5th Guru.
|
ਘਟਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਚਰਣਾਰਬਿੰਦ ਰਸਨਾ ਜਪੈ ਗੁਪਾਲ ॥
घटि वसहि चरणारबिंद रसना जपै गुपाल ॥
Gẖat vasėh cẖarṇārbinḏ rasnā japai gupāl.
Enshrine within thy mind the Lord's lotus feet and with thy tongue repeat the Lord's Name.

ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸਿਮਰੀਐ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਕਉ ਪਾਲਿ ॥੨॥
नानक सो प्रभु सिमरीऐ तिसु देही कउ पालि ॥२॥
Nānak so parabẖ simrī▫ai ṯis ḏehī ka▫o pāl. ||2||
Contemplate over that Lord, O Nanak, and nurture this body of thine.

|
ਆਪੇ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਤੀਰਥ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੇ ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ॥
आपे अठसठि तीरथ करता आपि करे इसनानु ॥
Āpe aṯẖsaṯẖ ṯirath karṯā āp kare isnān.
The Creator Himself is the sixty eight holy places and Himself takes bath therein.

ਆਪੇ ਸੰਜਮਿ ਵਰਤੈ ਸ੍ਵਾਮੀ ਆਪਿ ਜਪਾਇਹਿ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
आपे संजमि वरतै स्वामी आपि जपाइहि नामु ॥
Āpe sanjam varṯai savāmī āp japā▫ihi nām.
Himself the Lord practises abstinence and Himself makes men repeat His Name.

ਆਪਿ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਭਉ ਖੰਡਨੁ ਆਪਿ ਕਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਦਾਨੁ ॥
आपि दइआलु होइ भउ खंडनु आपि करै सभु दानु ॥
Āp ḏa▫i▫āl ho▫e bẖa▫o kẖandan āp karai sabẖ ḏān.
The Destroyer of fear Himself becomes merciful and Himself He gives alms to all.
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੁਝਾਏ ਸੋ ਸਦ ਹੀ ਦਰਗਹਿ ਪਾਏ ਮਾਨੁ ॥
जिस नो गुरमुखि आपि बुझाए सो सद ही दरगहि पाए मानु ॥
Jis no gurmukẖ āp bujẖā▫e so saḏ hī ḏargahi pā▫e mān.
He, whom he Himself enlightens, through the Guru, ever obtains honour in his court.

ਜਿਸ ਦੀ ਪੈਜ ਰਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੋ ਸਚਾ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਨੁ ॥੧੪॥
जिस दी पैज रखै हरि सुआमी सो सचा हरि जानु ॥१४॥
Jis ḏī paij rakẖai har su▫āmī so sacẖā har jān. ||14||
He, whose honour the Lord God preserves, realises the True God.

Slok 3rd Guru.

ਨਾਨਕ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਭੇਟੇ ਜਗੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਹੈ ਅੰਧੇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਇ ॥
नानक बिनु सतिगुर भेटे जगु अंधु है अंधे करम कमाइ ॥
Nānak bin saṯgur bẖete jag anḏẖ hai anḏẖe karam kamā▫e.
Nanak, sans meeting with the True Guru, the world is blind and does blind deeds.

ਸਬਦੈ ਸਿਉ ਚਿਤੁ ਨ ਲਾਵਈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸੁਖੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਆਇ ॥
सबदै सिउ चितु न लावई जितु सुखु वसै मनि आइ ॥
Sabḏai si▫o cẖiṯ na lāv▫ī jiṯ sukẖ vasai man ā▫e.
It fixes not its attention on Guru's word, whereby peace comes to abide in the mind.

ਤਾਮਸਿ ਲਗਾ ਸਦਾ ਫਿਰੈ ਅਹਿਨਿਸਿ ਜਲਤੁ ਬਿਹਾਇ ॥
तामसि लगा सदा फिरै अहिनिसि जलतु बिहाइ ॥
Ŧāmas lagā saḏā firai ahinis jalaṯ bihā▫e.
Inflicted ever with wrath the world wanders about and burning therein its passes its days and nights.
|
ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਥੀਐ ਕਹਣਾ ਕਿਛੂ ਨ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥
जो तिसु भावै सो थीऐ कहणा किछू न जाइ ॥१॥
Jo ṯis bẖāvai so thī▫ai kahṇā kicẖẖū na jā▫e. ||1||
Whatever pleases Him, that comes to pass. No one has any say, therein.
|

3rd Guru.
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰੂ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਆ ਕਾਰੀ ਏਹ ਕਰੇਹੁ ॥
सतिगुरू फुरमाइआ कारी एह करेहु ॥
Saṯgurū furmā▫i▫ā kārī eh karehu.
The True Guru has commanded me to do this task.
|
ਗੁਰੂ ਦੁਆਰੈ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸੰਮਾਲੇਹੁ ॥
गुरू दुआरै होइ कै साहिबु समालेहु ॥
Gurū ḏu▫ārai ho▫e kai sāhib sammālehu.
Through the Guru, meditate thou on thy Lord.
|
ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰਿ ਹੈ ਭਰਮੈ ਕੇ ਛਉੜ ਕਟਿ ਕੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਧਰੇਹੁ ॥
साहिबु सदा हजूरि है भरमै के छउड़ कटि कै अंतरि जोति धरेहु ॥
Sāhib saḏā hajūr hai bẖarmai ke cẖẖa▫uṛ kat kai anṯar joṯ ḏẖarehu.
The Lord is ever present. Tearing off the veil of doubt, He shall place His light within thy mind.

ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹੈ ਦਾਰੂ ਏਹੁ ਲਾਏਹੁ ॥
हरि का नामु अम्रितु है दारू एहु लाएहु ॥
Har kā nām amriṯ hai ḏārū ehu lā▫ehu.
God's Name is Nectar. Avail this health promoting elixir.

ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਭਾਣਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਰਖਹੁ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਚਾ ਨੇਹੁ ॥
सतिगुर का भाणा चिति रखहु संजमु सचा नेहु ॥
Saṯgur kā bẖāṇā cẖiṯ rakẖahu sanjam sacẖā nehu.
True Guru's will, enshrine thou in thy mind and make True Lord's love thy self-abstinence.

ਨਾਨਕ ਐਥੈ ਸੁਖੈ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਰਖਸੀ ਅਗੈ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਕੇਲ ਕਰੇਹੁ ॥੨॥
नानक ऐथै सुखै अंदरि रखसी अगै हरि सिउ केल करेहु ॥२॥
Nānak aithai sukẖai anḏar rakẖsī agai har si▫o kel karehu. ||2||
Nanak, here the True Guru shall keep thee in peace and hereafter thou shalt make merry with God.

Pauri.
|
ਆਪੇ ਭਾਰ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਬਣਸਪਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਫਲ ਲਾਏ ॥
आपे भार अठारह बणसपति आपे ही फल लाए ॥
Āpe bẖār aṯẖārah baṇaspaṯ āpe hī fal lā▫e.
The Lord Himself is the eighteen loads of vegetation and Himself makes it bear fruits.
|
ਆਪੇ ਮਾਲੀ ਆਪਿ ਸਭੁ ਸਿੰਚੈ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਮੁਹਿ ਪਾਏ ॥
आपे माली आपि सभु सिंचै आपे ही मुहि पाए ॥
Āpe mālī āp sabẖ sincẖai āpe hī muhi pā▫e.
Himself is He the gardner Himself irrigates all the plants and Himself puts their fruit in the mouth.

ਆਪੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਭੁਗਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਦੇਇ ਦਿਵਾਏ ॥
आपे करता आपे भुगता आपे देइ दिवाए ॥
Āpe karṯā āpe bẖugṯā āpe ḏe▫e ḏivā▫e.
Himself is he the Maker and Himself the Enjoyer. He Himself gives and makes others give.
|
ਆਪੇ ਸਾਹਿਬੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਰਾਖਾ ਆਪੇ ਰਹਿਆ ਸਮਾਏ ॥
आपे साहिबु आपे है राखा आपे रहिआ समाए ॥
Āpe sāhib āpe hai rākẖā āpe rahi▫ā samā▫e.
He Himself is the Lord, Himself the Protector and Himself is contained in His creation.

ਜਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਵਡਿਆਈ ਆਖੈ ਹਰਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਕੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤਿਲੁ ਨ ਤਮਾਏ ॥੧੫॥
जनु नानक वडिआई आखै हरि करते की जिस नो तिलु न तमाए ॥१५॥
Jan Nānak vadi▫ā▫ī ākẖai har karṯe kī jis no ṯil na ṯamā▫e. ||15||
Servant Nanak narrates the praise of God, the Creator, who has not even an iota of avarice.

ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥

Slok 3rd Guru.
|
ਮਾਣਸੁ ਭਰਿਆ ਆਣਿਆ ਮਾਣਸੁ ਭਰਿਆ ਆਇ ॥
माणसु भरिआ आणिआ माणसु भरिआ आइ ॥
Māṇas bẖari▫ā āṇi▫ā māṇas bẖari▫ā ā▫e.
One men brings a vessel full of wine, another comes and fills a cup there from.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਪੀਤੈ ਮਤਿ ਦੂਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਰਲੁ ਪਵੈ ਵਿਚਿ ਆਇ ॥
जितु पीतै मति दूरि होइ बरलु पवै विचि आइ ॥
Jiṯ pīṯai maṯ ḏūr ho▫e baral pavai vicẖ ā▫e.
By drinking which intellect departs, madness, enters the brain,
|
ਆਪਣਾ ਪਰਾਇਆ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਈ ਖਸਮਹੁ ਧਕੇ ਖਾਇ ॥
आपणा पराइआ न पछाणई खसमहु धके खाइ ॥
Āpṇā parā▫i▫ā na pacẖẖāṇ▫ī kẖasmahu ḏẖake kẖā▫e.
man distinguishes not between mine and thine and is buffeted by his Master.
|
ਜਿਤੁ ਪੀਤੈ ਖਸਮੁ ਵਿਸਰੈ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥
जितु पीतै खसमु विसरै दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥
Jiṯ pīṯai kẖasam visrai ḏargėh milai sajā▫e.
By drinking which the Lord is forgotten and the mortal receives punishment at His court.
|
ਝੂਠਾ ਮਦੁ ਮੂਲਿ ਨ ਪੀਚਈ ਜੇ ਕਾ ਪਾਰਿ ਵਸਾਇ ॥
झूठा मदु मूलि न पीचई जे का पारि वसाइ ॥
Jẖūṯẖā maḏ mūl na pīcẖ▫ī je kā pār vasā▫e.
Drink thou not, at all, the false wine, as far as it lies in thy power.
|
ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਸਚੁ ਮਦੁ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਆਇ ॥
नानक नदरी सचु मदु पाईऐ सतिगुरु मिलै जिसु आइ ॥
Nānak naḏrī sacẖ maḏ pā▫ī▫ai saṯgur milai jis ā▫e.
Nanak, he, whom the True Guru comes and meets, obtains the true, wine, by God's grace.

ਸਦਾ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਹੈ ਮਹਲੀ ਪਾਵੈ ਥਾਉ ॥੧॥
सदा साहिब कै रंगि रहै महली पावै थाउ ॥१॥
Saḏā sāhib kai rang rahai mahlī pāvai thā▫o. ||1||
He shall ever abide in Lord's love and obtain a seat in His presence.
|
ਮਃ ੩ ॥
मः ३ ॥

3rd Guru.
|
ਇਹੁ ਜਗਤੁ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਜਾ ਇਸ ਨੋ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਇ ॥
इहु जगतु जीवतु मरै जा इस नो सोझी होइ ॥
Ih jagaṯ jīvaṯ marai jā is no sojẖī ho▫e.
When this man realizes Him, he remains dead in life.
|
ਜਾ ਤਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਸਵਾਲਿਆ ਤਾਂ ਸਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਜਗਾਏ ਤਾਂ ਸੁਧਿ ਹੋਇ ॥
जा तिन्हि सवालिआ तां सवि रहिआ जगाए तां सुधि होइ ॥
Jā ṯiniĥ savāli▫ā ṯāʼn sav rahi▫ā jagā▫e ṯāʼn suḏẖ ho▫e.
When the Lord puts man to sleep, then, he, continues to sleep and when the Lord awakes him, then, he regains consciousness (as to what his origin and purpose of life is).

ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰਿ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਆਪਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲੈ ਸੋਇ ॥
नानक नदरि करे जे आपणी सतिगुरु मेलै सोइ ॥
Nānak naḏar kare je āpṇī saṯgur melai so▫e.
Nanak, if God casts His merciful glance, He makes man meet the true Guru.
|
ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜੀਵਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਰਣੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥
गुर प्रसादि जीवतु मरै ता फिरि मरणु न होइ ॥२॥
Gur parsāḏ jīvaṯ marai ṯā fir maraṇ na ho▫e. ||2||
If by Guru's grace, the mortal remains dead in life, then, he dies not again.

|
ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸ ਨੋ ਪਰਵਾਹ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਸੈ ਕੇਰੀ ॥
जिस दा कीता सभु किछु होवै तिस नो परवाह नाही किसै केरी ॥
Jis ḏā kīṯā sabẖ kicẖẖ hovai ṯis no parvāh nāhī kisai kerī.
At whose bidding, everything is done, what does He care for anybody else?

ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਤੇਰਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਖਾਵੈ ਸਭ ਮੁਹਤਾਜੀ ਕਢੈ ਤੇਰੀ ॥
हरि जीउ तेरा दिता सभु को खावै सभ मुहताजी कढै तेरी ॥
Har jī▫o ṯerā ḏiṯā sabẖ ko kẖāvai sabẖ muhṯājī kadẖai ṯerī.
My reverend Lord, all eat what Thou givest them. All are under Thy subservience,
