ਅਚਰੁ ਚਰੈ ਤਾ ਸਿਧਿ ਹੋਈ ਸਿਧੀ ਤੇ ਬੁਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥ अचरु चरै ता सिधि होई सिधी ते बुधि पाई ॥ Acẖar cẖarai ṯā siḏẖ ho▫ī siḏẖī ṯe buḏẖ pā▫ī. If one controls the difficult mind, then he becomes a Siddha, a being of perfect spirituality; through this perfection, he obtains wisdom. ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੪ ਪੰਚਪਦਾ ॥ सोरठि महला ४ पंचपदा ॥ Soraṯẖ mėhlā 4 pancẖpaḏā. Sorat'h, Fourth Mehl, Panch-Padas: ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਕੇ ਸਰ ਲਾਗੇ ਤਨ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਤਾ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ प्रेम के सर लागे तन भीतरि ता भ्रमु काटिआ जाई ॥१॥ Parem ke sar lāge ṯan bẖīṯar ṯā bẖaram kāti▫ā jā▫ī. ||1|| When the arrow of the Lord's Love pierces his body, then his doubt is eradicated. ||1|| ਮੇਰੇ ਗੋਬਿਦ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਜਨ ਕਉ ਦੇਹਿ ਵਡਿਆਈ ॥ मेरे गोबिद अपुने जन कउ देहि वडिआई ॥ Mere gobiḏ apune jan ka▫o ḏėh vadi▫ā▫ī. O my Lord of the Universe, please bless Your humble servant with glory. ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਰਗਾਸਹੁ ਸਦਾ ਰਹਹੁ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुरमति राम नामु परगासहु सदा रहहु सरणाई ॥ रहाउ ॥ Gurmaṯ rām nām pargāsahu saḏā rahhu sarṇā▫ī. Rahā▫o. Under Guru's Instructions, enlighten me with the Lord's Name, that I may dwell forever in Your Sanctuary. ||Pause|| ਇਹੁ ਸੰਸਾਰੁ ਸਭੁ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਮਨ ਮੂਰਖ ਚੇਤਿ ਅਜਾਣਾ ॥ इहु संसारु सभु आवण जाणा मन मूरख चेति अजाणा ॥ Ih sansār sabẖ āvaṇ jāṇā man mūrakẖ cẖeṯ ajāṇā. This whole world is engrossed in coming and going; O my foolish and ignorant mind, be mindful of the Lord. ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰਹੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਲਹੁ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਮਾਣਾ ॥੨॥ हरि जीउ क्रिपा करहु गुरु मेलहु ता हरि नामि समाणा ॥२॥ Har jī▫o kirpā karahu gur melhu ṯā har nām samāṇā. ||2|| O Dear Lord, please, take pity upon me, and unite me with the Guru, that I may merge in the Lord's Name. ||2|| ਜਿਸ ਕੀ ਵਥੁ ਸੋਈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦੇਇ ਸੁ ਪਾਏ ॥ जिस की वथु सोई प्रभु जाणै जिस नो देइ सु पाए ॥ Jis kī vath so▫ī parabẖ jāṇai jis no ḏe▫e so pā▫e. Only one who has it knows God; he alone has it, to whom God has given it- ਵਸਤੁ ਅਨੂਪ ਅਤਿ ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰ ਗੁਰੁ ਪੂਰਾ ਅਲਖੁ ਲਖਾਏ ॥੩॥ वसतु अनूप अति अगम अगोचर गुरु पूरा अलखु लखाए ॥३॥ Vasaṯ anūp aṯ agam agocẖar gur pūrā alakẖ lakẖā▫e. ||3|| the so very beautiful, unapproachable and unfathomable. Through the Perfect Guru, the unknowable is known. ||3|| ਜਿਨਿ ਇਹ ਚਾਖੀ ਸੋਈ ਜਾਣੈ ਗੂੰਗੇ ਕੀ ਮਿਠਿਆਈ ॥ जिनि इह चाखी सोई जाणै गूंगे की मिठिआई ॥ Jin ih cẖākẖī so▫ī jāṇai gūnge kī miṯẖi▫ā▫ī. Only one who tastes it knows it, like the mute, who tastes the sweet candy, but cannot speak of it. ਰਤਨੁ ਲੁਕਾਇਆ ਲੂਕੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਜੇ ਕੋ ਰਖੈ ਲੁਕਾਈ ॥੪॥ रतनु लुकाइआ लूकै नाही जे को रखै लुकाई ॥४॥ Raṯan lukā▫i▫ā lūkai nāhī je ko rakẖai lukā▫ī. ||4|| The jewel is concealed, but it is not concealed, even though one may try to conceal it. ||4|| ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਅੰਤਰਜਾਮੀ ਤੂ ਸਭਨਾ ਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਸੋਈ ॥ सभु किछु तेरा तू अंतरजामी तू सभना का प्रभु सोई ॥ Sabẖ kicẖẖ ṯerā ṯū anṯarjāmī ṯū sabẖnā kā parabẖ so▫ī. Everything is Yours, O Inner-knower, Searcher of hearts; You are the Lord God of all. ਜਿਸ ਨੋ ਦਾਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਸੋ ਪਾਏ ਜਨ ਨਾਨਕ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਕੋਈ ॥੫॥੯॥ जिस नो दाति करहि सो पाए जन नानक अवरु न कोई ॥५॥९॥ Jis no ḏāṯ karahi so pā▫e jan Nānak avar na ko▫ī. ||5||9|| He alone receives the gift, unto whom You give it; O servant Nanak, there is no one else. ||5||9||
