ਜੈਸੇ ਮੰਦਰ ਮਹਿ ਬਲਹਰ ਨਾ ਠਾਹਰੈ ॥ जैसे मंदर महि बलहर ना ठाहरै ॥ Jæsé manḋar mėh balhar naa tʰaahræ. As the house will not stand when the supporting beams are removed from within it, ਗੋਂਡ ॥ गोंड ॥ Gond. Gond: ਕੁੰਭ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਲੁ ਨਾ ਟੀਕਾਵੈ ॥ कु्मभ बिना जलु ना टीकावै ॥ Kumbʰ binaa jal naa teekaavæ. Without the pitcher, the water is not contained; ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਰਿ ਉਤਰੈ ॥ नाम बिना कैसे पारि उतरै ॥ Naam binaa kæsé paar uṫræ. just so, without the Naam, the Name of the Lord, how can anyone be carried across? ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਐਸੇ ਅਬਗਤੁ ਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ साधू बिनु ऐसे अबगतु जावै ॥१॥ Saaḋʰoo bin æsé abgaṫ jaavæ. ||1|| just so, without the Holy Saint, the mortal departs in misery. ||1|| ਤਨ ਮਨ ਰਮਤ ਰਹੈ ਮਹਿ ਖੇਤੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ तन मन रमत रहै महि खेतै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ṫan man ramaṫ rahæ mėh kʰéṫæ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. his body and mind have remained absorbed in this field of the world. ||1||Pause|| ਜਾਰਉ ਤਿਸੈ ਜੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਨ ਚੇਤੈ ॥ जारउ तिसै जु रामु न चेतै ॥ Jaara▫o ṫisæ jo raam na chéṫæ. One who does not remember the Lord - let him burn; ਜੈਸੇ ਹਲਹਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਜਿਮੀ ਨਹੀ ਬੋਈਐ ॥ जैसे हलहर बिना जिमी नही बोईऐ ॥ Jæsé halhar binaa jimee nahee bo▫ee▫æ. Without a farmer, the land is not planted; ਸੂਤ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਮਣੀ ਪਰੋਈਐ ॥ सूत बिना कैसे मणी परोईऐ ॥ Sooṫ binaa kæsé maṇee paroee▫æ. without a thread, how can the beads be strung? ਘੁੰਡੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਆ ਗੰਠਿ ਚੜ੍ਹਾਈਐ ॥ घुंडी बिनु किआ गंठि चड़्हाईऐ ॥ Gʰundee bin ki▫aa gantʰ chaṛĥaa▫ee▫æ. Without a loop, how can the knot be tied? ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਤੈਸੇ ਅਬਗਤੁ ਜਾਈਐ ॥੨॥ साधू बिनु तैसे अबगतु जाईऐ ॥२॥ Saaḋʰoo bin ṫæsé abgaṫ jaa▫ee▫æ. ||2|| Just so, without the Holy Saint, the mortal departs in misery. ||2|| ਜੈਸੇ ਮਾਤ ਪਿਤਾ ਬਿਨੁ ਬਾਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥ जैसे मात पिता बिनु बालु न होई ॥ Jæsé maaṫ piṫaa bin baal na ho▫ee. Without a mother or father there is no child; ਸਾਧੂ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਦਰਵਾਰ ॥੩॥ साधू बिनु नाही दरवार ॥३॥ Saaḋʰoo bin naahee ḋarvaar. ||3|| Without the Holy Saint, one cannot reach the Court of the Lord. ||3|| ਘੋਰ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਅਸਵਾਰ ॥ घोर बिना कैसे असवार ॥ Gʰor binaa kæsé asvaar. Without a horse, how can there be a rider? ਬਿੰਬ ਬਿਨਾ ਕੈਸੇ ਕਪਰੇ ਧੋਈ ॥ बि्मब बिना कैसे कपरे धोई ॥ Bimb binaa kæsé kapré ḋʰo▫ee. just so, without water, how can the clothes be washed? ਜੈਸੇ ਬਾਜੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਹੀ ਲੀਜੈ ਫੇਰੀ ॥ जैसे बाजे बिनु नही लीजै फेरी ॥ Jæsé baajé bin nahee leejæ féree. Just as without music, there is no dancing, ਖਸਮਿ ਦੁਹਾਗਨਿ ਤਜਿ ਅਉਹੇਰੀ ॥ खसमि दुहागनि तजि अउहेरी ॥ Kʰasam ḋuhaagan ṫaj a▫uhéree. the bride rejected by her husband is dishonored. ਕਹੈ ਕਬੀਰੁ ਏਕੈ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਨਾ ॥ कहै कबीरु एकै करि करना ॥ Kahæ Kabeer ékæ kar karnaa. Says Kabir, do this one thing: ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਇ ਬਹੁਰਿ ਨਹੀ ਮਰਨਾ ॥੪॥੬॥੯॥ गुरमुखि होइ बहुरि नही मरना ॥४॥६॥९॥ Gurmukʰ ho▫é bahur nahee marnaa. ||4||6||9|| become Gurmukh, and you shall never die again. ||4||6||9||
