ਜੈਸੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਲਹਰ ਨਾ ਠਾਹਰੈ ॥ जैसे मंदर महि बलहर ना ठाहरै ॥ Jaise manḏar mėh balhar nā ṯẖāhrai. As the house will not stand when the supporting beams are removed from within it, ਗੋਂਡ ॥ गोंड ॥ Gond. Gond: ਕੁੰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਲੁ ਨਾ ਟੀਕਾਵੈ ॥ कु्मभ बिना जलु ना टीकावै ॥ Kumbẖ binā jal nā tīkāvai. Without the pitcher, the water is not contained; ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੈ ॥ नाम बिना कैसे पारि उतरै ॥ Nām binā kaise pār uṯrai. just so, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, how can anyone be carried across? ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਐਸੇ ਅਬਗਤੁ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ साधू बिनु ऐसे अबगतु जावै ॥१॥ Sāḏẖū bin aise abgaṯ jāvai. ||1|| just so, without the Holy Saint, the mortal departs in misery. ||1|| ਤਨ ਮਨ ਰਮਤ ਰਹੈ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਤੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ तन मन रमत रहै महि खेतै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ŧan man ramaṯ rahai mėh kẖeṯai. ||1|| rahā▫o. his body and mind have remained absorbed in this field of the world. ||1||Pause|| ਜਾਰਉ ਤਿਸੈ ਜੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ॥ जारउ तिसै जु रामु न चेतै ॥ Jāra▫o ṯisai jo rām na cẖeṯai. One who does not remember the Lord - let him burn; ਜੈਸੇ ਹਲਹਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਮੀ ਨਹੀ ਬੋਈਐ ॥ जैसे हलहर बिना जिमी नही बोईऐ ॥ Jaise halhar binā jimī nahī bo▫ī▫ai. Without a farmer, the land is not planted; ਸੂਤ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਣੀ ਪਰੋਈਐ ॥ सूत बिना कैसे मणी परोईऐ ॥ Sūṯ binā kaise maṇī paroī▫ai. without a thread, how can the beads be strung? ਘੁੰਡੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਗੰਠਿ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਐ ॥ घुंडी बिनु किआ गंठि चड़्हाईऐ ॥ Gẖundī bin ki▫ā ganṯẖ cẖaṛĥā▫ī▫ai. Without a loop, how can the knot be tied? ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਤੈਸੇ ਅਬਗਤੁ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ साधू बिनु तैसे अबगतु जाईऐ ॥२॥ Sāḏẖū bin ṯaise abgaṯ jā▫ī▫ai. ||2|| Just so, without the Holy Saint, the mortal departs in misery. ||2|| ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ जैसे मात पिता बिनु बालु न होई ॥ Jaise māṯ piṯā bin bāl na ho▫ī. Without a mother or father there is no child; ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦਰਵਾਰ ॥੩॥ साधू बिनु नाही दरवार ॥३॥ Sāḏẖū bin nāhī ḏarvār. ||3|| Without the Holy Saint, one cannot reach the Court of the Lord. ||3|| ਘੋਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਅਸਵਾਰ ॥ घोर बिना कैसे असवार ॥ Gẖor binā kaise asvār. Without a horse, how can there be a rider? ਬਿੰਬ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਕਪਰੇ ਧੋਈ ॥ बि्मब बिना कैसे कपरे धोई ॥ Bimb binā kaise kapre ḏẖo▫ī. just so, without water, how can the clothes be washed? ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਲੀਜੈ ਫੇਰੀ ॥ जैसे बाजे बिनु नही लीजै फेरी ॥ Jaise bāje bin nahī lījai ferī. Just as without music, there is no dancing, ਖਸਮਿ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਤਜਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥ खसमि दुहागनि तजि अउहेरी ॥ Kẖasam ḏuhāgan ṯaj a▫uherī. the bride rejected by her husband is dishonored. ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਏਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਨਾ ॥ कहै कबीरु एकै करि करना ॥ Kahai Kabīr ekai kar karnā. Says Kabeer, do this one thing: ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥ गुरमुखि होइ बहुरि नही मरना ॥४॥६॥९॥ Gurmukẖ ho▫e bahur nahī marnā. ||4||6||9|| become Gurmukh, and you shall never die again. ||4||6||9||
