ਸੋਰਠਿ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ सोरठि महला ३ ॥ Soraṯẖ mėhlā 3. Sorat'h, Third Mehl: ਭਗਤਿ ਖਜਾਨਾ ਭਗਤਨ ਕਉ ਦੀਆ ਨਾਉ ਹਰਿ ਧਨੁ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥ भगति खजाना भगतन कउ दीआ नाउ हरि धनु सचु सोइ ॥ Bẖagaṯ kẖajānā bẖagṯan ka▫o ḏī▫ā nā▫o har ḏẖan sacẖ so▫e. The True Lord has blessed His devotees with the treasure of devotional worship, and the wealth of the Lord's Name. ਅਖੁਟੁ ਨਾਮ ਧਨੁ ਕਦੇ ਨਿਖੁਟੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਕੀਮਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥ अखुटु नाम धनु कदे निखुटै नाही किनै न कीमति होइ ॥ Akẖut nām ḏẖan kaḏe nikẖutai nāhī kinai na kīmaṯ ho▫e. The wealth of the Naam, shall never be exhausted; no one can estimate its worth. ਨਾਮ ਧਨਿ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਸਚੁ ਸੋਇ ॥੧॥ नाम धनि मुख उजले होए हरि पाइआ सचु सोइ ॥१॥ Nām ḏẖan mukẖ ujle ho▫e har pā▫i▫ā sacẖ so▫e. ||1|| With the wealth of the Naam, their faces are radiant, and they attain the True Lord. ||1|| ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਗੁਰ ਸਬਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਜਾਇ ॥ मन मेरे गुर सबदी हरि पाइआ जाइ ॥ Man mere gur sabḏī har pā▫i▫ā jā▫e. O my mind, through the Word of the Guru's Shabad, the Lord is found. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਗੁ ਭੁਲਦਾ ਫਿਰਦਾ ਦਰਗਹ ਮਿਲੈ ਸਜਾਇ ॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ बिनु सबदै जगु भुलदा फिरदा दरगह मिलै सजाइ ॥ रहाउ ॥ Bin sabḏai jag bẖulḏā firḏā ḏargėh milai sajā▫e. Rahā▫o. Without the Shabad, the world wanders around, and receives its punishment in the Court of the Lord. ||Pause|| ਇਸੁ ਦੇਹੀ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਪੰਚ ਚੋਰ ਵਸਹਿ ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਾ ॥ इसु देही अंदरि पंच चोर वसहि कामु क्रोधु लोभु मोहु अहंकारा ॥ Is ḏehī anḏar pancẖ cẖor vasėh kām kroḏẖ lobẖ moh ahaʼnkārā. Within this body dwell the five thieves: sexual desire, anger, greed, emotional attachment and egotism. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਲੂਟਹਿ ਮਨਮੁਖ ਨਹੀ ਬੂਝਹਿ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਸੁਣੈ ਪੂਕਾਰਾ ॥ अम्रितु लूटहि मनमुख नही बूझहि कोइ न सुणै पूकारा ॥ Amriṯ lūtėh manmukẖ nahī būjẖėh ko▫e na suṇai pūkārā. They plunder the Nectar, but the self-willed manmukh does not realize it; no one hears his complaint. ਅੰਧਾ ਜਗਤੁ ਅੰਧੁ ਵਰਤਾਰਾ ਬਾਝੁ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੁਬਾਰਾ ॥੨॥ अंधा जगतु अंधु वरतारा बाझु गुरू गुबारा ॥२॥ Anḏẖā jagaṯ anḏẖ varṯārā bājẖ gurū gubārā. ||2|| The world is blind, and its dealings are blind as well; without the Guru, there is only pitch darkness. ||2|| ਹਉਮੈ ਮੇਰਾ ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵਿਗੁਤੇ ਕਿਹੁ ਚਲੈ ਨ ਚਲਦਿਆ ਨਾਲਿ ॥ हउमै मेरा करि करि विगुते किहु चलै न चलदिआ नालि ॥ Ha▫umai merā kar kar viguṯe kihu cẖalai na cẖalḏi▫ā nāl. Indulging in egotism and possessiveness, they are ruined; when they depart, nothing goes along with them. ਗੁਰਮੁਖਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਸੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਧਿਆਵੈ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ॥ गुरमुखि होवै सु नामु धिआवै सदा हरि नामु समालि ॥ Gurmukẖ hovai so nām ḏẖi▫āvai saḏā har nām samāl. But one who becomes Gurmukh meditates on the Naam, and ever contemplates the Lord's Name. ਸਚੀ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਿ ॥੩॥ सची बाणी हरि गुण गावै नदरी नदरि निहालि ॥३॥ Sacẖī baṇī har guṇ gāvai naḏrī naḏar nihāl. ||3|| Through the True Word of Gurbani, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord; blessed with the Lord's Glance of Grace, he is enraptured. ||3|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਗਿਆਨੁ ਸਦਾ ਘਟਿ ਚਾਨਣੁ ਅਮਰੁ ਸਿਰਿ ਬਾਦਿਸਾਹਾ ॥ सतिगुर गिआनु सदा घटि चानणु अमरु सिरि बादिसाहा ॥ Saṯgur gi▫ān saḏā gẖat cẖānaṇ amar sir bāḏisāhā. The spiritual wisdom of the True Guru is a steady light within the heart. The Lord's decree is over the heads of even kings. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਚੁ ਲਾਹਾ ॥ अनदिनु भगति करहि दिनु राती राम नामु सचु लाहा ॥ An▫ḏin bẖagaṯ karahi ḏin rāṯī rām nām sacẖ lāhā. Night and day, the Lord's devotees worship Him; night and day, they gather in the true profit of the Lord's Name. ਨਾਨਕ ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮਿ ਨਿਸਤਾਰਾ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਹਾ ॥੪॥੨॥ नानक राम नामि निसतारा सबदि रते हरि पाहा ॥४॥२॥ Nānak rām nām nisṯārā sabaḏ raṯe har pāhā. ||4||2|| O Nanak, through the Lord's Name, one is emancipated; attuned to the Shabad, he finds the Lord. ||4||2|| ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸੁ ਹੋਵੈ ਤਾ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਏ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਆਪੁ ਗਵਾਈ ॥ दासनि दासु होवै ता हरि पाए विचहु आपु गवाई ॥ Ḏāsan ḏās hovai ṯā har pā▫e vicẖahu āp gavā▫ī. If one becomes the slave of the Lord's slaves, then he finds the Lord, and eradicates ego from within. ਭਗਤਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਹਰਿ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਹੈ ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈ ॥ भगता का कारजु हरि अनंदु है अनदिनु हरि गुण गाई ॥ Bẖagṯā kā kāraj har anand hai an▫ḏin har guṇ gā▫ī. The Lord of bliss is his object of devotion; night and day, he sings the Glorious Praises of the Lord.
