In the utterly poisonous Dark Age of Kali Yuga, the Lord preserves and protects his honor. ||1||Pause|| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਅਪੁਨਾ ਨਿਕਟਿ ਨ ਆਵੈ ਜਾਮ ॥ सिमरि सिमरि सुआमी प्रभु अपुना निकटि न आवै जाम ॥ Simar simar su▫aamee parabʰ apunaa nikat na aavæ jaam. Remembering, remembering God, his Lord and Master in meditation, the Messenger of Death does not approach him. ਮੁਕਤਿ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਸਾਧ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਜਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਧਾਮ ॥੧॥ मुकति बैकुंठ साध की संगति जन पाइओ हरि का धाम ॥१॥ Mukaṫ bækuntʰ saaḋʰ kee sangaṫ jan paa▫i▫o har kaa ḋʰaam. ||1|| Liberation and heaven are found in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy; his humble servant finds the home of the Lord. ||1|| ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਹਰਿ ਜਨ ਕੀ ਥਾਤੀ ਕੋਟਿ ਸੂਖ ਬਿਸ੍ਰਾਮ ॥ चरन कमल हरि जन की थाती कोटि सूख बिस्राम ॥ Charan kamal har jan kee ṫʰaaṫee kot sookʰ bisraam. The Lord’s lotus feet are the treasure of His humble servant; in them, he finds millions of pleasures and comforts. ਗੋਬਿੰਦੁ ਦਮੋਦਰ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨ ਰੈਨਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਸਦ ਕੁਰਬਾਨ ॥੨॥੧੭॥੪੮॥ गोबिंदु दमोदर सिमरउ दिन रैनि नानक सद कुरबान ॥२॥१७॥४८॥ Gobinḋ ḋamoḋar simra▫o ḋin ræn Naanak saḋ kurbaan. ||2||17||48|| He remembers the Lord God in meditation, day and night; Nanak is forever a sacrifice to him. ||2||17||48||
