ਸੁੰਦਰ ਸੇਜ ਅਨੇਕ ਸੁਖ ਰਸ ਭੋਗਣ ਪੂਰੇ ॥ सुंदर सेज अनेक सुख रस भोगण पूरे ॥ Sunḋar séj anék sukʰ ras bʰogaṇ pooré. He may enjoy a beautiful bed, countless pleasures and all sorts of enjoyments. ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛee. Pauree: ਮਨ ਇਛੇ ਸੁਖ ਮਾਣਦਾ ਕਿਛੁ ਨਾਹਿ ਵਿਸੂਰੇ ॥ मन इछे सुख माणदा किछु नाहि विसूरे ॥ Man ichʰé sukʰ maaṇḋaa kichʰ naahi visooré. He may relish in the pleasures of his mind’s desires, and have no anxiety at all. ਗ੍ਰਿਹ ਸੋਇਨ ਚੰਦਨ ਸੁਗੰਧ ਲਾਇ ਮੋਤੀ ਹੀਰੇ ॥ ग्रिह सोइन चंदन सुगंध लाइ मोती हीरे ॥ Garih so▫in chanḋan suganḋʰ laa▫é moṫee heeré. He may possess mansions of gold, studded with pearls and rubies, plastered with fragrant sandalwood oil. ਸੋ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਵਿਸਟਾ ਕੇ ਕੀਰੇ ॥ सो प्रभु चिति न आवई विसटा के कीरे ॥ So parabʰ chiṫ na aavee vistaa ké keeré. But if he does not remember God, he is like a maggot in manure. ਬਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮ ਨ ਸਾਂਤਿ ਹੋਇ ਕਿਤੁ ਬਿਧਿ ਮਨੁ ਧੀਰੇ ॥੬॥ बिनु हरि नाम न सांति होइ कितु बिधि मनु धीरे ॥६॥ Bin har naam na saaⁿṫ ho▫é kiṫ biḋʰ man ḋʰeeré. ||6|| Without the Lord’s Name, there is no peace at all. How can the mind be comforted? ||6||
