ਅੰਤਰਿ ਮੈਲੁ ਜੇ ਤੀਰਥ ਨਾਵੈ ਤਿਸੁ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ॥ अंतरि मैलु जे तीरथ नावै तिसु बैकुंठ न जानां ॥ Anṯar mail je ṯirath nāvai ṯis baikunṯẖ na jānāʼn. With filth within the heart, even if one bathes at sacred places of pilgrimage, still, he shall not go to heaven. ਆਸਾ ॥ आसा ॥ Āsā. Aasaa: ਲੋਕ ਪਤੀਣੇ ਕਛੂ ਨ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਾਹੀ ਰਾਮੁ ਅਯਾਨਾ ॥੧॥ लोक पतीणे कछू न होवै नाही रामु अयाना ॥१॥ Lok paṯīṇe kacẖẖū na hovai nāhī rām eānā. ||1|| Nothing is gained by trying to please others - the Lord cannot be fooled. ||1|| ਪੂਜਹੁ ਰਾਮੁ ਏਕੁ ਹੀ ਦੇਵਾ ॥ पूजहु रामु एकु ही देवा ॥ Pūjahu rām ek hī ḏevā. Worship the One Divine Lord. ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਵਣੁ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ साचा नावणु गुर की सेवा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Sācẖā nāvaṇ gur kī sevā. ||1|| rahā▫o. The true cleansing bath is service to the Guru. ||1||Pause|| ਜਲ ਕੈ ਮਜਨਿ ਜੇ ਗਤਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਨਿਤ ਨਿਤ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਨਾਵਹਿ ॥ जल कै मजनि जे गति होवै नित नित मेंडुक नावहि ॥ Jal kai majan je gaṯ hovai niṯ niṯ meʼnduk nāvėh. If salvation can be obtained by bathing in water, then what about the frog, which is always bathing in water? ਜੈਸੇ ਮੇਂਡੁਕ ਤੈਸੇ ਓਇ ਨਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਫਿਰਿ ਜੋਨੀ ਆਵਹਿ ॥੨॥ जैसे मेंडुक तैसे ओइ नर फिरि फिरि जोनी आवहि ॥२॥ Jaise meʼnduk ṯaise o▫e nar fir fir jonī āvahi. ||2|| As is the frog, so is that mortal; he is reincarnated, over and over again. ||2|| ਮਨਹੁ ਕਠੋਰੁ ਮਰੈ ਬਾਨਾਰਸਿ ਨਰਕੁ ਨ ਬਾਂਚਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥ मनहु कठोरु मरै बानारसि नरकु न बांचिआ जाई ॥ Manhu kaṯẖor marai bānāras narak na bāʼncẖi▫ā jā▫ī. If the hard-hearted sinner dies in Benaares, he cannot escape hell. ਹਰਿ ਕਾ ਸੰਤੁ ਮਰੈ ਹਾੜੰਬੈ ਤ ਸਗਲੀ ਸੈਨ ਤਰਾਈ ॥੩॥ हरि का संतु मरै हाड़्मबै त सगली सैन तराई ॥३॥ Har kā sanṯ marai hāṛambai ṯa saglī sain ṯarā▫ī. ||3|| And even if the Lord's Saint dies in the cursed land of Haramba, still, he saves all his family. ||3|| ਦਿਨਸੁ ਨ ਰੈਨਿ ਬੇਦੁ ਨਹੀ ਸਾਸਤ੍ਰ ਤਹਾ ਬਸੈ ਨਿਰੰਕਾਰਾ ॥ दिनसु न रैनि बेदु नही सासत्र तहा बसै निरंकारा ॥ Ḏinas na rain beḏ nahī sāsṯar ṯahā basai nirankārā. Where there is neither day nor night, and neither Vedas nor Shaastras, there, the Formless Lord abides. ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਨਰ ਤਿਸਹਿ ਧਿਆਵਹੁ ਬਾਵਰਿਆ ਸੰਸਾਰਾ ॥੪॥੪॥੩੭॥ कहि कबीर नर तिसहि धिआवहु बावरिआ संसारा ॥४॥४॥३७॥ Kahi Kabīr nar ṯisėh ḏẖi▫āvahu bāvri▫ā sansārā. ||4||4||37|| Says Kabeer, meditate on Him, O mad-men of the world. ||4||4||37||
