ਤੀਨਿ ਛੰਦੇ ਖੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ तीनि छंदे खेलु आछै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Ŧīn cẖẖanḏe kẖel ācẖẖai. ||1|| rahā▫o. Here is a verse with a three-fold play on words. ||1||Pause|| ਕੁੰਭਾਰ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਜਾ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥ कु्मभार के घर हांडी आछै राजा के घर सांडी गो ॥ Kumbẖār ke gẖar hāʼndī ācẖẖai rājā ke gẖar sāʼndī go. In the potter's home there are pots, and in the king's home there are camels. ਬਾਮਨ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਂਡੀ ਸਾਂਡੀ ਹਾਂਡੀ ਗੋ ॥੧॥ बामन के घर रांडी आछै रांडी सांडी हांडी गो ॥१॥ Bāman ke gẖar rāʼndī ācẖẖai rāʼndī sāʼndī hāʼndī go. ||1|| In the Brahmin's home there are widows. So here they are: haandee, saandee, raandee. ||1|| ਬਾਣੀਏ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਹੀਂਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਭੈਸਰ ਮਾਥੈ ਸੀਂਗੁ ਗੋ ॥ बाणीए के घर हींगु आछै भैसर माथै सींगु गो ॥ Bāṇī▫e ke gẖar hīʼng ācẖẖai bẖaisar māthai sīʼng go. In the home of the grocer there is asafetida; on the forehead of the buffalo there are horns. ਦੇਵਲ ਮਧੇ ਲੀਗੁ ਆਛੈ ਲੀਗੁ ਸੀਗੁ ਹੀਗੁ ਗੋ ॥੨॥ देवल मधे लीगु आछै लीगु सीगु हीगु गो ॥२॥ Ḏeval maḏẖe līg ācẖẖai līg sīg hīg go. ||2|| In the temple of Shiva there are lingams. So here they are: heeng, seeng, leeng. ||2|| ਤੇਲੀ ਕੈ ਘਰ ਤੇਲੁ ਆਛੈ ਜੰਗਲ ਮਧੇ ਬੇਲ ਗੋ ॥ तेली कै घर तेलु आछै जंगल मधे बेल गो ॥ Ŧelī kai gẖar ṯel ācẖẖai jangal maḏẖe bel go. In the house of the oil-presser there is oil; in the forest there are vines. ਮਾਲੀ ਕੇ ਘਰ ਕੇਲ ਆਛੈ ਕੇਲ ਬੇਲ ਤੇਲ ਗੋ ॥੩॥ माली के घर केल आछै केल बेल तेल गो ॥३॥ Mālī ke gẖar kel ācẖẖai kel bel ṯel go. ||3|| In the gardener's home there are bananas. So here they are: tayl, bayl, kayl. ||3|| ਸੰਤਾਂ ਮਧੇ ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਆਛੈ ਗੋਕਲ ਮਧੇ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋ ॥ संतां मधे गोबिंदु आछै गोकल मधे सिआम गो ॥ Sanṯāʼn maḏẖe gobinḏ ācẖẖai gokal maḏẖe si▫ām go. The Lord of the Universe, Govind, is within His Saints; Krishna, Shyaam, is in Gokal. ਨਾਮੇ ਮਧੇ ਰਾਮੁ ਆਛੈ ਰਾਮ ਸਿਆਮ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਗੋ ॥੪॥੩॥ नामे मधे रामु आछै राम सिआम गोबिंद गो ॥४॥३॥ Nāme maḏẖe rām ācẖẖai rām si▫ām gobinḏ go. ||4||3|| The Lord, Raam, is in Naam Dayv. So here they are: Raam, Shyaam, Govind. ||4||3||
