ਜਾਨੀ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਤਾ ਕੀ ਗਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जानी न जाई ता की गाति ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jānī na jā▫ī ṯā kī gāṯ. ||1|| rahā▫o. His state cannot be known. ||1||Pause|| ਦੇਵਗੰਧਾਰੀ ੫ ॥ देवगंधारी ५ ॥ Ḏevganḏẖārī 5. Dayv-Gandhaaree, Fifth Mehl: ਕਹ ਪੇਖਾਰਉ ਹਉ ਕਰਿ ਚਤੁਰਾਈ ਬਿਸਮਨ ਬਿਸਮੇ ਕਹਨ ਕਹਾਤਿ ॥੧॥ कह पेखारउ हउ करि चतुराई बिसमन बिसमे कहन कहाति ॥१॥ Kah pekẖāra▫o ha▫o kar cẖaṯurā▫ī bisman bisme kahan kahāṯ. ||1|| How can I behold Him through clever tricks? Those who tell this story are wonder-struck and amazed. ||1|| ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਸਿਧ ਅਰੁ ਸਾਧਿਕ ॥ गण गंधरब सिध अरु साधिक ॥ Gaṇ ganḏẖarab siḏẖ ar sāḏẖik. The servants of God, the celestial singers, the Siddhas and the seekers, ਸੁਰਿ ਨਰ ਦੇਵ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਬ੍ਰਹਮਾਦਿਕ ॥ सुरि नर देव ब्रहम ब्रहमादिक ॥ Sur nar ḏev barahm barahmāḏik. the angelic and divine beings, Brahma and those like Brahma, ਚਤੁਰ ਬੇਦ ਉਚਰਤ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤਿ ॥ चतुर बेद उचरत दिनु राति ॥ Cẖaṯur beḏ ucẖraṯ ḏin rāṯ. and the four Vedas proclaim, day and night, ਅਗਮ ਅਗਮ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਆਗਾਧਿ ॥ अगम अगम ठाकुरु आगाधि ॥ Agam agam ṯẖākur āgāḏẖ. that the Lord and Master is inaccessible, unapproachable and unfathomable. ਗੁਨ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਭਨੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹਨੁ ਨ ਜਾਈ ਪਰੈ ਪਰਾਤਿ ॥੨॥੨॥੩੫॥ गुन बेअंत बेअंत भनु नानक कहनु न जाई परै पराति ॥२॥२॥३५॥ Gun be▫anṯ be▫anṯ bẖan Nānak kahan na jā▫ī parai parāṯ. ||2||2||35|| Endless, endless are His Glories, says Nanak; they cannot be described - they are beyond our reach. ||2||2||35||
