ਪੰਡਿਤੁ ਆਖਾਏ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਰਾਹੀ ਕੋਰੜ ਮੋਠ ਜਿਨੇਹਾ ॥ पंडितु आखाए बहुती राही कोरड़ मोठ जिनेहा ॥ Pandiṯ ākā▫e bahuṯī rāhī koraṛ moṯẖ jinehā. He is called a Pandit, a religious scholar, and yet he wanders along many pathways. He is as hard as uncooked beans. ਮਃ ੫ ॥ मः ५ ॥ Mėhlā 5. Fifth Mehl: ਅੰਦਰਿ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਿਤ ਭਰਮਿ ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਤਿਸਟਸਿ ਨਾਹੀ ਦੇਹਾ ॥ अंदरि मोहु नित भरमि विआपिआ तिसटसि नाही देहा ॥ Anḏar moh niṯ bẖaram vi▫āpi▫ā ṯistas nāhī ḏehā. He is filled with attachment, and constantly engrossed in doubt; his body cannot hold still. ਕੂੜੀ ਆਵੈ ਕੂੜੀ ਜਾਵੈ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੀ ਨਿਤ ਜੋਹਾ ॥ कूड़ी आवै कूड़ी जावै माइआ की नित जोहा ॥ Kūṛī āvai kūṛī jāvai mā▫i▫ā kī niṯ johā. False is his coming, and false is his going; he is continually on the lookout for Maya. ਸਚੁ ਕਹੈ ਤਾ ਛੋਹੋ ਆਵੈ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਹੁਤਾ ਰੋਹਾ ॥ सचु कहै ता छोहो आवै अंतरि बहुता रोहा ॥ Sacẖ kahai ṯā cẖẖoho āvai anṯar bahuṯā rohā. If someone speaks the truth, then he is aggravated; he is totally filled with anger. ਵਿਆਪਿਆ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਕੁਬੁਧਿ ਕੁਮੂੜਾ ਮਨਿ ਲਾਗਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਮੋਹਾ ॥ विआपिआ दुरमति कुबुधि कुमूड़ा मनि लागा तिसु मोहा ॥ vi▫āpi▫ā ḏurmaṯ kubuḏẖ kumūṛā man lāgā ṯis mohā. The evil fool is engrossed in evil-mindedness and false intellectualizations; his mind is attached to emotional attachment. ਠਗੈ ਸੇਤੀ ਠਗੁ ਰਲਿ ਆਇਆ ਸਾਥੁ ਭਿ ਇਕੋ ਜੇਹਾ ॥ ठगै सेती ठगु रलि आइआ साथु भि इको जेहा ॥ Ŧẖagai seṯī ṯẖag ral ā▫i▫ā sāth bẖė iko jehā. The deceiver abides with the five deceivers; it is a gathering of like minds. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸਰਾਫੁ ਨਦਰੀ ਵਿਚਦੋ ਕਢੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਘੜਿ ਆਇਆ ਲੋਹਾ ॥ सतिगुरु सराफु नदरी विचदो कढै तां उघड़ि आइआ लोहा ॥ Saṯgur sarāf naḏrī vicẖḏo kadẖai ṯāʼn ugẖaṛ ā▫i▫ā lohā. And when the Jeweler, the True Guru, appraises him, then he is exposed as mere iron. ਬਹੁਤੇਰੀ ਥਾਈ ਰਲਾਇ ਰਲਾਇ ਦਿਤਾ ਉਘੜਿਆ ਪੜਦਾ ਅਗੈ ਆਇ ਖਲੋਹਾ ॥ बहुतेरी थाई रलाइ रलाइ दिता उघड़िआ पड़दा अगै आइ खलोहा ॥ Bahuṯerī thā▫ī ralā▫e ralā▫e ḏiṯā ugẖ▫ṛi▫ā paṛ▫ḏā agai ā▫e kẖalohā. Mixed and mingled with others, he was passed off as genuine in many places; but now, the veil has been lifted, and he stands naked before all. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਜੇ ਸਰਣੀ ਆਵੈ ਫਿਰਿ ਮਨੂਰਹੁ ਕੰਚਨੁ ਹੋਹਾ ॥ सतिगुर की जे सरणी आवै फिरि मनूरहु कंचनु होहा ॥ Saṯgur kī je sarṇī āvai fir manūrahu kancẖan hohā. One who comes to the Sanctuary of the True Guru, shall be transformed from iron into gold. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਨਿਰਵੈਰੁ ਪੁਤ੍ਰ ਸਤ੍ਰ ਸਮਾਨੇ ਅਉਗਣ ਕਟੇ ਕਰੇ ਸੁਧੁ ਦੇਹਾ ॥ सतिगुरु निरवैरु पुत्र सत्र समाने अउगण कटे करे सुधु देहा ॥ Saṯgur nirvair puṯar saṯar samāne a▫ugaṇ kate kare suḏẖ ḏehā. The True Guru has no anger or vengeance; He looks upon son and enemy alike. Removing faults and mistakes, He purifies the human body. ਨਾਨਕ ਜਿਸੁ ਧੁਰਿ ਮਸਤਕਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਨਾਲਿ ਸਨੇਹਾ ॥ नानक जिसु धुरि मसतकि होवै लिखिआ तिसु सतिगुर नालि सनेहा ॥ Nānak jis ḏẖur masṯak hovai likẖi▫ā ṯis saṯgur nāl sanehā. O Nanak, one who has such pre-ordained destiny inscribed upon his forehead, is in love with the True Guru. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪੂਰੇ ਕੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਕਿਰਪਾਲੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਵਸੇਹਾ ॥ अम्रित बाणी सतिगुर पूरे की जिसु किरपालु होवै तिसु रिदै वसेहा ॥ Amriṯ baṇī saṯgur pūre kī jis kirpāl hovai ṯis riḏai vasehā. The Word of the Perfect True Guru's Bani is Ambrosial Nectar; it dwells in the heart of one who is blessed by the Guru's Mercy. ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਤਿਸ ਕਾ ਕਟੀਐ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਹਾ ॥੨॥ आवण जाणा तिस का कटीऐ सदा सदा सुखु होहा ॥२॥ Āvaṇ jāṇā ṯis kā katī▫ai saḏā saḏā sukẖ hohā. ||2|| His coming and going in reincarnation is ended; forever and ever, he is at peace. ||2||
