ਤ੍ਰਿਤੀਅ ਬਿਵਸਥਾ ਸਿੰਚੇ ਮਾਇ ॥
Ŧariṯī▫a bivasthā sincẖe mā▫e.
In the third stage of life, he gathers the wealth of Maya.
|
ਬਿਰਧਿ ਭਇਆ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਲਿਓ ਪਛੁਤਾਇ ॥੨॥
Biraḏẖ bẖa▫i▫ā cẖẖod cẖali▫o pacẖẖuṯā▫e. ||2||
And when he grows old, he must leave all this; he departs regretting and repenting. ||2||
|
ਚਿਰੰਕਾਲ ਪਾਈ ਦ੍ਰੁਲਭ ਦੇਹ ॥
Cẖirankāl pā▫ī ḏarulabẖ ḏeh.
After a very long time, one obtains this precious human body, so difficult to obtain.
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਣੀ ਹੋਈ ਖੇਹ ॥
Nām bihūṇī ho▫ī kẖeh.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, it is reduced to dust.
|
ਪਸੂ ਪਰੇਤ ਮੁਗਧ ਤੇ ਬੁਰੀ ॥
Pasū pareṯ mugaḏẖ ṯe burī.
Worse than a beast, a demon or an idiot,
|
ਤਿਸਹਿ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਜਿਨਿ ਏਹ ਸਿਰੀ ॥੩॥
Ŧisėh na būjẖai jin eh sirī. ||3||
is that one who does not understand who created him. ||3||
|
ਸੁਣਿ ਕਰਤਾਰ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
Suṇ karṯār govinḏ gopāl.
Listen, O Creator Lord, Lord of the Universe, Lord of the World,
|
ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਸਦਾ ਕਿਰਪਾਲ ॥
Ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl saḏā kirpāl.
Merciful to the meek, forever compassionate -
|
ਤੁਮਹਿ ਛਡਾਵਹੁ ਛੁਟਕਹਿ ਬੰਧ ॥
Ŧumėh cẖẖadāvahu cẖẖutkahi banḏẖ.
If You emancipate the human, then his bonds are broken.
|
ਬਖਸਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਜਗ ਅੰਧ ॥੪॥੧੨॥੨੩॥
Bakẖas milāvhu Nānak jag anḏẖ. ||4||12||23||
O Nanak, the people of world are blind; please, Lord, forgive them, and unite them with Yourself. ||4||12||23||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Rāmkalī mėhlā 5.
Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਕਰਿ ਸੰਜੋਗੁ ਬਨਾਈ ਕਾਛਿ ॥
Kar sanjog banā▫ī kācẖẖ.
Joining the elements together, the robe of the body is fashioned.
|
ਤਿਸੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਇਆਨਾ ਰਾਚਿ ॥
Ŧis sang rahi▫o i▫ānā rācẖ.
The ignorant fool is engrossed in it.
|
ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਰੈ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਰਿ ਸਮਾਰੈ ॥
Parṯipārai niṯ sār samārai.
He cherishes it, and constantly takes care of it.
|
ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਬਾਰ ਊਠਿ ਸਿਧਾਰੈ ॥੧॥
Anṯ kī bār ūṯẖ siḏẖārai. ||1||
But at the very last moment, he must arise and depart. ||1||
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਸਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥
Nām binā sabẖ jẖūṯẖ parānī.
Without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, everything is false, O mortal.
|
ਗੋਵਿਦ ਭਜਨ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤੇ ਸਭਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਮੂਠੁ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Goviḏ bẖajan bin avar sang rāṯe ṯe sabẖ mā▫i▫ā mūṯẖ parānī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Those who do not vibrate and meditate on the Lord of the Universe, but instead are imbued with other things, - all those mortals are plundered by Maya. ||1||Pause||
|
ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਇ ਨ ਉਤਰਸਿ ਮੈਲੁ ॥
Ŧirath nā▫e na uṯras mail.
Bathing at sacred shrines of pilgrimage, filth is not washed off.
|
ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਭਿ ਹਉਮੈ ਫੈਲੁ ॥
Karam ḏẖaram sabẖ ha▫umai fail.
Religious rituals are all just egotistical displays.
|
ਲੋਕ ਪਚਾਰੈ ਗਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
Lok pacẖārai gaṯ nahī ho▫e.
By pleasing and appeasing people, no one is saved.
|
ਨਾਮ ਬਿਹੂਣੇ ਚਲਸਹਿ ਰੋਇ ॥੨॥
Nām bihūṇe cẖalsahi ro▫e. ||2||
Without the Naam, they shall depart weeping. ||2||
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਟੂਟਸਿ ਪਟਲ ॥
Bin har nām na tūtas patal.
Without the Lord's Name, the screen is not torn away.
|
ਸੋਧੇ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਿਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਸਗਲ ॥
Soḏẖe sāsṯar simriṯ sagal.
I have studied all the Shaastras and Simritees.
|
ਸੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਏ ॥
So nām japai jis āp japā▫e.
He alone chants the Naam, whom the Lord Himself inspires to chant.
|
ਸਗਲ ਫਲਾ ਸੇ ਸੂਖਿ ਸਮਾਏ ॥੩॥
Sagal falā se sūkẖ samā▫e. ||3||
He obtains all fruits and rewards, and merges in peace. ||3||
|
ਰਾਖਨਹਾਰੇ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਆਪਿ ॥
Rākẖanhāre rākẖo āp.
O Savior Lord, please save me!
|
ਸਗਲ ਸੁਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮਰੈ ਹਾਥਿ ॥
Sagal sukẖā parabẖ ṯumrai hāth.
All peace and comforts are in Your Hand, God.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਲਾਵਹਿ ਤਿਤੁ ਲਾਗਹ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
Jiṯ lāvėh ṯiṯ lāgah su▫āmī.
Whatever you attach me to, to that I am attached, O my Lord and Master.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੧੩॥੨੪॥
Nānak sāhib anṯarjāmī. ||4||13||24||
O Nanak, the Lord is the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||13||24||

ਰਾਮਕਲੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥
Rāmkalī mėhlā 5.
Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:
|
ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖੁ ਜਾਨਾ ॥
Jo kicẖẖ karai so▫ī sukẖ jānā.
Whatever He does makes me happy.
|
ਮਨੁ ਅਸਮਝੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਤੀਆਨਾ ॥
Man asmajẖ sāḏẖsang paṯī▫ānā.
The ignorant mind is encouraged, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.
|
ਡੋਲਨ ਤੇ ਚੂਕਾ ਠਹਰਾਇਆ ॥
Dolan ṯe cẖūkā ṯẖėhrā▫i▫ā.
Now, it does not waver at all; it has become stable and steady.
|
ਸਤਿ ਮਾਹਿ ਲੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
Saṯ māhi le saṯ samā▫i▫ā. ||1||
Receiving Truth, it is merged in the True Lord. ||1||
|
ਦੂਖੁ ਗਇਆ ਸਭੁ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ॥
Ḏūkẖ ga▫i▫ā sabẖ rog ga▫i▫ā.
Pain is gone, and all illness is gone.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਆਗਿਆ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਨੀ ਮਹਾ ਪੁਰਖ ਕਾ ਸੰਗੁ ਭਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Parabẖ kī āgi▫ā man mėh mānī mahā purakẖ kā sang bẖa▫i▫ā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
I have accepted the Will of God in my mind, associating with the Great Person, the Guru. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਗਲ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ॥
Sagal paviṯar sarab nirmalā.
All is pure; all is immaculate.
|
ਜੋ ਵਰਤਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਭਲਾ ॥
Jo varṯā▫e so▫ī bẖalā.
Whatever exists is good.
|
ਜਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
Jah rākẖai so▫ī mukaṯ thān.
Wherever He keeps me, that is the place of liberation for me.
|
ਜੋ ਜਪਾਏ ਸੋਈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੨॥
Jo japā▫e so▫ī nām. ||2||
Whatever He makes me chant, is His Name. ||2||
|
ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਜਹ ਸਾਧ ਪਗ ਧਰਹਿ ॥
Aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath jah sāḏẖ pag ḏẖarėh.
That is the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage, where the Holy place their feet,
|
ਤਹ ਬੈਕੁੰਠੁ ਜਹ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰਹਿ ॥
Ŧah baikunṯẖ jah nām ucẖrahi.
and that is heaven, where the Naam is chanted.
|
ਸਰਬ ਅਨੰਦ ਜਬ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
Sarab anand jab ḏarsan pā▫ī▫ai.
All bliss comes, when one obtains the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan.
|
ਰਾਮ ਗੁਣਾ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
Rām guṇā niṯ niṯ har gā▫ī▫ai. ||3||
I sing continuously, continually, the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||3||
|
ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥
Āpe gẖat gẖat rahi▫ā bi▫āp.
The Lord Himself is pervading in each and every heart.
|
ਦਇਆਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪਰਗਟ ਪਰਤਾਪ ॥
Ḏa▫i▫āl purakẖ pargat parṯāp.
The glory of the Merciful Lord is radiant and manifest.
|
ਕਪਟ ਖੁਲਾਨੇ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਨਾਠੇ ਦੂਰੇ ॥
Kapat kẖulāne bẖaram nāṯẖe ḏūre.
The shutters are opened, and doubts have run away.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਪੂਰੇ ॥੪॥੧੪॥੨੫॥
Nānak ka▫o gur bẖete pūre. ||4||14||25||
Nanak has met with the Perfect Guru. ||4||14||25||

Raamkalee, Fifth Mehl:

ਕੋਟਿ ਜਾਪ ਤਾਪ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
Kot jāp ṯāp bisrām.
Millions of meditations and austerities rest in him,
|
ਰਿਧਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਸਿਧਿ ਸੁਰ ਗਿਆਨ ॥
Riḏẖ buḏẖ siḏẖ sur gi▫ān.
along with wealth, wisdom, miraculous spiritual powers and angelic spiritual insight.
|
ਅਨਿਕ ਰੂਪ ਰੰਗ ਭੋਗ ਰਸੈ ॥
Anik rūp rang bẖog rasai.
He enjoys the various shows and forms, pleasures and delicacies;
|
ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੈ ॥੧॥
Gurmukẖ nām nimakẖ riḏai vasai. ||1||
the Naam, the Name of the Lord, dwells within the heart of the Gurmukh. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਕੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥
Har ke nām kī vadi▫ā▫ī.
Such is the glorious greatness of the Name of the Lord.
|
ਕੀਮਤਿ ਕਹਣੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
Kīmaṯ kahaṇ na jā▫ī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Its value cannot be described. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸੂਰਬੀਰ ਧੀਰਜ ਮਤਿ ਪੂਰਾ ॥
Sūrbīr ḏẖīraj maṯ pūrā.
He alone is brave, patient and perfectly wise;
