ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਬੁਝੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ जीवत मरै बुझै प्रभु सोइ ॥ Jīvaṯ marai bujẖai parabẖ so▫e. One who remains dead while yet alive understands God. ਸੂਹੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ सूही महला ५ ॥ Sūhī mėhlā 5. Soohee, Fifth Mehl: ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਇਉ ਦੁਤਰੁ ਤਰੀਐ ॥ सुणि साजन इउ दुतरु तरीऐ ॥ Suṇ sājan i▫o ḏuṯar ṯarī▫ai. Listen, O friend - this is how to cross over the terrifying world-ocean. ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ तिसु जन करमि परापति होइ ॥१॥ Ŧis jan karam parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||1|| He meets that humble being according to the karma of his past actions. ||1|| ਮਿਲਿ ਸਾਧੂ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਉਚਰੀਐ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ मिलि साधू हरि नामु उचरीऐ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Mil sāḏẖū har nām ucẖrī▫ai. ||1|| rahā▫o. Meet with the Holy, and chant the Lord's Name||1||Pause|| ਏਕ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੂਜਾ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਨੈ ॥ एक बिना दूजा नही जानै ॥ Ėk binā ḏūjā nahī jānai. There is no other to know, except for the One Lord. ਘਟ ਘਟ ਅੰਤਰਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਛਾਨੈ ॥੨॥ घट घट अंतरि पारब्रहमु पछानै ॥२॥ Gẖat gẖat anṯar pārbarahm pacẖẖānai. ||2|| So realize that the Supreme Lord God is within each and every heart. ||2|| ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰੈ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨੈ ॥ जो किछु करै सोई भल मानै ॥ Jo kicẖẖ karai so▫ī bẖal mānai. Whatever He does, accept that as good. ਆਦਿ ਅੰਤ ਕੀ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਜਾਨੈ ॥੩॥ आदि अंत की कीमति जानै ॥३॥ Āḏ anṯ kī kīmaṯ jānai. ||3|| Know the value of the beginning and the end. ||3|| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ कहु नानक तिसु जन बलिहारी ॥ Kaho Nānak ṯis jan balihārī. Says Nanak, I am a sacrifice to that humble being, ਜਾ ਕੈ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਵਸਹਿ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥੪॥੧੫॥੨੧॥ जा कै हिरदै वसहि मुरारी ॥४॥१५॥२१॥ Jā kai hirḏai vasėh murārī. ||4||15||21|| within whose heart the Lord dwells. ||4||15||21||
