rahā▫o.
which vibrates the unstruck sound current, and remain lovingly absorbed in the Lord. ||1||Pause||

ਸਤੁ ਸੰਤੋਖੁ ਪਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਝੋਲੀ ਜੋਗੀ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
सतु संतोखु पतु करि झोली जोगी अम्रित नामु भुगति पाई ॥
Saṯ sanṯokẖ paṯ kar jẖolī jogī amriṯ nām bẖugaṯ pā▫ī.
Make truth and contentment your plate and pouch, Yogi; take the Ambrosial Naam as your food.

ਧਿਆਨ ਕਾ ਕਰਿ ਡੰਡਾ ਜੋਗੀ ਸਿੰਙੀ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਵਜਾਈ ॥੨॥
धिआन का करि डंडा जोगी सिंङी सुरति वजाई ॥२॥
Ḏẖi▫ān kā kar dandā jogī sińī suraṯ vajā▫ī. ||2||
Make meditation your walking stick, Yogi, and make higher consciousness the horn you blow. ||2||
|
ਮਨੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜੁ ਕਰਿ ਆਸਣਿ ਬੈਸੁ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਾ ਤੇਰੀ ਕਲਪਣਾ ਜਾਈ ॥
मनु द्रिड़ु करि आसणि बैसु जोगी ता तेरी कलपणा जाई ॥
Man ḏariṛ kar āsaṇ bais jogī ṯā ṯerī kalpaṇā jā▫ī.
Make your stable mind the Yogic posture you sit in, Yogi, and then you shall be rid of your tormenting desires.

ਕਾਇਆ ਨਗਰੀ ਮਹਿ ਮੰਗਣਿ ਚੜਹਿ ਜੋਗੀ ਤਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਈ ॥੩॥
काइआ नगरी महि मंगणि चड़हि जोगी ता नामु पलै पाई ॥३॥
Kā▫i▫ā nagrī mėh mangaṇ cẖaṛėh jogī ṯā nām palai pā▫ī. ||3||
Go begging in the village of the body, Yogi, and then, you shall obtain the Naam in your lap. ||3||
|
ਇਤੁ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਨਾ ਸਚੁ ਪਲੈ ਪਾਇ ॥
इतु किंगुरी धिआनु न लागै जोगी ना सचु पलै पाइ ॥
Iṯ kingurī ḏẖi▫ān na lāgai jogī nā sacẖ palai pā▫e.
This harp does not center you in meditation, Yogi, nor does it bring the True Name into your lap.

ਇਤੁ ਕਿੰਗੁਰੀ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜੋਗੀ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ਨ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੪॥
इतु किंगुरी सांति न आवै जोगी अभिमानु न विचहु जाइ ॥४॥
Iṯ kingurī sāʼnṯ na āvai jogī abẖimān na vicẖahu jā▫e. ||4||
This harp does not bring you peace, Yogi, nor eliminate egotism from within you. ||4||
|
ਭਉ ਭਾਉ ਦੁਇ ਪਤ ਲਾਇ ਜੋਗੀ ਇਹੁ ਸਰੀਰੁ ਕਰਿ ਡੰਡੀ ॥
भउ भाउ दुइ पत लाइ जोगी इहु सरीरु करि डंडी ॥
Bẖa▫o bẖā▫o ḏu▫e paṯ lā▫e jogī ih sarīr kar dandī.
Make the Fear of God, and the Love of God, the two gourds of your lute, Yogi, and make this body its neck.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਤੰਤੀ ਵਾਜੈ ਇਨ ਬਿਧਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਖੰਡੀ ॥੫॥
गुरमुखि होवहि ता तंती वाजै इन बिधि त्रिसना खंडी ॥५॥
Gurmukẖ hovėh ṯā ṯanṯī vājai in biḏẖ ṯarisnā kẖandī. ||5||
Become Gurmukh, and then vibrate the strings; in this way, your desires shall depart. ||5||
|
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੁਝੈ ਸੋ ਜੋਗੀ ਕਹੀਐ ਏਕਸ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਏ ॥
हुकमु बुझै सो जोगी कहीऐ एकस सिउ चितु लाए ॥
Hukam bujẖai so jogī kahī▫ai ekas si▫o cẖiṯ lā▫e.
One who understands the Hukam of the Lord's Command is called a Yogi; he links his consciousness to the One Lord.

ਸਹਸਾ ਤੂਟੈ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਇਵ ਪਾਏ ॥੬॥
सहसा तूटै निरमलु होवै जोग जुगति इव पाए ॥६॥
Sahsā ṯūtai nirmal hovai jog jugaṯ iv pā▫e. ||6||
His cynicism is dispelled, and he becomes immaculately pure; this is how he finds the Way of Yoga. ||6||
|
ਨਦਰੀ ਆਵਦਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਬਿਨਸੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
नदरी आवदा सभु किछु बिनसै हरि सेती चितु लाइ ॥
Naḏrī āvḏā sabẖ kicẖẖ binsai har seṯī cẖiṯ lā▫e.
Everything that comes into view shall be destroyed; focus your consciousness on the Lord.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਭਾਵਨੀ ਲਾਗੈ ਤਾ ਇਹ ਸੋਝੀ ਪਾਇ ॥੭॥
सतिगुर नालि तेरी भावनी लागै ता इह सोझी पाइ ॥७॥
Saṯgur nāl ṯerī bẖāvnī lāgai ṯā ih sojẖī pā▫e. ||7||
Enshrine love for the True Guru, and then you shall obtain this understanding. ||7||
