ਛੋਡਹੁ ਕਪਟੁ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਵੈਰਾ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੰਗਿ ਨਿਹਾਰੇ ॥
छोडहु कपटु होइ निरवैरा सो प्रभु संगि निहारे ॥
Cẖẖodahu kapat ho▫e nirvairā so parabẖ sang nihāre.
Abandon your deception, and go beyond vengeance; see God who is always with you.

ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਵਣਜਹੁ ਸਚੁ ਧਨੁ ਸੰਚਹੁ ਕਬਹੂ ਨ ਆਵਹੁ ਹਾਰੇ ॥੧॥
सचु धनु वणजहु सचु धनु संचहु कबहू न आवहु हारे ॥१॥
Sacẖ ḏẖan vaṇjahu sacẖ ḏẖan sancẖahu kabhū na āvhu hāre. ||1||
Deal only in this true wealth and gather in this true wealth, and you shall never suffer loss. ||1||

ਖਾਤ ਖਰਚਤ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਿਖੁਟਤ ਨਾਹੀ ਅਗਨਤ ਭਰੇ ਭੰਡਾਰੇ ॥
खात खरचत किछु निखुटत नाही अगनत भरे भंडारे ॥
Kẖāṯ kẖarcẖaṯ kicẖẖ nikẖutaṯ nāhī agnaṯ bẖare bẖandāre.
Eating and consuming it, it is never exhausted; God's treasures are overflowing.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੋਭਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਵਹੁ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਕੈ ਦੁਆਰੇ ॥੨॥੫੭॥੮੦॥
कहु नानक सोभा संगि जावहु पारब्रहम कै दुआरे ॥२॥५७॥८०॥
Kaho Nānak sobẖā sang jāvhu pārbarahm kai ḏu▫āre. ||2||57||80||
Says Nanak, you shall go home to the Court of the Supreme Lord God with honor and respect. ||2||57||80||

ਪ੍ਰਭ ਜੀ ਮੋਹਿ ਕਵਨੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਬਿਚਾਰਾ ॥
प्रभ जी मोहि कवनु अनाथु बिचारा ॥
Parabẖ jī mohi kavan anāth bicẖārā.
O Dear God, I am wretched and helpless!

ਕਵਨ ਮੂਲ ਤੇ ਮਾਨੁਖੁ ਕਰਿਆ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਤਾਪੁ ਤੁਹਾਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
कवन मूल ते मानुखु करिआ इहु परतापु तुहारा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Kavan mūl ṯe mānukẖ kari▫ā ih parṯāp ṯuhārā. ||1|| rahā▫o.
From what source did you create humans? This is Your Glorious Grandeur. ||1||Pause||

ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸਰਬ ਕੇ ਦਾਤੇ ਗੁਣ ਕਹੇ ਨ ਜਾਹਿ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥
जीअ प्राण सरब के दाते गुण कहे न जाहि अपारा ॥
Jī▫a parāṇ sarab ke ḏāṯe guṇ kahe na jāhi apārā.
You are the Giver of the soul and the breath of life to all; Your Infinite Glories cannot be spoken.

ਸਭ ਕੇ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਮ ਸ੍ਰਬ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਕ ਸਰਬ ਘਟਾਂ ਆਧਾਰਾ ॥੧॥
सभ के प्रीतम स्रब प्रतिपालक सरब घटां आधारा ॥१॥
Sabẖ ke parīṯam sarab parṯipālak sarab gẖatāʼn āḏẖārā. ||1||
You are the Beloved Lord of all, the Cherisher of all, the Support of all hearts. ||1||

ਕੋਇ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੁਮਰੀ ਗਤਿ ਮਿਤਿ ਆਪਹਿ ਏਕ ਪਸਾਰਾ ॥
कोइ न जाणै तुमरी गति मिति आपहि एक पसारा ॥
Ko▫e na jāṇai ṯumrī gaṯ miṯ āpėh ek pasārā.
No one knows Your state and extent. You alone created the expanse of the Universe.

ਸਾਧ ਨਾਵ ਬੈਠਾਵਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਵ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਾਰਾ ॥੨॥੫੮॥੮੧॥
साध नाव बैठावहु नानक भव सागरु पारि उतारा ॥२॥५८॥८१॥
Sāḏẖ nāv baiṯẖāvahu Nānak bẖav sāgar pār uṯārā. ||2||58||81||
Please, give me a seat in the boat of the Holy; O Nanak, thus I shall cross over this terrifying world-ocean, and reach the other shore. ||2||58||81||

Saarang, Fifth Mehl:

ਆਵੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਰਣਿ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ॥
आवै राम सरणि वडभागी ॥
Āvai rām saraṇ vadbẖāgī.
One who comes to the Lord's Sanctuary is very fortunate.
|
ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਹੋਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ਅਵਰਿ ਉਪਾਵ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
एकस बिनु किछु होरु न जाणै अवरि उपाव तिआगी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ėkas bin kicẖẖ hor na jāṇai avar upāv ṯi▫āgī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
He knows of no other than the One Lord. He has renounced all other efforts. ||1||Pause||

ਮਨ ਬਚ ਕ੍ਰਮ ਆਰਾਧੈ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ॥
मन बच क्रम आराधै हरि हरि साधसंगि सुखु पाइआ ॥
Man bacẖ karam ārāḏẖai har har sāḏẖsang sukẖ pā▫i▫ā.
He worships and adores the Lord, Har, Har, in thought, word and deed; in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, he finds peace.

ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਅਕਥ ਕਥਾ ਰਸੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ ॥੧॥
अनद बिनोद अकथ कथा रसु साचै सहजि समाइआ ॥१॥
Anaḏ binoḏ akath kathā ras sācẖai sahj samā▫i▫ā. ||1||
He enjoys bliss and pleasure, and savors the Unspoken Speech of the Lord; he merges intuitively into the True Lord. ||1||
|
ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਜੋ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਕੀਨੋ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਊਤਮ ਬਾਣੀ ॥
करि किरपा जो अपुना कीनो ता की ऊतम बाणी ॥
Kar kirpā jo apunā kīno ṯā kī ūṯam baṇī.
Sublime and exalted is the speech of one whom the Lord, in His Mercy makes His Own.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਸਤਰੀਐ ਜੋ ਰਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੀ ॥੨॥੫੯॥੮੨॥
साधसंगि नानक निसतरीऐ जो राते प्रभ निरबाणी ॥२॥५९॥८२॥
Sāḏẖsang Nānak nisṯarī▫ai jo rāṯe parabẖ nirbāṇī. ||2||59||82||
Those who are imbued with God in the state of Nirvaanaa, O Nanak, are emancipated in the Saadh Sangat. ||2||59||82||

ਜਾ ਤੇ ਸਾਧੂ ਸਰਣਿ ਗਹੀ ॥
जा ते साधू सरणि गही ॥
Jā ṯe sāḏẖū saraṇ gahī.
Since I grasped hold of the Sanctuary of the Holy,
|
ਸਾਂਤਿ ਸਹਜੁ ਮਨਿ ਭਇਓ ਪ੍ਰਗਾਸਾ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਕਛੁ ਨ ਰਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सांति सहजु मनि भइओ प्रगासा बिरथा कछु न रही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Sāʼnṯ sahj man bẖa▫i▫o pargāsā birthā kacẖẖ na rahī. ||1|| rahā▫o.
my mind is illuminated with tranquility, peace and poise, and I am rid of all my pain. ||1||Pause||

ਹੋਹੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਹੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਬਿਨਤੀ ਏਹ ਕਹੀ ॥
होहु क्रिपाल नामु देहु अपुना बिनती एह कही ॥
Hohu kirpāl nām ḏeh apunā binṯī eh kahī.
Please be merciful to me, O Lord, and bless me with Your Name; this is the prayer I offer to You.

ਆਨ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ਬਿਸਰੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਪਾਇਓ ਲਾਭੁ ਸਹੀ ॥੧॥
आन बिउहार बिसरे प्रभ सिमरत पाइओ लाभु सही ॥१॥
Ān bi▫uhār bisre parabẖ simraṯ pā▫i▫o lābẖ sahī. ||1||
I have forgotten my other occupations; remembering God in meditation, I have obtained the true profit. ||1||
|
ਜਹ ਤੇ ਉਪਜਿਓ ਤਹੀ ਸਮਾਨੋ ਸਾਈ ਬਸਤੁ ਅਹੀ ॥
जह ते उपजिओ तही समानो साई बसतु अही ॥
Jah ṯe upji▫o ṯahī samāno sā▫ī basaṯ ahī.
We shall merge again into the One from whom we came; He is the Essence of Being.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭਰਮੁ ਗੁਰਿ ਖੋਇਓ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਹੀ ॥੨॥੬੦॥੮੩॥
कहु नानक भरमु गुरि खोइओ जोती जोति समही ॥२॥६०॥८३॥
Kaho Nānak bẖaram gur kẖo▫i▫o joṯī joṯ samhī. ||2||60||83||
Says Nanak, the Guru has eradicated my doubt; my light has merged into the Light. ||2||60||83||

ਰਸਨਾ ਰਾਮ ਕੋ ਜਸੁ ਗਾਉ ॥
रसना राम को जसु गाउ ॥
Rasnā rām ko jas gā▫o.
O my tongue, sing the Praises of the Lord.

ਆਨ ਸੁਆਦ ਬਿਸਾਰਿ ਸਗਲੇ ਭਲੋ ਨਾਮ ਸੁਆਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
आन सुआद बिसारि सगले भलो नाम सुआउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ān su▫āḏ bisār sagle bẖalo nām su▫ā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
Abandon all other tastes and flavors; the taste of the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is so sublime. ||1||Pause||

ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਬਸਾਇ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਏਕ ਸਿਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਉ ॥
चरन कमल बसाइ हिरदै एक सिउ लिव लाउ ॥
Cẖaran kamal basā▫e hirḏai ek si▫o liv lā▫o.
Enshrine the Lord's Lotus Feet within your heart; let yourself be lovingly attuned to the One Lord.

ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਹੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਜੋਨਿ ਨ ਆਉ ॥੧॥
साधसंगति होहि निरमलु बहुड़ि जोनि न आउ ॥१॥
Sāḏẖsangaṯ hohi nirmal bahuṛ jon na ā▫o. ||1||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall become immaculate and pure; you shall not come to be reincarnated again. ||1||
|
ਜੀਉ ਪ੍ਰਾਨ ਅਧਾਰੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਨਿਥਾਵੇ ਥਾਉ ॥
जीउ प्रान अधारु तेरा तू निथावे थाउ ॥
Jī▫o parān aḏẖār ṯerā ṯū nithāve thā▫o.
You are the Support of the soul and the breath of life; You are the Home of the homeless.

ਸਾਸਿ ਸਾਸਿ ਸਮ੍ਹ੍ਹਾਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਉ ॥੨॥੬੧॥੮੪॥
सासि सासि सम्हालि हरि हरि नानक सद बलि जाउ ॥२॥६१॥८४॥
Sās sās samĥāl har har Nānak saḏ bal jā▫o. ||2||61||84||
With each and every breath, I dwell on the Lord, Har, Har; O Nanak, I am forever a sacrifice to Him. ||2||61||84||

ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਚਰਨ ਨਿਤ ਧਿਆਉ ॥
बैकुंठ गोबिंद चरन नित धिआउ ॥
Baikunṯẖ gobinḏ cẖaran niṯ ḏẖi▫ā▫o.
To meditate on the Lotus Feet of the Lord of the Universe is heaven for me.

ਮੁਕਤਿ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਸਾਧੂ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਨਾਉ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
मुकति पदारथु साधू संगति अम्रितु हरि का नाउ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Mukaṯ paḏārath sāḏẖū sangaṯ amriṯ har kā nā▫o. ||1|| rahā▫o.
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, is the treasure of liberation and the Lord's Ambrosial Name. ||1||Pause||

ਊਤਮ ਕਥਾ ਸੁਣੀਜੈ ਸ੍ਰਵਣੀ ਮਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਭਗਵਾਨ ॥
ऊतम कथा सुणीजै स्रवणी मइआ करहु भगवान ॥
Ūṯam kathā suṇījai sarvaṇī ma▫i▫ā karahu bẖagvān.
O Lord God, please be kind to me, that I may hear with my ears Your Sublime and Exalted Sermon.

ਆਵਤ ਜਾਤ ਦੋਊ ਪਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਪਾਈਐ ਸੁਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥੧॥
आवत जात दोऊ पख पूरन पाईऐ सुख बिस्राम ॥१॥
Āvaṯ jāṯ ḏo▫ū pakẖ pūran pā▫ī▫ai sukẖ bisrām. ||1||
My cycle of coming and going is finally completed, and I have attained peace and tranquility. ||1||
