ਸਗਲ ਦੂਖ ਕਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਨਾਸੁ ॥੨॥
सगल दूख का होइआ नासु ॥२॥
Sagal ḋookʰ kaa ho▫i▫aa naas. ||2||
all suffering comes to an end. ||2||
|
ਆਸਾ ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਧਨੁ ਏਕ ॥
आसा माणु ताणु धनु एक ॥
Aasaa maaṇ ṫaaṇ ḋʰan ék.
The One Lord is my hope, honor, power and wealth.
|
ਸਾਚੇ ਸਾਹ ਕੀ ਮਨ ਮਹਿ ਟੇਕ ॥੩॥
साचे साह की मन महि टेक ॥३॥
Saaché saah kee man mėh ték. ||3||
Within my mind is the Support of the True Banker. ||3||
|
ਮਹਾ ਗਰੀਬ ਜਨ ਸਾਧ ਅਨਾਥ ॥
महा गरीब जन साध अनाथ ॥
Mahaa gareeb jan saaḋʰ anaaṫʰ.
I am the poorest and most helpless servant of the Holy.

ਨਾਨਕ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਰਾਖੇ ਦੇ ਹਾਥ ॥੪॥੮੫॥੧੫੪॥
नानक प्रभि राखे दे हाथ ॥४॥८५॥१५४॥
Naanak parabʰ raakʰé ḋé haaṫʰ. ||4||85||154||
O Nanak! Giving me His Hand, God has protected me. ||4||85||154||

ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਮਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਸੂਚੇ ॥
हरि हरि नामि मजनु करि सूचे ॥
Har har naam majan kar sooché.
Taking my cleansing bath in the Name of the Lord, Har, Har, I have been purified.

ਕੋਟਿ ਗ੍ਰਹਣ ਪੁੰਨ ਫਲ ਮੂਚੇ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कोटि ग्रहण पुंन फल मूचे ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kot garahaṇ punn fal mooché. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Its reward surpasses the giving of charity at millions of solar eclipses. ||1||Pause||
|
ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਚਰਣ ਰਿਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਬਸੇ ॥
हरि के चरण रिदे महि बसे ॥
Har ké charaṇ riḋé mėh basé.
With the Lord’s Feet abiding in the heart,
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਨਸੇ ॥੧॥
जनम जनम के किलविख नसे ॥१॥
Janam janam ké kilvikʰ nasé. ||1||
the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are removed. ||1||
|
ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਕੀਰਤਨ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
साधसंगि कीरतन फलु पाइआ ॥
Saaḋʰsang keerṫan fal paa▫i▫aa.
I have obtained the reward of the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy.

ਜਮ ਕਾ ਮਾਰਗੁ ਦ੍ਰਿਸਟਿ ਨ ਆਇਆ ॥੨॥
जम का मारगु द्रिसटि न आइआ ॥२॥
Jam kaa maarag ḋarisat na aa▫i▫aa. ||2||
I no longer have to gaze upon the way of death. ||2||
|
ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥
मन बच क्रम गोविंद अधारु ॥
Man bach karam govinḋ aḋʰaar.
In thought, word and deed, seek the Support of the Lord of the Universe;

ਤਾ ਤੇ ਛੁਟਿਓ ਬਿਖੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ॥੩॥
ता ते छुटिओ बिखु संसारु ॥३॥
Ṫaa ṫé chʰuti▫o bikʰ sansaar. ||3||
Thus, you shall be saved from the poisonous world-ocean. ||3||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੋ ਅਪਨਾ ॥
करि किरपा प्रभि कीनो अपना ॥
Kar kirpaa parabʰ keeno apnaa.
Granting His Grace, God has made me His Own.

ਨਾਨਕ ਜਾਪੁ ਜਪੇ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਨਾ ॥੪॥੮੬॥੧੫੫॥
नानक जापु जपे हरि जपना ॥४॥८६॥१५५॥
Naanak jaap japé har japnaa. ||4||86||155||
Nanak chants and meditates on the Chant of the Lord’s Name. ||4||86||155||

ਪਉ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਾਤੇ ॥
पउ सरणाई जिनि हरि जाते ॥
Pa▫o sarṇaa▫ee jin har jaaṫé.
Seek the Sanctuary of those who have come to know the Lord.

ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਚਰਣ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ॥੧॥
मनु तनु सीतलु चरण हरि राते ॥१॥
Man ṫan seeṫal charaṇ har raaṫé. ||1||
Your mind and body shall become cool and peaceful, imbued with the Feet of the Lord. ||1||
|
ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਮਨਿ ਨ ਬਸਾਹੀ ॥
भै भंजन प्रभ मनि न बसाही ॥
Bʰæ bʰanjan parabʰ man na basaahee.
If God, the Destroyer of fear, does not dwell within your mind,
|
ਡਰਪਤ ਡਰਪਤ ਜਨਮ ਬਹੁਤੁ ਜਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
डरपत डरपत जनम बहुतु जाही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Darpaṫ darpaṫ janam bahuṫ jaahee. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
you shall spend countless incarnations in fear and dread. ||1||Pause||
|
ਜਾ ਕੈ ਰਿਦੈ ਬਸਿਓ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ॥
जा कै रिदै बसिओ हरि नाम ॥
Jaa kæ riḋæ basi▫o har naam.
Those who have the Lord’s Name dwelling within their hearts
|
ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ॥੨॥
सगल मनोरथ ता के पूरन काम ॥२॥
Sagal manoraṫʰ ṫaa ké pooran kaam. ||2||
have all their desires and tasks fulfilled. ||2||
|
ਜਨਮੁ ਜਰਾ ਮਿਰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਵਾਸਿ ॥
जनमु जरा मिरतु जिसु वासि ॥
Janam jaraa miraṫ jis vaas.
Birth, old age and death are in His Power,
|
ਸੋ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਗਿਰਾਸਿ ॥੩॥
सो समरथु सिमरि सासि गिरासि ॥३॥
So samraṫʰ simar saas giraas. ||3||
So, remember that All-powerful Lord with each breath and morsel of food. ||3||
|
ਮੀਤੁ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਸਖਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਏਕ ॥
मीतु साजनु सखा प्रभु एक ॥
Meeṫ saajan sakʰaa parabʰ ék.
The One God is my Intimate, Best Friend and Companion.

ਨਾਮੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਟੇਕ ॥੪॥੮੭॥੧੫੬॥
नामु सुआमी का नानक टेक ॥४॥८७॥१५६॥
Naam su▫aamee kaa Naanak ték. ||4||87||156||
The Naam, the Name of my Lord and Master, is Nanak’s only Support. ||4||87||156||

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਰਾਖਿਓ ਰਿਦੈ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥
बाहरि राखिओ रिदै समालि ॥
Baahar raakʰi▫o riḋæ samaal.
When they are out and about, they keep Him enshrined in their hearts;
|
ਘਰਿ ਆਏ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਲੈ ਨਾਲਿ ॥੧॥
घरि आए गोविंदु लै नालि ॥१॥
Gʰar aa▫é govinḋ læ naal. ||1||
returning home, the Lord of the Universe is still with them. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ॥
हरि हरि नामु संतन कै संगि ॥
Har har naam sanṫan kæ sang.
The Name of the Lord, Har, Har, is the Companion of His Saints.
|
ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੈ ਰੰਗਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मनु तनु राता राम कै रंगि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Man ṫan raaṫaa raam kæ rang. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Their minds and bodies are imbued with the Love of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਤਰਿਆ ॥
गुर परसादी सागरु तरिआ ॥
Gur parsaadee saagar ṫari▫aa.
By Guru’s Grace, one crosses over the world-ocean;
|
ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੇ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਸਭਿ ਹਿਰਿਆ ॥੨॥
जनम जनम के किलविख सभि हिरिआ ॥२॥
Janam janam ké kilvikʰ sabʰ hiri▫aa. ||2||
the sinful mistakes of countless incarnations are all washed away. ||2||
|
ਸੋਭਾ ਸੁਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਭਗਵੰਤੁ ॥
सोभा सुरति नामि भगवंतु ॥
Sobʰaa suraṫ naam bʰagvanṫ.
Honor and intuitive awareness are acquired through the Name of the Lord God.
|
ਪੂਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਮੰਤੁ ॥੩॥
पूरे गुर का निरमल मंतु ॥३॥
Pooré gur kaa nirmal manṫ. ||3||
The Teachings of the Perfect Guru are immaculate and pure. ||3||
|
ਚਰਣ ਕਮਲ ਹਿਰਦੇ ਮਹਿ ਜਾਪੁ ॥
चरण कमल हिरदे महि जापु ॥
Charaṇ kamal hirḋé mėh jaap.
Within your heart, meditate on His Lotus Feet.
|
ਨਾਨਕੁ ਪੇਖਿ ਜੀਵੈ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ॥੪॥੮੮॥੧੫੭॥
नानकु पेखि जीवै परतापु ॥४॥८८॥१५७॥
Naanak pékʰ jeevæ parṫaap. ||4||88||157||
Nanak lives by beholding the Lord’s Expansive Power. ||4||88||157||

ਧੰਨੁ ਇਹੁ ਥਾਨੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਏ ॥
धंनु इहु थानु गोविंद गुण गाए ॥
Ḋʰan ih ṫʰaan govinḋ guṇ gaa▫é.
Blessed is this place, where the Glorious Praises of the Lord of the Universe are sung.
|
ਕੁਸਲ ਖੇਮ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਆਪਿ ਬਸਾਏ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कुसल खेम प्रभि आपि बसाए ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kusal kʰém parabʰ aap basaa▫é. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
God Himself bestows peace and pleasure. ||1||Pause||
|
ਬਿਪਤਿ ਤਹਾ ਜਹਾ ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ॥
बिपति तहा जहा हरि सिमरनु नाही ॥
Bipaṫ ṫahaa jahaa har simran naahee.
Misfortune occurs where the Lord is not remembered in meditation.

ਕੋਟਿ ਅਨੰਦ ਜਹ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਹੀ ॥੧॥
कोटि अनंद जह हरि गुन गाही ॥१॥
Kot anand jah har gun gaahee. ||1||
There are millions of joys where the Glorious Praises of the Lord are sung. ||1||
|
ਹਰਿ ਬਿਸਰਿਐ ਦੁਖ ਰੋਗ ਘਨੇਰੇ ॥
हरि बिसरिऐ दुख रोग घनेरे ॥
Har bisri▫æ ḋukʰ rog gʰanéré.
Forgetting the Lord, all sorts of pains and diseases come.
|
ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੇਵਾ ਜਮੁ ਲਗੈ ਨ ਨੇਰੇ ॥੨॥
प्रभ सेवा जमु लगै न नेरे ॥२॥
Parabʰ sévaa jam lagæ na néré. ||2||
Serving God, the Messenger of Death will not even approach you. ||2||
|
ਸੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਥਾਨੁ ॥
सो वडभागी निहचल थानु ॥
So vadbʰaagee nihchal ṫʰaan.
Very blessed, stable and sublime is that place,
|
ਜਹ ਜਪੀਐ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੇਵਲ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੩॥
जह जपीऐ प्रभ केवल नामु ॥३॥
Jah japee▫æ parabʰ kéval naam. ||3||
where the Name of God alone is chanted. ||3||
|
ਜਹ ਜਾਈਐ ਤਹ ਨਾਲਿ ਮੇਰਾ ਸੁਆਮੀ ॥
जह जाईऐ तह नालि मेरा सुआमी ॥
Jah jaa▫ee▫æ ṫah naal méraa su▫aamee.
Wherever I go, my Lord and Master is with me.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥੪॥੮੯॥੧੫੮॥
नानक कउ मिलिआ अंतरजामी ॥४॥८९॥१५८॥
Naanak ka▫o mili▫aa anṫarjaamee. ||4||89||158||
Nanak has met the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts. ||4||89||158||

ਜੋ ਪ੍ਰਾਣੀ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ॥
जो प्राणी गोविंदु धिआवै ॥
Jo paraaṇee govinḋ ḋʰi▫aavæ.
That mortal who meditates on the Lord of the Universe,
|
ਪੜਿਆ ਅਣਪੜਿਆ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧॥
पड़िआ अणपड़िआ परम गति पावै ॥१॥
Paṛi▫aa aṇpaṛi▫aa param gaṫ paavæ. ||1||
whether educated or uneducated, obtains the state of supreme dignity. ||1||
|
ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਗੋਪਾਲ ॥
साधू संगि सिमरि गोपाल ॥
Saaḋʰoo sang simar gopaal.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, meditate on the Lord of the World.
|
ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਝੂਠਾ ਧਨੁ ਮਾਲੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
बिनु नावै झूठा धनु मालु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Bin naavæ jʰootʰaa ḋʰan maal. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Without the Name, wealth and property are false. ||1||Pause||
