Sorath 3rd Guru.

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦੇ ਜਾਪਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਪੂਰੈ ਭਾਗਿ ਮਿਲਾਇ ॥
हरि जीउ सबदे जापदा भाई पूरै भागि मिलाइ ॥
Har jī▫o sabḏe jāpḏā bẖā▫ī pūrai bẖāg milā▫e.
The dear Lord is known through the instruction of the Guru, who is met by the perfect destiny.

ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਤੀਆ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥੧॥
सदा सुखु सोहागणी भाई अनदिनु रतीआ रंगु लाइ ॥१॥
Saḏā sukẖ sohāgaṇī bẖā▫ī an▫ḏin raṯī▫ā rang lā▫e. ||1||
The happy brides ever abide in peace, O brother They bear love to their Lord and night and day remain imbued therewith.

ਹਰਿ ਜੀ ਤੂ ਆਪੇ ਰੰਗੁ ਚੜਾਇ ॥
हरि जी तू आपे रंगु चड़ाइ ॥
Har jī ṯū āpe rang cẖaṛā▫e.
O good God, Thou Thyself givest the tinge of Thy love.

ਗਾਵਹੁ ਗਾਵਹੁ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਿਹੋ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਸੇਤੀ ਰੰਗੁ ਲਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गावहु गावहु रंगि रातिहो भाई हरि सेती रंगु लाइ ॥ रहाउ ॥
Gāvhu gāvhu rang rāṯiho bẖā▫ī har seṯī rang lā▫e. Rahā▫o.
Bear thou love with God, O brother and being so imbued with love, continually sing thou His praise. Pause.

ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਚਿਤੁ ਲਾਇ ॥
गुर की कार कमावणी भाई आपु छोडि चितु लाइ ॥
Gur kī kār kamāvṇī bẖā▫ī āp cẖẖod cẖiṯ lā▫e.
Abandon thy self-conceit and fix thy attention on the performance of Guru's service, O brother.

ਸਦਾ ਸਹਜੁ ਫਿਰਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥੨॥
सदा सहजु फिरि दुखु न लगई भाई हरि आपि वसै मनि आइ ॥२॥
Saḏā sahj fir ḏukẖ na lag▫ī bẖā▫ī har āp vasai man ā▫e. ||2||
Thus shalt thou ever abide in peace, O brother, sorrow shall visit thee not again and God Himself shall come and dwell within thy mind.

ਪਿਰ ਕਾ ਹੁਕਮੁ ਨ ਜਾਣਈ ਭਾਈ ਸਾ ਕੁਲਖਣੀ ਕੁਨਾਰਿ ॥
पिर का हुकमु न जाणई भाई सा कुलखणी कुनारि ॥
Pir kā hukam na jāṇ▫ī bẖā▫ī sā kulkẖaṇī kunār.
She, who realises not the will of her Beloved is an ill-mannered and had bride.

ਮਨਹਠਿ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਕੂੜਿਆਰਿ ॥੩॥
मनहठि कार कमावणी भाई विणु नावै कूड़िआरि ॥३॥
Manhaṯẖ kār kamāvṇī bẖā▫ī viṇ nāvai kūṛi▫ār. ||3||
Through her mind's obstinacy, she does the deeds and bereft of the Name, she is false, O brother.
|
ਸੇ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਜਿਨ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਭਾਗੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਭਾਇ ਸਚੈ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ॥
से गावहि जिन मसतकि भागु है भाई भाइ सचै बैरागु ॥
Se gāvahi jin masṯak bẖāg hai bẖā▫ī bẖā▫e sacẖai bairāg.
They, alone sing the Lord's praise, O brother, on whose brow good luck is recorded. Through the True Lord's love they become detached.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਰਵਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਗੁਰ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੁ ॥੪॥
अनदिनु राते गुण रवहि भाई निरभउ गुर लिव लागु ॥४॥
An▫ḏin rāṯe guṇ ravėh bẖā▫ī nirbẖa▫o gur liv lāg. ||4||
Cultivating love for the fearless Guru and imbued therewith, night and day, they utter the Lord's praise, O brother.
|
ਸਭਨਾ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਹੁ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥
सभना मारि जीवालदा भाई सो सेवहु दिनु राति ॥
Sabẖnā mār jīvālḏā bẖā▫ī so sevhu ḏin rāṯ.
Day and night serve Him, O brother who destroys and revives all.
|
ਸੋ ਕਿਉ ਮਨਹੁ ਵਿਸਾਰੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਵਡੀ ਹੈ ਦਾਤਿ ॥੫॥
सो किउ मनहु विसारीऐ भाई जिस दी वडी है दाति ॥५॥
So ki▫o manhu visārī▫ai bẖā▫ī jis ḏī vadī hai ḏāṯ. ||5||
Within our mind, why should we forget Him, O brother, whose gift is so great?

ਮਨਮੁਖਿ ਮੈਲੀ ਡੁੰਮਣੀ ਭਾਈ ਦਰਗਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਥਾਉ ॥
मनमुखि मैली डुमणी भाई दरगह नाही थाउ ॥
Manmukẖ mailī dummṇī bẖā▫ī ḏargėh nāhī thā▫o.
The way-ward bride is filthy and double-minded, O brother, and in the Lord's court, she finds no place of rest.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਤ ਗੁਣ ਰਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਮਿਲਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸਾਚਿ ਸਮਾਉ ॥੬॥
गुरमुखि होवै त गुण रवै भाई मिलि प्रीतम साचि समाउ ॥६॥
Gurmukẖ hovai ṯa guṇ ravai bẖā▫ī mil parīṯam sācẖ samā▫o. ||6||
If she turns Guru-wards, then, utters she the Lord's praise and meeting her True Beloved, merges in Him, O brother.

ਏਤੁ ਜਨਮਿ ਹਰਿ ਨ ਚੇਤਿਓ ਭਾਈ ਕਿਆ ਮੁਹੁ ਦੇਸੀ ਜਾਇ ॥
एतु जनमि हरि न चेतिओ भाई किआ मुहु देसी जाइ ॥
Ėṯ janam har na cẖeṯi▫o bẖā▫ī ki▫ā muhu ḏesī jā▫e.
In this life, she meditates not on the Lord, O brother. What face shall she show going hereafter?

ਕਿੜੀ ਪਵੰਦੀ ਮੁਹਾਇਓਨੁ ਭਾਈ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਨੋ ਲੋਭਾਇ ॥੭॥
किड़ी पवंदी मुहाइओनु भाई बिखिआ नो लोभाइ ॥७॥
Kiṛī pavanḏī muhā▫i▫on bẖā▫ī bikẖi▫ā no lobẖā▫e. ||7||
Inspite of the warning-calls being sounded, she is plundered, O brother, and craves only for sins.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਹਿ ਸੁਖਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਰੀਰ ॥
नामु समालहि सुखि वसहि भाई सदा सुखु सांति सरीर ॥
Nām samālėh sukẖ vasėh bẖā▫ī saḏā sukẖ sāʼnṯ sarīr.
They, who remember the Name, abide in peace, and ever joyful and clam remains their body.

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ ਭਾਈ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਗੁਣੀ ਗਹੀਰ ॥੮॥੩॥
नानक नामु समालि तू भाई अपर्मपर गुणी गहीर ॥८॥३॥
Nānak nām samāl ṯū bẖā▫ī aprampar guṇī gahīr. ||8||3||
Nanak, utter thou the name of the Limitless, Meritorious and Unfathomable Lord, O brother.

ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ਘਰੁ ੧ ਅਸਟਪਦੀਆ
सोरठि महला ५ घरु १ असटपदीआ
Soraṯẖ mėhlā 5 gẖar 1 asatpaḏī▫ā
Sorath 5th Guru. Ashtpadis.

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
There is but One God. By True Guru's grace is He obtained.
|
ਸਭੁ ਜਗੁ ਜਿਨਹਿ ਉਪਾਇਆ ਭਾਈ ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ॥
सभु जगु जिनहि उपाइआ भाई करण कारण समरथु ॥
Sabẖ jag jinėh upā▫i▫ā bẖā▫ī karaṇ kāraṇ samrath.
He, who has created the entire world, O brother, is Omnipotent to do all the deeds.

ਜੀਉ ਪਿੰਡੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਸਾਜਿਆ ਭਾਈ ਦੇ ਕਰਿ ਅਪਣੀ ਵਥੁ ॥
जीउ पिंडु जिनि साजिआ भाई दे करि अपणी वथु ॥
Jī▫o pind jin sāji▫ā bẖā▫ī ḏe kar apṇī vath.
He is the Lord who has fashioned the soul and body by using His power.

ਕਿਨਿ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਉ ਦੇਖੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਕਰਤਾ ਏਕੁ ਅਕਥੁ ॥
किनि कहीऐ किउ देखीऐ भाई करता एकु अकथु ॥
Kin kahī▫ai ki▫o ḏekẖī▫ai bẖā▫ī karṯā ek akath.
How is He to be described and how to be seen? The Creator is unique and indescribable, O brother.

ਗੁਰੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਸਲਾਹੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਤੇ ਜਾਪੈ ਤਥੁ ॥੧॥
गुरु गोविंदु सलाहीऐ भाई जिस ते जापै तथु ॥१॥
Gur govinḏ salāhī▫ai bẖā▫ī jis ṯe jāpai ṯath. ||1||
Praise thou thy Guru-God, O brother, from whom thou shalt know the quintessence.
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਜਪੀਐ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਵੰਤਾ ॥
मेरे मन जपीऐ हरि भगवंता ॥
Mere man japī▫ai har bẖagvanṯā.
O my soul, remember thou thy fortunate Lord.
|
ਨਾਮ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੇਇ ਜਨ ਅਪਨੇ ਦੂਖ ਦਰਦ ਕਾ ਹੰਤਾ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
नाम दानु देइ जन अपने दूख दरद का हंता ॥ रहाउ ॥
Nām ḏān ḏe▫e jan apne ḏūkẖ ḏaraḏ kā hanṯā. Rahā▫o.
The Lord, Destroyer of sorrow and suffering, blesses His slave with the benefaction of the Name. Pause.
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੈ ਭਾਈ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰ ॥
जा कै घरि सभु किछु है भाई नउ निधि भरे भंडार ॥
Jā kai gẖar sabẖ kicẖẖ hai bẖā▫ī na▫o niḏẖ bẖare bẖandār.
In whose Home every thing is there, and whose store-houses are brimful with nine treasures;

ਤਿਸ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਨਾ ਪਵੈ ਭਾਈ ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
तिस की कीमति ना पवै भाई ऊचा अगम अपार ॥
Ŧis kī kīmaṯ nā pavai bẖā▫ī ūcẖā agam apār.
His worth cannot be ascertained, O brother and He is lofty, unapproachable and Infinite.

ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਦਾ ਭਾਈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਕਰਦਾ ਸਾਰ ॥
जीअ जंत प्रतिपालदा भाई नित नित करदा सार ॥
Jī▫a janṯ parṯipālḏā bẖā▫ī niṯ niṯ karḏā sār.
He cherishes the human beings and other creatures, and day-in and day out, takes care of them, O brother.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਭੇਟੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਸਬਦਿ ਮਿਲਾਵਣਹਾਰ ॥੨॥
सतिगुरु पूरा भेटीऐ भाई सबदि मिलावणहार ॥२॥
Saṯgur pūrā bẖetī▫ai bẖā▫ī sabaḏ milāvaṇhār. ||2||
Meet thou, the perfect True Guru, O brother, who by his instruction, shall unite thee with the Lord.
|
ਸਚੇ ਚਰਣ ਸਰੇਵੀਅਹਿ ਭਾਈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਸੁ ॥
सचे चरण सरेवीअहि भाई भ्रमु भउ होवै नासु ॥
Sacẖe cẖaraṇ sarevī▫ah bẖā▫ī bẖaram bẖa▫o hovai nās.
By adoring the True Lord's feet, O brother, doubt and dread are dispelled.

ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਂਜੀਐ ਭਾਈ ਹਰਿ ਕੈ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਵਾਸੁ ॥
मिलि संत सभा मनु मांजीऐ भाई हरि कै नामि निवासु ॥
Mil sanṯ sabẖā man māʼnjī▫ai bẖā▫ī har kai nām nivās.
Joining the society of saints, cleanse the soul, O brother, and then, thou shalt abide in the Lord's Name.

ਮਿਟੈ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ ਅਗਿਆਨਤਾ ਭਾਈ ਕਮਲ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਗਾਸੁ ॥
मिटै अंधेरा अगिआनता भाई कमल होवै परगासु ॥
Mitai anḏẖerā agi▫ānṯā bẖā▫ī kamal hovai pargās.
The darkness of ignorance shall be dispelled and thy heart-lotus shall bloom, O brother.

ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਸੁਖੁ ਊਪਜੈ ਭਾਈ ਸਭਿ ਫਲ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
गुर बचनी सुखु ऊपजै भाई सभि फल सतिगुर पासि ॥३॥
Gur bacẖnī sukẖ ūpjai bẖā▫ī sabẖ fal saṯgur pās. ||3||
By Guru's word, well up all the comforts; all the fruits are with the True Guru, O brother.
