ਅਨਹਦੁ ਵਾਜੈ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭਉ ਭਾਜੈ
अनहदु वाजै भ्रमु भउ भाजै ॥
Anhaḏ vājai bẖaram bẖa▫o bẖājai.
When the unstruck sound current resounds, doubt and fear run away.

ਸਗਲ ਬਿਆਪਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਛਾਜੈ
सगल बिआपि रहिआ प्रभु छाजै ॥
Sagal bi▫āp rahi▫ā parabẖ cẖẖājai.
God is all-pervading, giving shade to all.

ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੂ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਜਾਤਾ ਦਰਿ ਸੋਹੈ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੦॥
सभ तेरी तू गुरमुखि जाता दरि सोहै गुण गाइदा ॥१०॥
Sabẖ ṯerī ṯū gurmukẖ jāṯā ḏar sohai guṇ gā▫iḏā. ||10||
All belong to You; to the Gurmukhs, You are known. Singing Your Praises, they look beautiful in Your Court. ||10||

ਆਦਿ ਨਿਰੰਜਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਸੋਈ
आदि निरंजनु निरमलु सोई ॥
Āḏ niranjan nirmal so▫ī.
He is the Primal Lord, immaculate and pure.

ਅਵਰੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਕੋਈ
अवरु न जाणा दूजा कोई ॥
Avar na jāṇā ḏūjā ko▫ī.
I know of no other at all.

ਏਕੰਕਾਰੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵੈ ਹਉਮੈ ਗਰਬੁ ਗਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੧॥
एकंकारु वसै मनि भावै हउमै गरबु गवाइदा ॥११॥
Ėkankār vasai man bẖāvai ha▫umai garab gavā▫iḏā. ||11||
The One Universal Creator Lord dwells within, and is pleasing to the mind of those who banish egotism and pride. ||11||

ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਪੀਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ
अम्रितु पीआ सतिगुरि दीआ ॥
Amriṯ pī▫ā saṯgur ḏī▫ā.
I drink in the Ambrosial Nectar, given by the True Guru.

ਅਵਰੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਦੂਆ ਤੀਆ
अवरु न जाणा दूआ तीआ ॥
Avar na jāṇā ḏū▫ā ṯī▫ā.
I do not know any other second or third.

ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਸੁ ਅਪਰ ਪਰੰਪਰੁ ਪਰਖਿ ਖਜਾਨੈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੨॥
एको एकु सु अपर पर्मपरु परखि खजानै पाइदा ॥१२॥
Ėko ek so apar parampar parakẖ kẖajānai pā▫iḏā. ||12||
He is the One, Unique, Infinite and Endless Lord; He evaluates all beings and places some in His treasury. ||12||

ਗਿਆਨੁ ਧਿਆਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰਾ
गिआनु धिआनु सचु गहिर ग्मभीरा ॥
Gi▫ān ḏẖi▫ān sacẖ gahir gambẖīrā.
Spiritual wisdom and meditation on the True Lord are deep and profound.

ਕੋਇ ਜਾਣੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਚੀਰਾ
कोइ न जाणै तेरा चीरा ॥
Ko▫e na jāṇai ṯerā cẖīrā.
No one knows Your expanse.

ਜੇਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਜਾਚੈ ਕਰਮਿ ਮਿਲੈ ਸੋ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੩॥
जेती है तेती तुधु जाचै करमि मिलै सो पाइदा ॥१३॥
Jeṯī hai ṯeṯī ṯuḏẖ jācẖai karam milai so pā▫iḏā. ||13||
All that are, beg from You; You are attained only by Your Grace. ||13||

ਕਰਮੁ ਧਰਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਹਾਥਿ ਤੁਮਾਰੈ
करमु धरमु सचु हाथि तुमारै ॥
Karam ḏẖaram sacẖ hāth ṯumārai.
You hold karma and Dharma in Your hands, O True Lord.

ਵੇਪਰਵਾਹ ਅਖੁਟ ਭੰਡਾਰੈ
वेपरवाह अखुट भंडारै ॥
veparvāh akẖut bẖandārai.
O Independent Lord, Your treasures are inexhaustible.

ਤੂ ਦਇਆਲੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਸਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਆਪੇ ਮੇਲਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੪॥
तू दइआलु किरपालु सदा प्रभु आपे मेलि मिलाइदा ॥१४॥
Ŧū ḏa▫i▫āl kirpāl saḏā parabẖ āpe mel milā▫iḏā. ||14||
You are forever kind and compassionate, God. You unite in Your Union. ||14||

ਆਪੇ ਦੇਖਿ ਦਿਖਾਵੈ ਆਪੇ
आपे देखि दिखावै आपे ॥
Āpe ḏekẖ ḏikẖāvai āpe.
You Yourself see, and cause Yourself to be seen.

ਆਪੇ ਥਾਪਿ ਉਥਾਪੇ ਆਪੇ
आपे थापि उथापे आपे ॥
Āpe thāp uthāpe āpe.
You Yourself establish, and You Yourself disestablish.

ਆਪੇ ਜੋੜਿ ਵਿਛੋੜੇ ਕਰਤਾ ਆਪੇ ਮਾਰਿ ਜੀਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੫॥
आपे जोड़ि विछोड़े करता आपे मारि जीवाइदा ॥१५॥
Āpe joṛ vicẖẖoṛe karṯā āpe mār jīvā▫iḏā. ||15||
The Creator Himself unites and separates; He Himself kills and rejuvenates. ||15||

ਜੇਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇਤੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਅੰਦਰਿ
जेती है तेती तुधु अंदरि ॥
Jeṯī hai ṯeṯī ṯuḏẖ anḏar.
As much as there is, is contained within You.

ਦੇਖਹਿ ਆਪਿ ਬੈਸਿ ਬਿਜ ਮੰਦਰਿ
देखहि आपि बैसि बिज मंदरि ॥
Ḏekẖėh āp bais bij manḏar.
You gaze upon Your creation, sitting within Your royal palace.

ਨਾਨਕੁ ਸਾਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਬੇਨੰਤੀ ਹਰਿ ਦਰਸਨਿ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੧੩॥
नानकु साचु कहै बेनंती हरि दरसनि सुखु पाइदा ॥१६॥१॥१३॥
Nānak sācẖ kahai benanṯī har ḏarsan sukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||16||1||13||
Nanak offers this true prayer; gazing upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan, I have found peace. ||16||1||13||

ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ
मारू महला १ ॥
Mārū mėhlā 1.
Maaroo, First Mehl:

ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਵਾ ਜੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਵਾ
दरसनु पावा जे तुधु भावा ॥
Ḏarsan pāvā je ṯuḏẖ bẖāvā.
If I am pleasing to You, Lord, then I obtain the Blessed Vision of Your Darshan.

ਭਾਇ ਭਗਤਿ ਸਾਚੇ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਾ
भाइ भगति साचे गुण गावा ॥
Bẖā▫e bẖagaṯ sācẖe guṇ gāvā.
In loving devotional worship, O True Lord, I sing Your Glorious Praises.

ਤੁਧੁ ਭਾਣੇ ਤੂ ਭਾਵਹਿ ਕਰਤੇ ਆਪੇ ਰਸਨ ਰਸਾਇਦਾ ॥੧॥
तुधु भाणे तू भावहि करते आपे रसन रसाइदा ॥१॥
Ŧuḏẖ bẖāṇe ṯū bẖāvėh karṯe āpe rasan rasā▫iḏā. ||1||
By Your Will, O Creator Lord, You have become pleasing to me, and so sweet to my tongue. ||1||

ਸੋਹਨਿ ਭਗਤ ਪ੍ਰਭੂ ਦਰਬਾਰੇ
सोहनि भगत प्रभू दरबारे ॥
Sohan bẖagaṯ parabẖū ḏarbāre.
The devotees look beautiful in the Darbaar, the Court of God.

ਮੁਕਤੁ ਭਏ ਹਰਿ ਦਾਸ ਤੁਮਾਰੇ
मुकतु भए हरि दास तुमारे ॥
Mukaṯ bẖa▫e har ḏās ṯumāre.
Your slaves, Lord, are liberated.

ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਇ ਤੇਰੈ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਦਾ ॥੨॥
आपु गवाइ तेरै रंगि राते अनदिनु नामु धिआइदा ॥२॥
Āp gavā▫e ṯerai rang rāṯe an▫ḏin nām ḏẖi▫ā▫iḏā. ||2||
Eradicating self-conceit, they are attuned to Your Love; night and day, they meditate on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||2||

ਈਸਰੁ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾ ਦੇਵੀ ਦੇਵਾ
ईसरु ब्रहमा देवी देवा ॥
Īsar barahmā ḏevī ḏevā.
Shiva, Brahma, gods and goddesses,

ਇੰਦ੍ਰ ਤਪੇ ਮੁਨਿ ਤੇਰੀ ਸੇਵਾ
इंद्र तपे मुनि तेरी सेवा ॥
Inḏar ṯape mun ṯerī sevā.
Indra, ascetics and silent sages serve You.

ਜਤੀ ਸਤੀ ਕੇਤੇ ਬਨਵਾਸੀ ਅੰਤੁ ਕੋਈ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੩॥
जती सती केते बनवासी अंतु न कोई पाइदा ॥३॥
Jaṯī saṯī keṯe banvāsī anṯ na ko▫ī pā▫iḏā. ||3||
Celibates, givers of charity and the many forest-dwellers have not found the Lord's limits. ||3||

ਵਿਣੁ ਜਾਣਾਏ ਕੋਇ ਜਾਣੈ
विणु जाणाए कोइ न जाणै ॥
viṇ jāṇā▫e ko▫e na jāṇai.
No one knows You, unless You let them know You.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੇ ਸੁ ਆਪਣ ਭਾਣੈ
जो किछु करे सु आपण भाणै ॥
Jo kicẖẖ kare so āpaṇ bẖāṇai.
Whatever is done, is by Your Will.

ਲਖ ਚਉਰਾਸੀਹ ਜੀਅ ਉਪਾਏ ਭਾਣੈ ਸਾਹ ਲਵਾਇਦਾ ॥੪॥
लख चउरासीह जीअ उपाए भाणै साह लवाइदा ॥४॥
Lakẖ cẖa▫orāsīh jī▫a upā▫e bẖāṇai sāh lavā▫iḏā. ||4||
You created the 8.4 million species of beings; by Your Will, they draw their breath. ||4||

ਜੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਭਾਵੈ ਸੋ ਨਿਹਚਉ ਹੋਵੈ
जो तिसु भावै सो निहचउ होवै ॥
Jo ṯis bẖāvai so nihcẖa▫o hovai.
Whatever is pleasing to Your Will, undoubtedly comes to pass.

ਮਨਮੁਖੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਣਾਏ ਰੋਵੈ
मनमुखु आपु गणाए रोवै ॥
Manmukẖ āp gaṇā▫e rovai.
The self-willed manmukh shows off, and comes to grief.

ਨਾਵਹੁ ਭੁਲਾ ਠਉਰ ਪਾਏ ਆਇ ਜਾਇ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੫॥
नावहु भुला ठउर न पाए आइ जाइ दुखु पाइदा ॥५॥
Nāvhu bẖulā ṯẖa▫ur na pā▫e ā▫e jā▫e ḏukẖ pā▫iḏā. ||5||
Forgetting the Name, he finds no place of rest; coming and going in reincarnation, he suffers in pain. ||5||

ਨਿਰਮਲ ਕਾਇਆ ਊਜਲ ਹੰਸਾ
निरमल काइआ ऊजल हंसा ॥
Nirmal kā▫i▫ā ūjal hansā.
Pure is the body, and immaculate is the swan-soul;

ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਚਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਰੰਜਨ ਅੰਸਾ
तिसु विचि नामु निरंजन अंसा ॥
Ŧis vicẖ nām niranjan ansā.
within it is the immaculate essence of the Naam.

ਸਗਲੇ ਦੂਖ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਕਰਿ ਪੀਵੈ ਬਾਹੁੜਿ ਦੂਖੁ ਪਾਇਦਾ ॥੬॥
सगले दूख अम्रितु करि पीवै बाहुड़ि दूखु न पाइदा ॥६॥
Sagle ḏūkẖ amriṯ kar pīvai bāhuṛ ḏūkẖ na pā▫iḏā. ||6||
Such a being drinks in all his pains like Ambrosial Nectar; he never suffers sorrow again. ||6||

ਬਹੁ ਸਾਦਹੁ ਦੂਖੁ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ
बहु सादहु दूखु परापति होवै ॥
Baho sāḏahu ḏūkẖ parāpaṯ hovai.
For his excessive indulgences, he receives only pain;

ਭੋਗਹੁ ਰੋਗ ਸੁ ਅੰਤਿ ਵਿਗੋਵੈ
भोगहु रोग सु अंति विगोवै ॥
Bẖogahu rog so anṯ vigovai.
from his enjoyments, he contracts diseases, and in the end, he wastes away.

ਹਰਖਹੁ ਸੋਗੁ ਮਿਟਈ ਕਬਹੂ ਵਿਣੁ ਭਾਣੇ ਭਰਮਾਇਦਾ ॥੭॥
हरखहु सोगु न मिटई कबहू विणु भाणे भरमाइदा ॥७॥
Harkẖahu sog na mit▫ī kabhū viṇ bẖāṇe bẖarmā▫iḏā. ||7||
His pleasure can never erase his pain; without accepting the Lord's Will, he wanders lost and confused. ||7||

ਗਿਆਨ ਵਿਹੂਣੀ ਭਵੈ ਸਬਾਈ
गिआन विहूणी भवै सबाई ॥
Gi▫ān vihūṇī bẖavai sabā▫ī.
Without spiritual wisdom, they all just wander around.

ਸਾਚਾ ਰਵਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਈ
साचा रवि रहिआ लिव लाई ॥
Sācẖā rav rahi▫ā liv lā▫ī.
The True Lord is pervading and permeating everywhere, lovingly engaged.

ਨਿਰਭਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਸਚੁ ਜਾਤਾ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਦਾ ॥੮॥
निरभउ सबदु गुरू सचु जाता जोती जोति मिलाइदा ॥८॥
Nirbẖa▫o sabaḏ gurū sacẖ jāṯā joṯī joṯ milā▫iḏā. ||8||
The Fearless Lord is known through the Shabad, the Word of the True Guru; one's light merges into the Light. ||8||

ਅਟਲੁ ਅਡੋਲੁ ਅਤੋਲੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੇ
अटलु अडोलु अतोलु मुरारे ॥
Atal adol aṯol murāre.
He is the eternal, unchanging, immeasurable Lord.

ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਢਾਹੇ ਫੇਰਿ ਉਸਾਰੇ
खिन महि ढाहे फेरि उसारे ॥
Kẖin mėh dẖāhi fer usāre.
In an instant, He destroys, and then reconstructs.

ਰੂਪੁ ਰੇਖਿਆ ਮਿਤਿ ਨਹੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਭੇਦਿ ਪਤੀਆਇਦਾ ॥੯॥
रूपु न रेखिआ मिति नही कीमति सबदि भेदि पतीआइदा ॥९॥
Rūp na rekẖ▫i▫ā miṯ nahī kīmaṯ sabaḏ bẖeḏ paṯī▫ā▫iḏā. ||9||
He has no form or shape, no limit or value. Pierced by the Shabad, one is satisfied. ||9||
