ਚਰਨ ਸੇਵ ਸੰਤ ਸਾਧ ਕੇ ਸਗਲ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਪੂਰੇ ॥੩॥
चरन सेव संत साध के सगल मनोरथ पूरे ॥३॥
Charan sév sanṫ saaḋʰ ké sagal manoraṫʰ pooré. ||3||
Serving at the Feet of the Holy Saints, all desires are fulfilled. ||3||
|
ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਏਕੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰੇ ॥੪॥
घटि घटि एकु वरतदा जलि थलि महीअलि पूरे ॥४॥
Gʰat gʰat ék varaṫḋaa jal ṫʰal mahee▫al pooré. ||4||
In each and every heart, the One Lord is pervading. He is totally permeating the water, the land, and the sky. ||4||

ਪਾਪ ਬਿਨਾਸਨੁ ਸੇਵਿਆ ਪਵਿਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰੇ ॥੫॥
पाप बिनासनु सेविआ पवित्र संतन की धूरे ॥५॥
Paap binaasan sévi▫aa paviṫar sanṫan kee ḋʰooré. ||5||
I serve the Destroyer of sin, and I am sanctified by the dust of the feet of the Saints. ||5||

ਸਭ ਛਡਾਈ ਖਸਮਿ ਆਪਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਭਈ ਠਰੂਰੇ ॥੬॥
सभ छडाई खसमि आपि हरि जपि भई ठरूरे ॥६॥
Sabʰ chʰadaa▫ee kʰasam aap har jap bʰa▫ee tʰarooré. ||6||
My Lord and Master Himself has saved me completely; I am comforted by meditating on the Lord. ||6||

ਕਰਤੈ ਕੀਆ ਤਪਾਵਸੋ ਦੁਸਟ ਮੁਏ ਹੋਇ ਮੂਰੇ ॥੭॥
करतै कीआ तपावसो दुसट मुए होइ मूरे ॥७॥
Karṫæ kee▫aa ṫapaavaso ḋusat mu▫é ho▫é mooré. ||7||
The Creator has passed judgment, and the evil-doers have been silenced and killed. ||7||

ਨਾਨਕ ਰਤਾ ਸਚਿ ਨਾਇ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਜੂਰੇ ॥੮॥੫॥੩੯॥੧॥੩੨॥੧॥੫॥੩੯॥
नानक रता सचि नाइ हरि वेखै सदा हजूरे ॥८॥५॥३९॥१॥३२॥१॥५॥३९॥
Naanak raṫaa sach naa▫é har vékʰæ saḋaa hajooré. ||8||5||39||1||32||1||5||39||
Nanak is attuned to the True Name; he beholds the Presence of the Ever-present Lord. ||8||5||39||1||32||1||5||39||

ਕਿਰਤਿ ਕਰਮ ਕੇ ਵੀਛੁੜੇ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਰਾਮ ॥
किरति करम के वीछुड़े करि किरपा मेलहु राम ॥
Kiraṫ karam ké veechʰuṛé kar kirpaa mélhu raam.
By the actions we have committed, we are separated from You. Please show Your Mercy, and unite us with Yourself, Lord.

ਚਾਰਿ ਕੁੰਟ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਭ੍ਰਮੇ ਥਕਿ ਆਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕੀ ਸਾਮ ॥
चारि कुंट दह दिस भ्रमे थकि आए प्रभ की साम ॥
Chaar kunt ḋah ḋis bʰaramé ṫʰak aa▫é parabʰ kee saam.
We have grown weary of wandering to the four corners of the earth and in the ten directions. We have come to Your Sanctuary, God.

ਧੇਨੁ ਦੁਧੈ ਤੇ ਬਾਹਰੀ ਕਿਤੈ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਕਾਮ ॥
धेनु दुधै ते बाहरी कितै न आवै काम ॥
Ḋʰén ḋuḋʰæ ṫé baahree kiṫæ na aavæ kaam.
Without milk, a cow serves no purpose.
|
ਜਲ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਾਖ ਕੁਮਲਾਵਤੀ ਉਪਜਹਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦਾਮ ॥
जल बिनु साख कुमलावती उपजहि नाही दाम ॥
Jal bin saakʰ kumlaavaṫee upjahi naahee ḋaam.
Without water, the crop withers, and it will not bring a good price.
|
ਹਰਿ ਨਾਹ ਨ ਮਿਲੀਐ ਸਾਜਨੈ ਕਤ ਪਾਈਐ ਬਿਸਰਾਮ ॥
हरि नाह न मिलीऐ साजनै कत पाईऐ बिसराम ॥
Har naah na milee▫æ saajnæ kaṫ paa▫ee▫æ bisraam.
If we do not meet the Lord, our Friend, how can we find our place of rest?

ਜਿਤੁ ਘਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਪ੍ਰਗਟਈ ਭਠਿ ਨਗਰ ਸੇ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ॥
जितु घरि हरि कंतु न प्रगटई भठि नगर से ग्राम ॥
Jiṫ gʰar har kanṫ na pargata▫ee bʰatʰ nagar sé garaam.
Those homes, those hearts, in which the Husband Lord is not manifest-those towns and villages are like burning furnaces.

ਸ੍ਰਬ ਸੀਗਾਰ ਤੰਬੋਲ ਰਸ ਸਣੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਸਭ ਖਾਮ ॥
स्रब सीगार त्मबोल रस सणु देही सभ खाम ॥
Sarab seegaar ṫambol ras saṇ ḋéhee sabʰ kʰaam.
All decorations, the chewing of betel to sweeten the breath, and the body itself, are all useless and vain.

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੰਤ ਵਿਹੂਣੀਆ ਮੀਤ ਸਜਣ ਸਭਿ ਜਾਮ ॥
प्रभ सुआमी कंत विहूणीआ मीत सजण सभि जाम ॥
Parabʰ su▫aamee kanṫ vihooṇee▫aa meeṫ sajaṇ sabʰ jaam.
Without God, our Husband, our Lord and Master, all friends and companions are like the Messenger of Death.

ਨਾਨਕ ਕੀ ਬੇਨੰਤੀਆ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥
नानक की बेनंतीआ करि किरपा दीजै नामु ॥
Naanak kee bananṫee▫aa kar kirpaa ḋeejæ naam.
This is Nanak’s prayer: “Please show Your Mercy, and bestow Your Name.
|
ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਨਿਹਚਲ ਧਾਮ ॥੧॥
हरि मेलहु सुआमी संगि प्रभ जिस का निहचल धाम ॥१॥
Har mélhu su▫aamee sang parabʰ jis kaa nihchal ḋʰaam. ||1||
O my Lord and Master, please unite me with Yourself, O God, in the Eternal Mansion of Your Presence. ||1||
|
ਚੇਤਿ ਗੋਵਿੰਦੁ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ਹੋਵੈ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਘਣਾ ॥
चेति गोविंदु अराधीऐ होवै अनंदु घणा ॥
Chéṫ govinḋ araaḋʰee▫æ hovæ anand gʰaṇaa.
In the month of Chayt, by meditating on the Lord of the Universe, a deep and profound joy arises.
|
ਸੰਤ ਜਨਾ ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਰਸਨਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਭਣਾ ॥
संत जना मिलि पाईऐ रसना नामु भणा ॥
Sanṫ janaa mil paa▫ee▫æ rasnaa naam bʰaṇaa.
Meeting with the humble Saints, the Lord is found, as we chant His Name with our tongues.
|
ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਏ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਗਣਾ ॥
जिनि पाइआ प्रभु आपणा आए तिसहि गणा ॥
Jin paa▫i▫aa parabʰ aapṇaa aa▫é ṫisėh gaṇaa.
The one who has attained union with the Lord, consider him to be really born.
|
ਇਕੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਜੀਵਣਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਜਣਾ ॥
इकु खिनु तिसु बिनु जीवणा बिरथा जनमु जणा ॥
Ik kʰin ṫis bin jeevṇaa birṫʰaa janam jaṇaa.
Those who live without Him, for even an instant-their lives are rendered useless.
|
ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਪੂਰਿਆ ਰਵਿਆ ਵਿਚਿ ਵਣਾ ॥
जलि थलि महीअलि पूरिआ रविआ विचि वणा ॥
Jal ṫʰal mahee▫al poori▫aa ravi▫aa vich vaṇaa.
The Lord is totally pervading the water, the land, and all space. He is contained in the forests as well.
|
ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਕਿਤੜਾ ਦੁਖੁ ਗਣਾ ॥
सो प्रभु चिति न आवई कितड़ा दुखु गणा ॥
So parabʰ chiṫ na aavee kiṫ▫ṛaa ḋukʰ gaṇaa.
Those who do not remember God-how much pain must they suffer!
|
ਜਿਨੀ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿੰਨਾ ਭਾਗੁ ਮਣਾ ॥
जिनी राविआ सो प्रभू तिंना भागु मणा ॥
Jinee raavi▫aa so parabʰoo ṫinnaa bʰaag maṇaa.
Those who dwell upon their God have great good fortune.
|
ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨ ਕੰਉ ਮਨੁ ਲੋਚਦਾ ਨਾਨਕ ਪਿਆਸ ਮਨਾ ॥
हरि दरसन कंउ मनु लोचदा नानक पिआस मना ॥
Har ḋarsan kaⁿ▫u man lochḋaa Naanak pi▫aas manaa.
My mind yearns for the Blessed Vision of the Lord’s Darshan. O Nanak! My mind is so thirsty!
|
ਚੇਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਏ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਪਾਇ ਲਗਾ ॥੨॥
चेति मिलाए सो प्रभू तिस कै पाइ लगा ॥२॥
Chéṫ milaa▫é so parabʰoo ṫis kæ paa▫é lagaa. ||2||
I touch the feet of one who unites me with God in the month of Chayt. ||2||
|
ਵੈਸਾਖਿ ਧੀਰਨਿ ਕਿਉ ਵਾਢੀਆ ਜਿਨਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਬਿਛੋਹੁ ॥
वैसाखि धीरनि किउ वाढीआ जिना प्रेम बिछोहु ॥
væsaakʰ ḋʰeeran ki▫o vaadʰee▫aa jinaa parém bichʰohu.
In the month of Vaisaakh, how can the bride be patient? She is separated from her Beloved.
|
ਹਰਿ ਸਾਜਨੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਕੈ ਲਗੀ ਮਾਇਆ ਧੋਹੁ ॥
हरि साजनु पुरखु विसारि कै लगी माइआ धोहु ॥
Har saajan purakʰ visaar kæ lagee maa▫i▫aa ḋʰohu.
She has forgotten the Lord, her Life-companion, her Master; she has become attached to Maya, the deceitful one.
|
ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਕਲਤ੍ਰ ਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਧਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਅਵਿਨਾਸੀ ਓਹੁ ॥
पुत्र कलत्र न संगि धना हरि अविनासी ओहु ॥
Puṫar kalṫar na sang ḋʰanaa har avinaasee oh.
Neither son, nor spouse, nor wealth shall go along with you-only the Eternal Lord.
|
ਪਲਚਿ ਪਲਚਿ ਸਗਲੀ ਮੁਈ ਝੂਠੈ ਧੰਧੈ ਮੋਹੁ ॥
पलचि पलचि सगली मुई झूठै धंधै मोहु ॥
Palach palach saglee mu▫ee jʰootʰæ ḋʰanḋʰæ moh.
Entangled and enmeshed in the love of false occupations, the whole world is perishing.
|
ਇਕਸੁ ਹਰਿ ਕੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਗੈ ਲਈਅਹਿ ਖੋਹਿ ॥
इकसु हरि के नाम बिनु अगै लईअहि खोहि ॥
Ikas har ké naam bin agæ la▫ee▫ah kʰohi.
Without the Naam, the Name of the One Lord, they lose their lives in the hereafter.
|
ਦਯੁ ਵਿਸਾਰਿ ਵਿਗੁਚਣਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਇ ॥
दयु विसारि विगुचणा प्रभ बिनु अवरु न कोइ ॥
Ḋa▫yu visaar viguchṇaa parabʰ bin avar na ko▫é.
Forgetting the Merciful Lord, they are ruined. Without God, there is no other at all.
|
ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਚਰਣੀ ਜੋ ਲਗੇ ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਇ ॥
प्रीतम चरणी जो लगे तिन की निरमल सोइ ॥
Pareeṫam charṇee jo lagé ṫin kee nirmal so▫é.
Pure is the reputation of those who are attached to the Feet of the Beloved Lord.
|
