ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਬਿਲਾਵਲੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਅਸਟਪਦੀ ਘਰੁ ੧੦ बिलावलु महला ३ असटपदी घरु १० Bilaaval mėhlaa 3 asatpaḋee gʰar 10 Bilaaval, Third Mehl, Ashtapadees, Tenth House: ਅੰਤਰਿ ਲੋਭੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੁ ॥ अंतरि लोभु झूठु अभिमानु ॥ Anṫar lobʰ jʰootʰ abʰimaan. But deep within there is greed, falsehood and pride. ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਪਾਜੁ ਲਹਗੁ ਨਿਦਾਨਿ ॥੧॥ बिनु नावै पाजु लहगु निदानि ॥१॥ Bin naavæ paaj lahag niḋaan. ||1|| Without the Name of the Lord, your thin outer covering shall wear off, you fool. ||1|| ਜਗੁ ਕਊਆ ਮੁਖਿ ਚੁੰਚ ਗਿਆਨੁ ॥ जगु कऊआ मुखि चुंच गिआनु ॥ Jag ka▫oo▫aa mukʰ chunch gi▫aan. The world is like a crow; with its beak, it croaks spiritual wisdom. ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਸੇਵਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸੈ ਮਨਿ ਚੀਤਿ ॥ सतिगुर सेवि नामु वसै मनि चीति ॥ Saṫgur sév naam vasæ man cheeṫ. Serving the True Guru, the Naam shall dwell in your conscious mind. ਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟੇ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਚੇਤਾਵੈ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਵੈ ਹੋਰ ਝੂਠੁ ਪਰੀਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुरु भेटे हरि नामु चेतावै बिनु नावै होर झूठु परीति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gur bʰété har naam chéṫaavæ bin naavæ hor jʰootʰ pareeṫ. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Meeting with the Guru, the Name of the Lord comes to mind. Without the Name, other loves are false. ||1||Pause|| ਗੁਰਿ ਕਹਿਆ ਸਾ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਹੁ ॥ गुरि कहिआ सा कार कमावहु ॥ Gur kahi▫aa saa kaar kamaavahu. So, do that work, which the Guru tells you to do. ਸਬਦੁ ਚੀਨੑਿ ਸਹਜ ਘਰਿ ਆਵਹੁ ॥ सबदु चीन्हि सहज घरि आवहु ॥ Sabaḋ cheenėh sahj gʰar aavhu. Contemplating the Word of the Shabad, you shall come to the home of celestial bliss. ਸਾਚੈ ਨਾਇ ਵਡਾਈ ਪਾਵਹੁ ॥੨॥ साचै नाइ वडाई पावहु ॥२॥ Saachæ naa▫é vadaa▫ee paavhu. ||2|| Through the True Name, you shall obtain glorious greatness. ||2|| ਆਪਿ ਨ ਬੂਝੈ ਲੋਕ ਬੁਝਾਵੈ ॥ आपि न बूझै लोक बुझावै ॥ Aap na boojʰæ lok bujʰaavæ. One who does not understand his own self, but still tries to instruct others, ਮਨ ਕਾ ਅੰਧਾ ਅੰਧੁ ਕਮਾਵੈ ॥ मन का अंधा अंधु कमावै ॥ Man kaa anḋʰaa anḋʰ kamaavæ. is mentally blind, and acts in blindness. ਦਰੁ ਘਰੁ ਮਹਲੁ ਠਉਰੁ ਕੈਸੇ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੩॥ दरु घरु महलु ठउरु कैसे पावै ॥३॥ Ḋar gʰar mahal tʰa▫ur kæsé paavæ. ||3|| How can he ever find a home and a place of rest, in the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence? ||3|| ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਨੀ ॥ घट घट अंतरि जिस की जोति समानी ॥ Gʰat gʰat anṫar jis kee joṫ samaanee. deep within each and every heart, His Light is shining forth. ਤਿਸੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਕਿਆ ਚਲੈ ਪਹਨਾਮੀ ॥੪॥ तिसु नालि किआ चलै पहनामी ॥४॥ Ṫis naal ki▫aa chalæ pėhnaamee. ||4|| How can anyone hide anything from Him? ||4|| ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸੇਵੀਐ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ॥ हरि जीउ सेवीऐ अंतरजामी ॥ Har jee▫o sévee▫æ anṫarjaamee. Serve the Dear Lord, the Inner-knower, the Searcher of hearts; ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ साचा नामु साचै सबदि जानै ॥ Saachaa naam saachæ sabaḋ jaanæ. The True Name is known through the True Word of the Shabad. ਆਪੈ ਆਪੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਚੂਕੈ ਅਭਿਮਾਨੈ ॥ आपै आपु मिलै चूकै अभिमानै ॥ Aapæ aap milæ chookæ abʰimaanæ. The Lord Himself meets that one who eradicates egotistical pride. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਵਖਾਨੈ ॥੫॥ गुरमुखि नामु सदा सदा वखानै ॥५॥ Gurmukʰ naam saḋaa saḋaa vakʰaanæ. ||5|| The Gurmukh chants the Naam, forever and ever. ||5|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਸੇਵਿਐ ਦੂਜੀ ਦੁਰਮਤਿ ਜਾਈ ॥ सतिगुरि सेविऐ दूजी दुरमति जाई ॥ Saṫgur sévi▫æ ḋoojee ḋurmaṫ jaa▫ee. Serving the True Guru, duality and evil-mindedness are taken away. ਅਉਗਣ ਕਾਟਿ ਪਾਪਾ ਮਤਿ ਖਾਈ ॥ अउगण काटि पापा मति खाई ॥ A▫ugaṇ kaat paapaa maṫ kʰaa▫ee. Guilty mistakes are erased, and the sinful intellect is cleansed. ਕੰਚਨ ਕਾਇਆ ਜੋਤੀ ਜੋਤਿ ਸਮਾਈ ॥੬॥ कंचन काइआ जोती जोति समाई ॥६॥ Kanchan kaa▫i▫aa joṫee joṫ samaa▫ee. ||6|| one’s body sparkles like gold, and one’s light merges into the Light. ||6|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਮਿਲਿਐ ਵਡੀ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ सतिगुरि मिलिऐ वडी वडिआई ॥ Saṫgur mili▫æ vadee vadi▫aa▫ee. Meeting with the True Guru, one is blessed with glorious greatness. ਦੁਖੁ ਕਾਟੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਸਾਈ ॥ दुखु काटै हिरदै नामु वसाई ॥ Ḋukʰ kaatæ hirḋæ naam vasaa▫ee. Pain is taken away, and the Naam comes to dwell within the heart. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਮੋਖ ਦੁਆਰੁ ॥ गुरमति मानिआ मोख दुआरु ॥ Gurmaṫ maani▫aa mokʰ ḋu▫aar. Obeying the Guru’s Instructions, one finds the state of salvation. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਕਰਣੀ ਸਾਰੁ ॥ गुरमति मानिआ करणी सारु ॥ Gurmaṫ maani▫aa karṇee saar. Obeying the Gur’s instructions, one’s actions are purified. ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਈ ॥੭॥ नामि रते सदा सुखु पाई ॥७॥ Naam raṫé saḋaa sukʰ paa▫ee. ||7|| Imbued with the Naam, one finds eternal peace. ||7|| ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਮਾਨਿਆ ਪਰਵਾਰੈ ਸਾਧਾਰੁ ॥੮॥੧॥੩॥ नानक गुरमति मानिआ परवारै साधारु ॥८॥१॥३॥ Naanak gurmaṫ maani▫aa parvaaræ saaḋʰaar. ||8||1||3|| O Nanak! Those who follow the Guru’s Teachings are saved, along with their families. ||8||1||3||
