ਜੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੋ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
जो अंतरि सो बाहरि देखहु अवरु न दूजा कोई जीउ ॥
Jo anṫar so baahar ḋékʰhu avar na ḋoojaa ko▫ee jee▫o.
He is within - see Him outside as well; there is no one, other than Him.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਏਕ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖਹੁ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि एक द्रिसटि करि देखहु घटि घटि जोति समोई जीउ ॥२॥
Gurmukʰ ék ḋarisat kar ḋékʰhu gʰat gʰat joṫ samo▫ee jee▫o. ||2||
As Gurmukh, look upon all with the single eye of equality; in each and every heart, the Divine Light is contained. ||2||
|
ਚਲਤੌ ਠਾਕਿ ਰਖਹੁ ਘਰਿ ਅਪਨੈ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਇਹ ਮਤਿ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
चलतौ ठाकि रखहु घरि अपनै गुर मिलिऐ इह मति होई जीउ ॥
Chalṫou tʰaak rakʰahu gʰar apnæ gur mili▫æ ih maṫ ho▫ee jee▫o.
Restrain your fickle mind, and keep it steady within its own home; meeting the Guru, this understanding is obtained.

ਦੇਖਿ ਅਦ੍ਰਿਸਟੁ ਰਹਉ ਬਿਸਮਾਦੀ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਸਰੈ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
देखि अद्रिसटु रहउ बिसमादी दुखु बिसरै सुखु होई जीउ ॥३॥
Ḋékʰ aḋrist raha▫o bismaaḋee ḋukʰ bisræ sukʰ ho▫ee jee▫o. ||3||
Seeing the unseen Lord, you shall be amazed and delighted; forgetting your pain, you shall be at peace. ||3||
|
ਪੀਵਹੁ ਅਪਿਉ ਪਰਮ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਨਿਜ ਘਰਿ ਵਾਸਾ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
पीवहु अपिउ परम सुखु पाईऐ निज घरि वासा होई जीउ ॥
Peevhu api▫o param sukʰ paa▫ee▫æ nij gʰar vaasaa ho▫ee jee▫o.
Drinking in the ambrosial nectar, you shall attain the highest bliss, and dwell within the home of your own self.

ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਭਵ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਗਾਈਐ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥
जनम मरण भव भंजनु गाईऐ पुनरपि जनमु न होई जीउ ॥४॥
Janam maraṇ bʰav bʰanjan gaa▫ee▫æ punrap janam na ho▫ee jee▫o. ||4||
So, sing the Praises of the Lord, the Destroyer of the fear of birth and death, and you shall not be reincarnated again. ||4||

ਤਤੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਬਾਈ ਸੋਹੰ ਭੇਦੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥
ततु निरंजनु जोति सबाई सोहं भेदु न कोई जीउ ॥
Ṫaṫ niranjan joṫ sabaa▫ee sohaⁿ bʰéḋ na ko▫ee jee▫o.
The essence, the immaculate Lord, the Light of all - I am He and He is me - there is no difference between us.

ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ਜੀਉ ॥੫॥੧੧॥
अपर्मपर पारब्रहमु परमेसरु नानक गुरु मिलिआ सोई जीउ ॥५॥११॥
Aprampar paarbarahm parmésar Naanak gur mili▫aa so▫ee jee▫o. ||5||11||
The Infinite Transcendent Lord, the Supreme Lord God - Nanak has met with Him, the Guru. ||5||11||

Sorat’h, First Mehl, Third House:

ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥
ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥
Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.
One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru:
|
ਜਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵਾ ਤਦ ਹੀ ਗਾਵਾ ॥
जा तिसु भावा तद ही गावा ॥
Jaa ṫis bʰaavaa ṫaḋ hee gaavaa.
When I am pleasing to Him, then I sing His Praises.
|
ਤਾ ਗਾਵੇ ਕਾ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਵਾ ॥
ता गावे का फलु पावा ॥
Ṫaa gaavé kaa fal paavaa.
Singing His Praises, I receive the fruits of my rewards.
|
ਗਾਵੇ ਕਾ ਫਲੁ ਹੋਈ ॥
गावे का फलु होई ॥
Gaavé kaa fal ho▫ee.
The rewards of singing His Praises are obtained,
|
ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥੧॥
जा आपे देवै सोई ॥१॥
Jaa aapé ḋévæ so▫ee. ||1||
when He Himself gives them. ||1||
|
ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਬਚਨੀ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥
मन मेरे गुर बचनी निधि पाई ॥
Man méré gur bachnee niḋʰ paa▫ee.
O my mind! Through the Word of the Guru’s Shabad, the treasure is obtained;
|
ਤਾ ਤੇ ਸਚ ਮਹਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
ता ते सच महि रहिआ समाई ॥ रहाउ ॥
Ṫaa ṫé sach mėh rahi▫aa samaa▫ee. Rahaa▫o.
this is why I remain immersed in the True Name. ||Pause||

ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਾਗੀ ॥
गुर साखी अंतरि जागी ॥
Gur saakʰee anṫar jaagee.
When I awoke within myself to the Guru’s Teachings,
|
ਤਾ ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥
ता चंचल मति तिआगी ॥
Ṫaa chanchal maṫ ṫi▫aagee.
then I renounced my fickle intellect.
|
ਗੁਰ ਸਾਖੀ ਕਾ ਉਜੀਆਰਾ ॥
गुर साखी का उजीआरा ॥
Gur saakʰee kaa ujee▫aaraa.
When the Light of the Guru’s Teachings dawned,
|
ਤਾ ਮਿਟਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਅੰਧੵਾਰਾ ॥੨॥
ता मिटिआ सगल अंध्यारा ॥२॥
Ṫaa miti▫aa sagal anḋʰ▫yaaraa. ||2||
and then all darkness was dispelled. ||2||
|
ਗੁਰ ਚਰਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਲਾਗਾ ॥
गुर चरनी मनु लागा ॥
Gur charnee man laagaa.
When the mind is attached to the Guru’s Feet,
|
ਤਾ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਭਾਗਾ ॥
ता जम का मारगु भागा ॥
Ṫaa jam kaa maarag bʰaagaa.
then the Path of Death recedes.
|
ਭੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
भै विचि निरभउ पाइआ ॥
Bʰæ vich nirbʰa▫o paa▫i▫aa.
Through the Fear of God, one attains the Fearless Lord;
|
ਤਾ ਸਹਜੈ ਕੈ ਘਰਿ ਆਇਆ ॥੩॥
ता सहजै कै घरि आइआ ॥३॥
Ṫaa sahjæ kæ gʰar aa▫i▫aa. ||3||
then, one enters the home of celestial bliss. ||3||
|
ਭਣਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
भणति नानकु बूझै को बीचारी ॥
Bʰaṇaṫ Naanak boojʰæ ko beechaaree.
Prays Nanak, how rare are those who reflect and understand,
|
ਇਸੁ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥
इसु जग महि करणी सारी ॥
Is jag mėh karṇee saaree.
the most sublime action in this world.
|
ਕਰਣੀ ਕੀਰਤਿ ਹੋਈ ॥
करणी कीरति होई ॥
Karṇee keeraṫ ho▫ee.
The noblest deed is to sing the Lord’s Praises,
|
ਜਾ ਆਪੇ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੋਈ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੨॥
जा आपे मिलिआ सोई ॥४॥१॥१२॥
Jaa aapé mili▫aa so▫ee. ||4||1||12||
and so meet the Lord Himself. ||4||1||12||

Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ.

ਸੇਵਕ ਸੇਵ ਕਰਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਜਿਨ ਸਬਦੈ ਸਾਦੁ ਆਇਆ ॥
सेवक सेव करहि सभि तेरी जिन सबदै सादु आइआ ॥
Sévak sév karahi sabʰ ṫéree jin sabḋæ saaḋ aa▫i▫aa.
All of Your servants, who relish the Word of Your Shabad, serve You.
|
ਗੁਰ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਹੋਆ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇਆ ॥
गुर किरपा ते निरमलु होआ जिनि विचहु आपु गवाइआ ॥
Gur kirpaa ṫé nirmal ho▫aa jin vichahu aap gavaa▫i▫aa.
By Guru’s Grace, they become pure, eradicating self-conceit from within.

ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਨਿਤ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸੁਹਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
अनदिनु गुण गावहि नित साचे गुर कै सबदि सुहाइआ ॥१॥
An▫ḋin guṇ gaavahi niṫ saaché gur kæ sabaḋ suhaa▫i▫aa. ||1||
Night and day, they continually sing the Glorious Praises of the True Lord; they are adorned with the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹਮ ਬਾਰਿਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥
मेरे ठाकुर हम बारिक सरणि तुमारी ॥
Méré tʰaakur ham baarik saraṇ ṫumaaree.
O my Lord and Master, I am Your child; I seek Your Sanctuary.
|
ਏਕੋ ਸਚਾ ਸਚੁ ਤੂ ਕੇਵਲੁ ਆਪਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
एको सचा सचु तू केवलु आपि मुरारी ॥ रहाउ ॥
Éko sachaa sach ṫoo kéval aap muraaree. Rahaa▫o.
You are the One and Only Lord, the Truest of the True; You Yourself are the Destroyer of ego. ||Pause||

ਜਾਗਤ ਰਹੇ ਤਿਨੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਬਦੇ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਾਰੀ ॥
जागत रहे तिनी प्रभु पाइआ सबदे हउमै मारी ॥
Jaagaṫ rahé ṫinee parabʰ paa▫i▫aa sabḋé ha▫umæ maaree.
Those who remain wakeful obtain God; through the Word of the Shabad, they conquer their ego.

ਗਿਰਹੀ ਮਹਿ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਗਿਆਨ ਤਤ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥
गिरही महि सदा हरि जन उदासी गिआन तत बीचारी ॥
Gir▫hee mėh saḋaa har jan uḋaasee gi▫aan ṫaṫ beechaaree.
Immersed in family life, the Lord’s humble servant ever remains detached; he reflects upon the essence of spiritual wisdom.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਆ ਉਰ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੨॥
सतिगुरु सेवि सदा सुखु पाइआ हरि राखिआ उर धारी ॥२॥
Saṫgur sév saḋaa sukʰ paa▫i▫aa har raakʰi▫aa ur ḋʰaaree. ||2||
Serving the True Guru, he finds eternal peace, and he keeps the Lord enshrined in his heart. ||2||
|
ਇਹੁ ਮਨੂਆ ਦਹ ਦਿਸਿ ਧਾਵਦਾ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਇਆ ॥
इहु मनूआ दह दिसि धावदा दूजै भाइ खुआइआ ॥
Ih manoo▫aa ḋah ḋis ḋʰaavḋaa ḋoojæ bʰaa▫é kʰu▫aa▫i▫aa.
This mind wanders in the ten directions; it is consumed by the love of duality.
