ਓਨੀ ਚਲਣੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਿਹਾਲਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਖਰਚੁ ਲੀਆ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਇ ॥
ओनी चलणु सदा निहालिआ हरि खरचु लीआ पति पाइ ॥
Onee chalaṇ saḋaa nihaali▫aa har kʰarach lee▫aa paṫ paa▫é.
They keep death constantly before their eyes; they gather the Provisions of the Lord’s Name, and receive honor.

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਦਰਗਹ ਮੰਨੀਅਹਿ ਹਰਿ ਆਪਿ ਲਏ ਗਲਿ ਲਾਇ ॥੨॥
गुरमुखि दरगह मंनीअहि हरि आपि लए गलि लाइ ॥२॥
Gurmukʰ ḋargėh manee▫ah har aap la▫é gal laa▫é. ||2||
The Gurmukhs are honored in the Court of the Lord. The Lord Himself takes them in His Loving Embrace. ||2||

ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਨੋ ਪੰਥੁ ਪਰਗਟਾ ਦਰਿ ਠਾਕ ਨ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇ ॥
गुरमुखा नो पंथु परगटा दरि ठाक न कोई पाइ ॥
Gurmukʰaa no panṫʰ pargataa ḋar tʰaak na ko▫ee paa▫é.
For the Gurmukhs, the Way is obvious. At the Lord’s Door, they face no obstructions.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਮਨਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਹਨਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਇ ॥
हरि नामु सलाहनि नामु मनि नामि रहनि लिव लाइ ॥
Har naam salaahan naam man naam rahan liv laa▫é.
They praise the Lord’s Name, they keep the Naam in their minds, and they remain attached to the Love of the Naam.

ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨੀ ਦਰਿ ਵਜਦੇ ਦਰਿ ਸਚੈ ਸੋਭਾ ਪਾਇ ॥੩॥
अनहद धुनी दरि वजदे दरि सचै सोभा पाइ ॥३॥
Anhaḋ ḋʰunee ḋar vajḋé ḋar sachæ sobʰaa paa▫é. ||3||
The Unstruck Celestial Music vibrates for them at the Lord’s Door, and they are honored at the True Door. ||3||

ਜਿਨੀ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਲਾਹਿਆ ਤਿਨਾ ਸਭ ਕੋ ਕਹੈ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥
जिनी गुरमुखि नामु सलाहिआ तिना सभ को कहै साबासि ॥
Jinee gurmukʰ naam sahaali▫aa ṫinaa sabʰ ko kahæ saabaas.
Those Gurmukhs who praise the Naam are applauded by everyone.

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਦੇਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮੈ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਕੀ ਅਰਦਾਸਿ ॥
तिन की संगति देहि प्रभ मै जाचिक की अरदासि ॥
Ṫin kee sangaṫ ḋėh parabʰ mæ jaachik kee arḋaas.
Grant me their company, God-I am a beggar; this is my prayer.

ਨਾਨਕ ਭਾਗ ਵਡੇ ਤਿਨਾ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਾ ਜਿਨ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਿ ॥੪॥੩੩॥੩੧॥੬॥੭੦॥
नानक भाग वडे तिना गुरमुखा जिन अंतरि नामु परगासि ॥४॥३३॥३१॥६॥७०॥
Naanak bʰaag vadé ṫinaa gurmukʰaa jin anṫar naam pargaas. ||4||33||31||6||70||
O Nanak! Great is the good fortune of those Gurmukhs, who are filled with the Light of the Naam within. ||4||33||31||6||70||

ਕਿਆ ਤੂ ਰਤਾ ਦੇਖਿ ਕੈ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਸੀਗਾਰ ॥
किआ तू रता देखि कै पुत्र कलत्र सीगार ॥
Ki▫aa ṫoo raṫaa ḋékʰ kæ puṫar kalṫar seegaar.
Why are you so thrilled by the sight of your son and your beautifully decorated wife?

ਰਸ ਭੋਗਹਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਮਾਣਹਿ ਰੰਗ ਅਪਾਰ ॥
रस भोगहि खुसीआ करहि माणहि रंग अपार ॥
Ras bʰogėh kʰusee▫aa karahi maaṇėh rang apaar.
You enjoy tasty delicacies, you have lots of fun, and you indulge in endless pleasures.

ਬਹੁਤੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਫੁਰਮਾਇਸੀ ਵਰਤਹਿ ਹੋਇ ਅਫਾਰ ॥
बहुतु करहि फुरमाइसी वरतहि होइ अफार ॥
Bahuṫ karahi furmaa▫isee varṫėh ho▫é afaar.
You give all sorts of commands, and you act so superior.

ਕਰਤਾ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਅੰਧ ਗਵਾਰ ॥੧॥
करता चिति न आवई मनमुख अंध गवार ॥१॥
Karṫaa chiṫ na aavee manmukʰ anḋʰ gavaar. ||1||
The Creator does not come into the mind of the blind, idiotic, self-willed Manmukh. ||1||
|
ਮੇਰੇ ਮਨ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਸੋਇ ॥
मेरे मन सुखदाता हरि सोइ ॥
Méré man sukʰ▫ḋaaṫa har so▫é.
O my mind! The Lord is the Giver of peace.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
गुर परसादी पाईऐ करमि परापति होइ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Gur parsaadee paa▫ee▫æ karam paraapaṫ ho▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
By Guru’s Grace, He is found. By His Mercy, He is obtained. ||1||Pause||

ਕਪੜਿ ਭੋਗਿ ਲਪਟਾਇਆ ਸੁਇਨਾ ਰੁਪਾ ਖਾਕੁ ॥
कपड़ि भोगि लपटाइआ सुइना रुपा खाकु ॥
Kapaṛ bʰog laptaa▫i▫aa su▫inaa rupaa kʰaak.
People are entangled in the enjoyment of fine clothes, but gold and silver are only dust.

ਹੈਵਰ ਗੈਵਰ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੇ ਕੀਏ ਰਥ ਅਥਾਕ ॥
हैवर गैवर बहु रंगे कीए रथ अथाक ॥
Hævar gævar baho rangé kee▫é raṫʰ aṫʰaak.
They acquire beautiful horses and elephants, and ornate carriages of many kinds.

ਕਿਸ ਹੀ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਪਾਵਹੀ ਬਿਸਰਿਆ ਸਭ ਸਾਕ ॥
किस ही चिति न पावही बिसरिआ सभ साक ॥
Kis hee chiṫ na paavhee bisri▫aa sabʰ saak.
They think of nothing else, and they forget all their relatives.

ਸਿਰਜਣਹਾਰਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਵਿਣੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਨਾਪਾਕ ॥੨॥
सिरजणहारि भुलाइआ विणु नावै नापाक ॥२॥
Sirjaṇhaar bʰulaa▫i▫aa viṇ naavæ naapaak. ||2||
They ignore their Creator; without the Name, they are impure. ||2||
|
ਲੈਦਾ ਬਦ ਦੁਆਇ ਤੂੰ ਮਾਇਆ ਕਰਹਿ ਇਕਤ ॥
लैदा बद दुआइ तूं माइआ करहि इकत ॥
Læḋaa baḋ ḋu▫aa▫é ṫooⁿ maa▫i▫aa karahi ikaṫ.
Gathering the wealth of Maya, you earn an evil reputation.
|
ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਤੂੰ ਪਤੀਆਇਦਾ ਸੋ ਸਣੁ ਤੁਝੈ ਅਨਿਤ ॥
जिस नो तूं पतीआइदा सो सणु तुझै अनित ॥
Jis no ṫooⁿ paṫee▫aa▫iḋaa so saṇ ṫujʰæ aniṫ.
Those whom you work to please shall pass away along with you.

ਅਹੰਕਾਰੁ ਕਰਹਿ ਅਹੰਕਾਰੀਆ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਮਨ ਕੀ ਮਤਿ ॥
अहंकारु करहि अहंकारीआ विआपिआ मन की मति ॥
Ahaⁿkaar karahi ahaⁿkaaree▫aa vi▫aapi▫aa man kee maṫ.
The egotistical are engrossed in egotism, ensnared by the intellect of the mind.

ਤਿਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਭੁਲਾਇਆ ਨਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਾਤਿ ਨ ਪਤਿ ॥੩॥
तिनि प्रभि आपि भुलाइआ ना तिसु जाति न पति ॥३॥
Ṫin parabʰ aap bʰulaa▫i▫aa naa ṫis jaaṫ na paṫ. ||3||
One who is deceived by God Himself, has no position and no honor. ||3||
|
ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ ਇਕੋ ਸਜਣੁ ਸੋਇ ॥
सतिगुरि पुरखि मिलाइआ इको सजणु सोइ ॥
Saṫgur purakʰ milaa▫i▫aa iko sajaṇ so▫é.
The True Guru, the Primal Being, has led me to meet the One, my only Friend.

ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕਾ ਰਾਖਾ ਏਕੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਆ ਮਾਣਸ ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਇ ॥
हरि जन का राखा एकु है किआ माणस हउमै रोइ ॥
Har jan kaa raakʰaa ék hæ ki▫aa maaṇas ha▫umæ ro▫é.
The One is the Saving Grace of His humble servant. Why should the proud cry out in ego?

ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਕਰੇ ਦਰਿ ਫੇਰੁ ਨ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥
जो हरि जन भावै सो करे दरि फेरु न पावै कोइ ॥
Jo har jan bʰaavæ so karé ḋar fér na paavæ ko▫é.
As the servant of the Lord wills, so does the Lord act. At the Lord’s Door, none of his requests are denied.

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਾ ਰੰਗਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਭ ਜਗ ਮਹਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੧॥੭੧॥
नानक रता रंगि हरि सभ जग महि चानणु होइ ॥४॥१॥७१॥
Naanak raṫaa rang har sabʰ jag mėh chaanaṇ ho▫é. ||4||1||71||
Nanak is attuned to the Love of the Lord, whose Light pervades the entire Universe. ||4||1||71||

ਮਨਿ ਬਿਲਾਸੁ ਬਹੁ ਰੰਗੁ ਘਣਾ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਭੂਲਿ ਖੁਸੀਆ ॥
मनि बिलासु बहु रंगु घणा द्रिसटि भूलि खुसीआ ॥
Man bilaas baho rang gʰaṇaa ḋarisat bʰool kʰusee▫aa.
With the mind caught up in playful pleasures, involved in all sorts of amusements and sights that stagger the eyes, people are led astray.

ਛਤ੍ਰਧਾਰ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹੀਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਸਹਸੇ ਪਰੀਆ ॥੧॥
छत्रधार बादिसाहीआ विचि सहसे परीआ ॥१॥
Chʰaṫarḋʰaar baaḋisaahee▫aa vich sahsé paree▫aa. ||1||
The emperors sitting on their thrones are consumed by anxiety. ||1||
|
ਭਾਈ ਰੇ ਸੁਖੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
भाई रे सुखु साधसंगि पाइआ ॥
Bʰaa▫ee ré sukʰ saaḋʰsang paa▫i▫aa.
O Siblings of Destiny, peace is found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਲਿਖਿਆ ਲੇਖੁ ਤਿਨਿ ਪੁਰਖਿ ਬਿਧਾਤੈ ਦੁਖੁ ਸਹਸਾ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਇਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
लिखिआ लेखु तिनि पुरखि बिधातै दुखु सहसा मिटि गइआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Likʰi▫aa lékʰ ṫin purakʰ biḋʰaaṫæ ḋukʰ sahsaa mit ga▫i▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
If the Supreme Lord, the Architect of Destiny, writes such an order, then anguish and anxiety are erased. ||1||Pause||

ਜੇਤੇ ਥਾਨ ਥਨੰਤਰਾ ਤੇਤੇ ਭਵਿ ਆਇਆ ॥
जेते थान थनंतरा तेते भवि आइआ ॥
Jéṫé ṫʰaan bananṫaraa ṫéṫé bʰav aa▫i▫aa.
There are so many places-I have wandered through them all.
|
ਧਨ ਪਾਤੀ ਵਡ ਭੂਮੀਆ ਮੇਰੀ ਮੇਰੀ ਕਰਿ ਪਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
धन पाती वड भूमीआ मेरी मेरी करि परिआ ॥२॥
Ḋʰan paaṫee vad bʰoomee▫aa méree méree kar pari▫aa. ||2||
The masters of wealth and the great land-lords have fallen, crying out, “This is mine! This is mine!” ||2||
|
ਹੁਕਮੁ ਚਲਾਏ ਨਿਸੰਗ ਹੋਇ ਵਰਤੈ ਅਫਰਿਆ ॥
हुकमु चलाए निसंग होइ वरतै अफरिआ ॥
Hukam chalaa▫é nisang ho▫é varṫæ afri▫aa.
They issue their commands fearlessly, and act in pride.

ਸਭੁ ਕੋ ਵਸਗਤਿ ਕਰਿ ਲਇਓਨੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਖਾਕੁ ਰਲਿਆ ॥੩॥
सभु को वसगति करि लइओनु बिनु नावै खाकु रलिआ ॥३॥
Sabʰ ko vasgaṫ kar la▫i▫on bin naavæ kʰaak rali▫aa. ||3||
They subdue all under their command, but without the Name, they are reduced to dust. ||3||
|
ਕੋਟਿ ਤੇਤੀਸ ਸੇਵਕਾ ਸਿਧ ਸਾਧਿਕ ਦਰਿ ਖਰਿਆ ॥
कोटि तेतीस सेवका सिध साधिक दरि खरिआ ॥
Kot ṫéṫees sévkaa siḋʰ saaḋʰik ḋar kʰari▫aa.
Even those who are served by the 33 million angelic beings, at whose door the Siddhas and the Sadhus stand,

ਗਿਰੰਬਾਰੀ ਵਡ ਸਾਹਬੀ ਸਭੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੁਪਨੁ ਥੀਆ ॥੪॥੨॥੭੨॥
गिर्मबारी वड साहबी सभु नानक सुपनु थीआ ॥४॥२॥७२॥
Girambaaree vad saahbee sabʰ Naanak supan ṫʰee▫aa. ||4||2||72||
who live in wondrous affluence and rule over mountains, oceans and vast dominions-O Nanak! In the end, all this vanishes like a dream! ||4||2||72||
