ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaⁿkaar saṫgur parsaaḋ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਤਿਲੰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਘਰੁ ੨ तिलंग महला १ घरु २ Ṫilang mėhlaa 1 gʰar 2 Tilang, First Mehl, Second House: ਜਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਤਿਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਆ ਕਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ਰੇ ਭਾਈ ॥ जिनि कीआ तिनि देखिआ किआ कहीऐ रे भाई ॥ Jin kee▫aa ṫin ḋékʰi▫aa ki▫aa kahee▫æ ré bʰaa▫ee. The One who created the world watches over it; what more can we say, O Siblings of Destiny? ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਕਰੇ ਆਪਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਵਾੜੀ ਹੈ ਲਾਈ ॥੧॥ आपे जाणै करे आपि जिनि वाड़ी है लाई ॥१॥ Aapé jaaṇæ karé aap jin vaaṛee hæ laa▫ee. ||1|| He Himself knows, and He Himself acts; He laid out the garden of the world. ||1|| ਰਾਇਸਾ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਾ ਰਾਇਸਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖੁ ਹੋਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ राइसा पिआरे का राइसा जितु सदा सुखु होई ॥ रहाउ ॥ Raa▫isaa pi▫aaré kaa raa▫isaa jiṫ saḋaa sukʰ ho▫ee. Rahaa▫o. Savor the story, the story of the Beloved Lord, which brings a lasting peace. ||Pause|| ਜਿਨਿ ਰੰਗਿ ਕੰਤੁ ਨ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਸਾ ਪਛੋ ਰੇ ਤਾਣੀ ॥ जिनि रंगि कंतु न राविआ सा पछो रे ताणी ॥ Jin rang kanṫ na raavi▫aa saa pachʰo ré ṫaaṇee. She who does not enjoy the Love of her Husband Lord, shall come to regret and repent in the end. ਹਾਥ ਪਛੋੜੈ ਸਿਰੁ ਧੁਣੈ ਜਬ ਰੈਣਿ ਵਿਹਾਣੀ ॥੨॥ हाथ पछोड़ै सिरु धुणै जब रैणि विहाणी ॥२॥ Haaṫʰ pachʰoṛé sir ḋʰuṇæ jab ræṇ vihaaṇee. ||2|| She wrings her hands, and bangs her head, when the night of her life has passed away. ||2|| ਪਛੋਤਾਵਾ ਨਾ ਮਿਲੈ ਜਬ ਚੂਕੈਗੀ ਸਾਰੀ ॥ पछोतावा ना मिलै जब चूकैगी सारी ॥ Pachʰoṫaavaa naa milæ jab chookægee saaree. Nothing comes from repentance, when the game is already finished. ਤਾ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਿਆਰਾ ਰਾਵੀਐ ਜਬ ਆਵੈਗੀ ਵਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ ता फिरि पिआरा रावीऐ जब आवैगी वारी ॥३॥ Ṫaa fir pi▫aaraa raavee▫æ jab aavægee vaaree. ||3|| She shall have the opportunity to enjoy her Beloved, only when her turn comes again. ||3|| ਕੰਤੁ ਲੀਆ ਸੋਹਾਗਣੀ ਮੈ ਤੇ ਵਧਵੀ ਏਹ ॥ कंतु लीआ सोहागणी मै ते वधवी एह ॥ Kanṫ lee▫aa sohaagaṇee mæ ṫé vaḋʰvee éh. The happy soul-bride attains her Husband Lord - she is so much better than I am. ਸੇ ਗੁਣ ਮੁਝੈ ਨ ਆਵਨੀ ਕੈ ਜੀ ਦੋਸੁ ਧਰੇਹ ॥੪॥ से गुण मुझै न आवनी कै जी दोसु धरेह ॥४॥ Sé guṇ mujʰæ na aavnee kæ jee ḋos ḋʰaréh. ||4|| I have none of her merits or virtues; whom should I blame? ||4|| ਜਿਨੀ ਸਖੀ ਸਹੁ ਰਾਵਿਆ ਤਿਨ ਪੂਛਉਗੀ ਜਾਏ ॥ जिनी सखी सहु राविआ तिन पूछउगी जाए ॥ Jinee sakʰee saho raavi▫aa ṫin poochʰ▫ugee jaa▫é. I shall go and ask those sisters who have enjoyed their Husband Lord. ਪਾਇ ਲਗਉ ਬੇਨਤੀ ਕਰਉ ਲੇਉਗੀ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਤਾਏ ॥੫॥ पाइ लगउ बेनती करउ लेउगी पंथु बताए ॥५॥ Paa▫é laga▫o bénṫee kara▫o lé▫ugee panṫʰ baṫaa▫é. ||5|| I touch their feet, and ask them to show me the Path. ||5|| ਹੁਕਮੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭਉ ਚੰਦਨੁ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ हुकमु पछाणै नानका भउ चंदनु लावै ॥ Hukam pachʰaaṇæ naankaa bʰa▫o chanḋan laavæ. She who understands the Hukam of His Command, O Nanak! Applies the Fear of God as her sandalwood oil; ਗੁਣ ਕਾਮਣ ਕਾਮਣਿ ਕਰੈ ਤਉ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਕਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੬॥ गुण कामण कामणि करै तउ पिआरे कउ पावै ॥६॥ Guṇ kaamaṇ kaamaṇ karæ ṫa▫o pi▫aaré ka▫o paavæ. ||6|| she charms her Beloved with her virtue, and so obtains Him. ||6|| ਜੋ ਦਿਲਿ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਸੁ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਕਹੀਐ ਰੇ ਸੋਈ ॥ जो दिलि मिलिआ सु मिलि रहिआ मिलिआ कहीऐ रे सोई ॥ Jo ḋil mili▫aa so mil rahi▫aa mili▫aa kahee▫æ ré so▫ee. She who meets her Beloved in her heart, remains united with Him; this is truly called union. ਜੇ ਬਹੁਤੇਰਾ ਲੋਚੀਐ ਬਾਤੀ ਮੇਲੁ ਨ ਹੋਈ ॥੭॥ जे बहुतेरा लोचीऐ बाती मेलु न होई ॥७॥ Jé bahuṫéraa lochee▫æ baaṫee mél na ho▫ee. ||7|| As much as she may long for Him, she shall not meet Him through mere words. ||7|| ਧਾਤੁ ਮਿਲੈ ਫੁਨਿ ਧਾਤੁ ਕਉ ਲਿਵ ਲਿਵੈ ਕਉ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ धातु मिलै फुनि धातु कउ लिव लिवै कउ धावै ॥ Ḋʰaaṫ milæ fun ḋʰaaṫ ka▫o liv livæ ka▫o ḋʰaavæ. As metal melts into metal again, so does love melt into love. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਜਾਣੀਐ ਤਉ ਅਨਭਉ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੮॥ गुर परसादी जाणीऐ तउ अनभउ पावै ॥८॥ Gur parsaadee jaaṇee▫æ ṫa▫o anbʰa▫o paavæ. ||8|| By Guru’s Grace, this understanding is obtained, and then, one obtains the Fearless Lord. ||8|| ਪਾਨਾ ਵਾੜੀ ਹੋਇ ਘਰਿ ਖਰੁ ਸਾਰ ਨ ਜਾਣੈ ॥ पाना वाड़ी होइ घरि खरु सार न जाणै ॥ Paanaa vaaṛee ho▫é gʰar kʰar saar na jaaṇæ. There may be an orchard of betel nut trees in the garden, but the donkey does not appreciate its value. ਰਸੀਆ ਹੋਵੈ ਮੁਸਕ ਕਾ ਤਬ ਫੂਲੁ ਪਛਾਣੈ ॥੯॥ रसीआ होवै मुसक का तब फूलु पछाणै ॥९॥ Rasee▫aa hovæ musak kaa ṫab fool pachʰaaṇæ. ||9|| If someone savors a fragrance, then he can truly appreciate its flower. ||9|| ਅਪਿਉ ਪੀਵੈ ਜੋ ਨਾਨਕਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਭ੍ਰਮਿ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥ अपिउ पीवै जो नानका भ्रमु भ्रमि समावै ॥ Api▫o peevæ jo naankaa bʰaram bʰaram samaavæ. One who drinks in ambrosia, O Nanak! Abandons his doubts and wanderings. ਸਹਜੇ ਸਹਜੇ ਮਿਲਿ ਰਹੈ ਅਮਰਾ ਪਦੁ ਪਾਵੈ ॥੧੦॥੧॥ सहजे सहजे मिलि रहै अमरा पदु पावै ॥१०॥१॥ Sėhjé sėhjé mil rahæ amraa paḋ paavæ. ||10||1|| Easily and intuitively, he remains blended with the Lord, and obtains the immortal status. ||10||1||
