ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕੇ ਸੇਵਕ ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਮਾਣਹਿ
ठाकुर के सेवक हरि रंग माणहि ॥
Ŧẖākur ke sevak har rang māṇėh.
The servant of the Lord and Master enjoys the Love and Affection of the Lord.

ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਕਾ ਸੋ ਸੇਵਕ ਕਾ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਹੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜਾਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
जो किछु ठाकुर का सो सेवक का सेवकु ठाकुर ही संगि जाहरु जीउ ॥३॥
Jo kicẖẖ ṯẖākur kā so sevak kā sevak ṯẖākur hī sang jāhar jī▫o. ||3||
That which belongs to the Lord and Master, belongs to His servant. The servant becomes distinguished in association with his Lord and Master. ||3||

ਅਪੁਨੈ ਠਾਕੁਰਿ ਜੋ ਪਹਿਰਾਇਆ
अपुनै ठाकुरि जो पहिराइआ ॥
Apunai ṯẖākur jo pėhrā▫i▫ā.
He, whom the Lord and Master dresses in the robes of honor,

ਬਹੁਰਿ ਲੇਖਾ ਪੁਛਿ ਬੁਲਾਇਆ
बहुरि न लेखा पुछि बुलाइआ ॥
Bahur na lekẖā pucẖẖ bulā▫i▫ā.
is not called to answer for his account any longer.

ਤਿਸੁ ਸੇਵਕ ਕੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਸੋ ਗਹਿਰ ਗਭੀਰਾ ਗਉਹਰੁ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੮॥੨੫॥
तिसु सेवक कै नानक कुरबाणी सो गहिर गभीरा गउहरु जीउ ॥४॥१८॥२५॥
Ŧis sevak kai Nānak kurbāṇī so gahir gabẖīrā ga▫uhar jī▫o. ||4||18||25||
Nanak is a sacrifice to that servant. He is the pearl of the deep and unfathomable Ocean of God. ||4||18||25||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਸਭ ਕਿਛੁ ਘਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਨਾਹੀ
सभ किछु घर महि बाहरि नाही ॥
Sabẖ kicẖẖ gẖar mėh bāhar nāhī.
Everything is within the home of the self; there is nothing beyond.

ਬਾਹਰਿ ਟੋਲੈ ਸੋ ਭਰਮਿ ਭੁਲਾਹੀ
बाहरि टोलै सो भरमि भुलाही ॥
Bāhar tolai so bẖaram bẖulāhī.
One who searches outside is deluded by doubt.

ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਿਨੀ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸੋ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸੁਹੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
गुर परसादी जिनी अंतरि पाइआ सो अंतरि बाहरि सुहेला जीउ ॥१॥
Gur parsādī jinī anṯar pā▫i▫ā so anṯar bāhar suhelā jī▫o. ||1||
By Guru's Grace, one who has found the Lord within is happy, inwardly and outwardly. ||1||

ਝਿਮਿ ਝਿਮਿ ਵਰਸੈ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਧਾਰਾ
झिमि झिमि वरसै अम्रित धारा ॥
Jẖim jẖim varsai amriṯ ḏẖārā.
Slowly, gently, drop by drop, the stream of nectar trickles down within.

ਮਨੁ ਪੀਵੈ ਸੁਨਿ ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਾ
मनु पीवै सुनि सबदु बीचारा ॥
Man pīvai sun sabaḏ bīcẖārā.
The mind drinks it in, hearing and reflecting on the Word of the Shabad.

ਅਨਦ ਬਿਨੋਦ ਕਰੇ ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਕੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
अनद बिनोद करे दिन राती सदा सदा हरि केला जीउ ॥२॥
Anaḏ binoḏ kare ḏin rāṯī saḏā saḏā har kelā jī▫o. ||2||
It enjoys bliss and ecstasy day and night, and plays with the Lord forever and ever. ||2||

ਜਨਮ ਜਨਮ ਕਾ ਵਿਛੁੜਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ
जनम जनम का विछुड़िआ मिलिआ ॥
Janam janam kā vicẖẖuṛi▫ā mili▫ā.
I have now been united with the Lord after having been separated and cut off from Him for so many lifetimes;

ਸਾਧ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਤੇ ਸੂਕਾ ਹਰਿਆ
साध क्रिपा ते सूका हरिआ ॥
Sāḏẖ kirpā ṯe sūkā hari▫ā.
by the Grace of the Holy Saint, the dried-up branches have blossomed forth again in their greenery.

ਸੁਮਤਿ ਪਾਏ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਏ ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਏ ਮੇਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
सुमति पाए नामु धिआए गुरमुखि होए मेला जीउ ॥३॥
Sumaṯ pā▫e nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e gurmukẖ ho▫e melā jī▫o. ||3||
I have obtained this sublime understanding, and I meditate on the Naam; as Gurmukh, I have met the Lord. ||3||

ਜਲ ਤਰੰਗੁ ਜਿਉ ਜਲਹਿ ਸਮਾਇਆ
जल तरंगु जिउ जलहि समाइआ ॥
Jal ṯarang ji▫o jalėh samā▫i▫ā.
As the waves of water merge again with the water,

ਤਿਉ ਜੋਤੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਮਿਲਾਇਆ
तिउ जोती संगि जोति मिलाइआ ॥
Ŧi▫o joṯī sang joṯ milā▫i▫ā.
so does my light merge again into the Light.

ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਭ੍ਰਮ ਕਟੇ ਕਿਵਾੜਾ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਹੋਈਐ ਜਉਲਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੧੯॥੨੬॥
कहु नानक भ्रम कटे किवाड़ा बहुड़ि न होईऐ जउला जीउ ॥४॥१९॥२६॥
Kaho Nānak bẖaram kate kivāṛā bahuṛ na ho▫ī▫ai ja▫ulā jī▫o. ||4||19||26||
Says Nanak, the veil of illusion has been cut away, and I shall not go out wandering any more. ||4||19||26||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥
Mājẖ mėhlā 5.
Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਤਿਸੁ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਤੂੰ ਸੁਣਿਆ
तिसु कुरबाणी जिनि तूं सुणिआ ॥
Ŧis kurbāṇī jin ṯūʼn suṇi▫ā.
I am a sacrifice to those who have heard of You.

ਤਿਸੁ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਰਸਨਾ ਭਣਿਆ
तिसु बलिहारी जिनि रसना भणिआ ॥
Ŧis balihārī jin rasnā bẖaṇi▫ā.
I am a sacrifice to those whose tongues speak of You.

ਵਾਰਿ ਵਾਰਿ ਜਾਈ ਤਿਸੁ ਵਿਟਹੁ ਜੋ ਮਨਿ ਤਨਿ ਤੁਧੁ ਆਰਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
वारि वारि जाई तिसु विटहु जो मनि तनि तुधु आराधे जीउ ॥१॥
vār vār jā▫ī ṯis vitahu jo man ṯan ṯuḏẖ ārāḏẖe jī▫o. ||1||
Again and again, I am a sacrifice to those who meditate on You with mind and body. ||1||

ਤਿਸੁ ਚਰਣ ਪਖਾਲੀ ਜੋ ਤੇਰੈ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਾਲੈ
तिसु चरण पखाली जो तेरै मारगि चालै ॥
Ŧis cẖaraṇ pakẖālī jo ṯerai mārag cẖālai.
I wash the feet of those who walk upon Your Path.

ਨੈਨ ਨਿਹਾਲੀ ਤਿਸੁ ਪੁਰਖ ਦਇਆਲੈ
नैन निहाली तिसु पुरख दइआलै ॥
Nain nihālī ṯis purakẖ ḏa▫i▫ālai.
With my eyes, I long to behold those kind people.

ਮਨੁ ਦੇਵਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਸਾਜਨ ਜਿਨਿ ਗੁਰ ਮਿਲਿ ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਲਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
मनु देवा तिसु अपुने साजन जिनि गुर मिलि सो प्रभु लाधे जीउ ॥२॥
Man ḏevā ṯis apune sājan jin gur mil so parabẖ lāḏẖe jī▫o. ||2||
I offer my mind to those friends, who have met the Guru and found God. ||2||

ਸੇ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਜਿਨਿ ਤੁਮ ਜਾਣੇ
से वडभागी जिनि तुम जाणे ॥
Se vadbẖāgī jin ṯum jāṇe.
Very fortunate are those who know You.

ਸਭ ਕੈ ਮਧੇ ਅਲਿਪਤ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੇ
सभ कै मधे अलिपत निरबाणे ॥
Sabẖ kai maḏẖe alipaṯ nirbāṇe.
In the midst of all, they remain detached and balanced in Nirvaanaa.

ਸਾਧ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਉਨਿ ਭਉਜਲੁ ਤਰਿਆ ਸਗਲ ਦੂਤ ਉਨਿ ਸਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
साध कै संगि उनि भउजलु तरिआ सगल दूत उनि साधे जीउ ॥३॥
Sāḏẖ kai sang un bẖa▫ojal ṯari▫ā sagal ḏūṯ un sāḏẖe jī▫o. ||3||
In the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, they cross over the terrifying world-ocean, and conquer all their evil passions. ||3||

ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਿ ਪਰਿਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ
तिन की सरणि परिआ मनु मेरा ॥
Ŧin kī saraṇ pari▫ā man merā.
My mind has entered their Sanctuary.

ਮਾਣੁ ਤਾਣੁ ਤਜਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਅੰਧੇਰਾ
माणु ताणु तजि मोहु अंधेरा ॥
Māṇ ṯāṇ ṯaj moh anḏẖerā.
I have renounced my pride in my own strength, and the darkness of emotional attachment.

ਨਾਮੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਦੀਜੈ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਤਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਅਗਮ ਅਗਾਧੇ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੨੭॥
नामु दानु दीजै नानक कउ तिसु प्रभ अगम अगाधे जीउ ॥४॥२०॥२७॥
Nām ḏān ḏījai Nānak ka▫o ṯis parabẖ agam agāḏẖe jī▫o. ||4||20||27||
Please bless Nanak with the Gift of the Naam, the Name of the Inaccessible and Unfathomable God. ||4||20||27||

ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ
माझ महला ५ ॥

Maajh, Fifth Mehl:

ਤੂੰ ਪੇਡੁ ਸਾਖ ਤੇਰੀ ਫੂਲੀ
तूं पेडु साख तेरी फूली ॥
Ŧūʼn ped sākẖ ṯerī fūlī.
You are the tree; Your branches have blossomed forth.

ਤੂੰ ਸੂਖਮੁ ਹੋਆ ਅਸਥੂਲੀ
तूं सूखमु होआ असथूली ॥
Ŧūʼn sūkẖam ho▫ā asthūlī.
From the very small and subtle, You have become huge and manifest.

ਤੂੰ ਜਲਨਿਧਿ ਤੂੰ ਫੇਨੁ ਬੁਦਬੁਦਾ ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਭਾਲੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥
तूं जलनिधि तूं फेनु बुदबुदा तुधु बिनु अवरु न भालीऐ जीउ ॥१॥
Ŧūʼn jalniḏẖ ṯūʼn fen buḏbuḏā ṯuḏẖ bin avar na bẖālī▫ai jī▫o. ||1||
You are the Ocean of Water, and You are the foam and the bubbles on its surface. I cannot see any other except You, Lord. ||1||

ਤੂੰ ਸੂਤੁ ਮਣੀਏ ਭੀ ਤੂੰਹੈ
तूं सूतु मणीए भी तूंहै ॥
Ŧūʼn sūṯ maṇī▫e bẖī ṯūʼnhai.
You are the thread, and You are also the beads.

ਤੂੰ ਗੰਠੀ ਮੇਰੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਤੂੰਹੈ
तूं गंठी मेरु सिरि तूंहै ॥
Ŧūʼn ganṯẖī mer sir ṯūʼnhai.
You are the knot, and You are the primary bead of the maalaa.

ਆਦਿ ਮਧਿ ਅੰਤਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ਅਵਰੁ ਕੋਇ ਦਿਖਾਲੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥
आदि मधि अंति प्रभु सोई अवरु न कोइ दिखालीऐ जीउ ॥२॥
Āḏ maḏẖ anṯ parabẖ so▫ī avar na ko▫e ḏikẖālī▫ai jī▫o. ||2||
In the beginning, in the middle and in the end, there is God. I cannot see any other except You, Lord. ||2||

ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਗੁਣੁ ਸਰਗੁਣੁ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ
तूं निरगुणु सरगुणु सुखदाता ॥
Ŧūʼn nirguṇ sarguṇ sukẖ▫ḏāṯa.
You transcend all qualities, and You possess the supreme qualities. You are the Giver of peace.

ਤੂੰ ਨਿਰਬਾਣੁ ਰਸੀਆ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਤਾ
तूं निरबाणु रसीआ रंगि राता ॥
Ŧūʼn nirbāṇ rasī▫ā rang rāṯā.
You are detached in Nirvaanaa, and You are the Enjoyer, imbued with love.

ਅਪਣੇ ਕਰਤਬ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣਹਿ ਆਪੇ ਤੁਧੁ ਸਮਾਲੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥
अपणे करतब आपे जाणहि आपे तुधु समालीऐ जीउ ॥३॥
Apṇe karṯab āpe jāṇėh āpe ṯuḏẖ samālī▫ai jī▫o. ||3||
You Yourself know Your Own Ways; You dwell upon Yourself. ||3||

ਤੂੰ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਕੁ ਫੁਨਿ ਆਪੇ
तूं ठाकुरु सेवकु फुनि आपे ॥
Ŧūʼn ṯẖākur sevak fun āpe.
You are the Master, and then again, You are the servant.

ਤੂੰ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਆਪੇ
तूं गुपतु परगटु प्रभ आपे ॥
Ŧūʼn gupaṯ pargat parabẖ āpe.
O God, You Yourself are the Manifest and the Unmanifest.

ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਸਦਾ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਇਕ ਭੋਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲੀਐ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੧॥੨੮॥
नानक दासु सदा गुण गावै इक भोरी नदरि निहालीऐ जीउ ॥४॥२१॥२८॥
Nānak ḏās saḏā guṇ gāvai ik bẖorī naḏar nihālī▫ai jī▫o. ||4||21||28||
Slave Nanak sings Your Glorious Praises forever. Please, just for a moment, bless him with Your Glance of Grace. ||4||21||28||
