ਜਨ ਕੇ ਸਾਸ ਸਾਸ ਹੈ ਜੇਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਬਿਰਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਹਰਿ ਬੀਧੇ ॥
जन के सास सास है जेते हरि बिरहि प्रभू हरि बीधे ॥
Jan ké saas saas hæ jéṫé har birėh parabʰoo har beeḋʰé.
Each and every breath of the Lord’s humble servant is pierced through with love of the Lord God.

ਜਿਉ ਜਲ ਕਮਲ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਜਲ ਦੇਖੇ ਸੁਕਲੀਧੇ ॥੨॥
जिउ जल कमल प्रीति अति भारी बिनु जल देखे सुकलीधे ॥२॥
Ji▫o jal kamal pareeṫ aṫ bʰaaree bin jal ḋékʰé sukleeḋʰé. ||2||
As the lotus is totally in love with the water and withers away without seeing the water, so am I in love with the Lord. ||2||

ਜਨ ਜਪਿਓ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਰਹਰਿ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰੀਧੇ ॥
जन जपिओ नामु निरंजनु नरहरि उपदेसि गुरू हरि प्रीधे ॥
Jan japi▫o naam niranjan nar▫har upḋés guroo har pareeḋʰé.
The Lord’s humble servant chants the Immaculate Naam, the Name of the Lord; through the Guru’s Teachings, the Lord reveals Himself.

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕੀ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਲੁ ਨਿਕਸੀ ਹਰਿ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਲਿ ਨੀਧੇ ॥੩॥
जनम जनम की हउमै मलु निकसी हरि अमृति हरि जलि नीधे ॥३॥
Janam janam kee ha▫umæ mal niksee har amriṫ har jal neeḋʰé. ||3||
The filth of egotism which stained me for countless lifetimes has been washed away, by the Ambrosial Water of the Ocean of the Lord. ||3||

ਹਮਰੇ ਕਰਮ ਨ ਬਿਚਰਹੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤੁਮੑ ਪੈਜ ਰਖਹੁ ਅਪਨੀਧੇ ॥
हमरे करम न बिचरहु ठाकुर तुम्ह पैज रखहु अपनीधे ॥
Hamré karam na bichrahu tʰaakur ṫumĥ pæj rakʰahu apneeḋʰé.
Please, do not take my karma into account, O my Lord and Master; please save the honor of Your slave.

ਹਰਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੁਣਿ ਬਿਨਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਵੀਧੇ ॥੪॥੩॥੫॥
हरि भावै सुणि बिनउ बेनती जन नानक सरणि पवीधे ॥४॥३॥५॥
Har bʰaavæ suṇ bin▫o bénṫee jan Naanak saraṇ paveeḋʰé. ||4||3||5||
O Lord, if it pleases You, hear my prayer; servant Nanak seeks Your Sanctuary. ||4||3||5||

ਮਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਭਰਮਿ ਭਰਮਿ ਬਹੁ ਧਾਵੈ ਤਿਲੁ ਘਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਵਾਸਾ ਪਾਈਐ ॥
मनु खिनु खिनु भरमि भरमि बहु धावै तिलु घरि नही वासा पाईऐ ॥
Man kʰin kʰin bʰaram bʰaram baho ḋʰaavæ ṫil gʰar nahee vaasaa paa▫ee▫æ.
Each and every moment, my mind roams and rambles, and runs all over the place. It does not stay in its own home, even for an instant.

ਗੁਰਿ ਅੰਕਸੁ ਸਬਦੁ ਦਾਰੂ ਸਿਰਿ ਧਾਰਿਓ ਘਰਿ ਮੰਦਰਿ ਆਣਿ ਵਸਾਈਐ ॥੧॥
गुरि अंकसु सबदु दारू सिरि धारिओ घरि मंदरि आणि वसाईऐ ॥१॥
Gur ankas sabaḋ ḋaaroo sir ḋʰaari▫o gʰar manḋar aaṇ vasaa▫ee▫æ. ||1||
But when the bridle of the Shabad, the Word of God, is placed over its head, it returns to dwell in its own home. ||1||

ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਹਰਿ ਧਿਆਈਐ ॥
गोबिंद जीउ सतसंगति मेलि हरि धिआईऐ ॥
Gobinḋ jee▫o saṫsangaṫ mél har ḋʰi▫aa▫ee▫æ.
O Dear Lord of the Universe, lead me to join the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation, so that I may meditate on You, Lord.

ਹਉਮੈ ਰੋਗੁ ਗਇਆ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਹਰਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਧਿ ਲਗਾਈਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
हउमै रोगु गइआ सुखु पाइआ हरि सहजि समाधि लगाईऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Ha▫umæ rog ga▫i▫aa sukʰ paa▫i▫aa har sahj samaaḋʰ lagaa▫ee▫æ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
I am cured of the disease of egotism, and I have found peace; I have intuitively entered into the state of Samadhi. ||1||Pause||

ਘਰਿ ਰਤਨ ਲਾਲ ਬਹੁ ਮਾਣਕ ਲਾਦੇ ਮਨੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿਆ ਲਹਿ ਨ ਸਕਾਈਐ ॥
घरि रतन लाल बहु माणक लादे मनु भ्रमिआ लहि न सकाईऐ ॥
Gʰar raṫan laal baho maaṇak laaḋé man bʰarmi▫aa lėh na sakaa▫ee▫æ.
This house is loaded with countless gems, jewels, rubies and emeralds, but the wandering mind cannot find them.

ਜਿਉ ਓਡਾ ਕੂਪੁ ਗੁਹਜ ਖਿਨ ਕਾਢੈ ਤਿਉ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਵਸਤੁ ਲਹਾਈਐ ॥੨॥
जिउ ओडा कूपु गुहज खिन काढै तिउ सतिगुरि वसतु लहाईऐ ॥२॥
Ji▫o odaa koop guhaj kʰin kaadʰæ ṫi▫o saṫgur vasaṫ lahaa▫ee▫æ. ||2||
As the water-diviner finds the hidden water, and the well is then dug in an instant, so do we find the object of the Name through the True Guru. ||2||
|
ਜਿਨ ਐਸਾ ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਾਧੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਆ ਤੇ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਧ੍ਰਿਗੁ ਨਰ ਜੀਵਾਈਐ ॥
जिन ऐसा सतिगुरु साधु न पाइआ ते ध्रिगु ध्रिगु नर जीवाईऐ ॥
Jin æsaa saṫgur saaḋʰ na paa▫i▫aa ṫé ḋʰarig ḋʰarig nar jeevaa▫ee▫æ.
Those who do not find such a Holy True Guru - cursed, cursed are the lives of those people.

ਜਨਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਪੁੰਨਿ ਫਲੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਕਉਡੀ ਬਦਲੈ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੩॥
जनमु पदारथु पुंनि फलु पाइआ कउडी बदलै जाईऐ ॥३॥
Janam paḋaaraṫʰ punn fal paa▫i▫aa ka▫udee baḋlæ jaa▫ee▫æ. ||3||
The treasure of this human life is obtained when one’s virtues bear fruit, but it is lost in exchange for a mere shell. ||3||
|
ਮਧੁਸੂਦਨ ਹਰਿ ਧਾਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੁਰੂ ਮਿਲਾਈਐ ॥
मधुसूदन हरि धारि प्रभ किरपा करि किरपा गुरू मिलाईऐ ॥
Maḋʰusooḋan har ḋʰaar parabʰ kirpaa kar kirpaa guroo milaa▫ee▫æ.
O Lord God, please be merciful to me; be merciful, and lead me to meet the Guru.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਨਿਰਬਾਣ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਐ ॥੪॥੪॥੬॥
जन नानक निरबाण पदु पाइआ मिलि साधू हरि गुण गाईऐ ॥४॥४॥६॥
Jan Naanak nirbaaṇ paḋ paa▫i▫aa mil saaḋʰoo har guṇ gaa▫ee▫æ. ||4||4||6||
Servant Nanak has attained the state of Nirvana; meeting with the Holy people, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ||4||4||6||

ਬਸੰਤੁ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ॥

ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣੁ ਭਇਆ ਦੁਖੁ ਬਿਖਿਆ ਦੇਹ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਸੁੰਞੀ ਸੁੰਞੁ ॥
आवण जाणु भइआ दुखु बिखिआ देह मनमुख सुंञी सुंञु ॥
Aavaṇ jaaṇ bʰa▫i▫aa ḋukʰ bikʰi▫aa ḋéh manmukʰ suñee suñ.
Coming and going, he suffers the pains of vice and corruption; the body of the self-willed Manmukh is desolate and vacant.

ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਖਿਨੁ ਪਲੁ ਨਹੀ ਚੇਤਿਆ ਜਮਿ ਪਕਰੇ ਕਾਲਿ ਸਲੁੰਞੁ ॥੧॥
राम नामु खिनु पलु नही चेतिआ जमि पकरे कालि सलुंञु ॥१॥
Raam naam kʰin pal nahee chéṫi▫aa jam pakré kaal saluñ. ||1||
He does not dwell on the Lord’s Name, even for an instant, and so the Messenger of Death seizes him by his hair. ||1||
|
ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਜੀਉ ਬਿਖੁ ਹਉਮੈ ਮਮਤਾ ਮੁੰਞੁ ॥
गोबिंद जीउ बिखु हउमै ममता मुंञु ॥
Gobinḋ jee▫o bikʰ ha▫umæ mamṫaa muñ.
O Dear Lord of the Universe, please rid me of the poison of egotism and attachment.

ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਿਆਰੀ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਭੁੰਞੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
सतसंगति गुर की हरि पिआरी मिलि संगति हरि रसु भुंञु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Saṫsangaṫ gur kee har pi▫aaree mil sangaṫ har ras bʰuñ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
The Sat Sangat, Guru’s True Congregation is so dear to the Lord. So, join the Sangat, and taste the sublime essence of the Lord. ||1||Pause||
|
ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਸਾਧ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਿ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਸਰਣਾਗਤਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਪੰਞੁ ॥
सतसंगति साध दइआ करि मेलहु सरणागति साधू पंञु ॥
Saṫsangaṫ saaḋʰ ḋa▫i▫aa kar mélhu sarṇaagaṫ saaḋʰoo panñ.
Please be kind to me, and unite me with the Sat Sangat, the True Congregation of the Holy; I seek the Sanctuary of the Holy.

ਹਮ ਡੁਬਦੇ ਪਾਥਰ ਕਾਢਿ ਲੇਹੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮੑ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਦੁਖ ਭੰਞੁ ॥੨॥
हम डुबदे पाथर काढि लेहु प्रभ तुम्ह दीन दइआल दुख भंञु ॥२॥
Ham dubḋé paaṫʰar kaadʰ lého parabʰ ṫumĥ ḋeen ḋa▫i▫aal ḋukʰ bʰañ. ||2||
I am a heavy stone, sinking down - please lift me up and pull me out! O God, Merciful to the meek, You are the Destroyer of sorrow. ||2||
|
ਹਰਿ ਉਸਤਤਿ ਧਾਰਹੁ ਰਿਦ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਸਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਿਲਿ ਬੁਧਿ ਲੰਞੁ ॥
हरि उसतति धारहु रिद अंतरि सुआमी सतसंगति मिलि बुधि लंञु ॥
Har usṫaṫ ḋʰaarahu riḋ anṫar su▫aamee saṫsangaṫ mil buḋʰ lañ.
I enshrine the Praises of my Lord and Master within my heart; joining the Sat Sangat, my intellect is enlightened.

ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੈ ਹਮ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਲਗਾਨੀ ਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਘੁਮਿ ਵੰਞੁ ॥੩॥
हरि नामै हम प्रीति लगानी हम हरि विटहु घुमि वंञु ॥३॥
Har naamæ ham pareeṫ lagaanee ham har vitahu gʰum vañ. ||3||
I have fallen in love with the Lord’s Name; I am a sacrifice to the Lord. ||3||
|
ਜਨ ਕੇ ਪੂਰਿ ਮਨੋਰਥ ਹਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਦੇਵਹੁ ਹਰਿ ਲੰਞੁ ॥
जन के पूरि मनोरथ हरि प्रभ हरि नामु देवहु हरि लंञु ॥
Jan ké poor manoraṫʰ har parabʰ har naam ḋévhu har lañ.
O Lord God, please fulfill the desires of Your humble servant; please bless me with Your Name, O Lord.

ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਅਨਦੁ ਭਇਆ ਹੈ ਗੁਰਿ ਮੰਤ੍ਰੁ ਦੀਓ ਹਰਿ ਭੰਞੁ ॥੪॥੫॥੭॥੧੨॥੧੮॥੭॥੩੭॥
जन नानक मनि तनि अनदु भइआ है गुरि मंत्रु दीओ हरि भंञु ॥४॥५॥७॥१२॥१८॥७॥३७॥
Jan Naanak man ṫan anaḋ bʰa▫i▫aa hæ gur manṫar ḋee▫o har bʰañ. ||4||5||7||12||18||7||37||
Servant Nanak’s mind and body are filled with ecstasy; the Guru has blessed him with the Mantra of the Lord’s Name. ||4||5||7||12||18||7||37||
