ਜੈਸੇ ਕਿਰਸਾਣੁ ਬੋਵੈ ਕਿਰਸਾਨੀ ॥ जैसे किरसाणु बोवै किरसानी ॥ Jæsé kirsaaṇ bovæ kirsaanee. Just like the farmer, He plants His crop, ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ आसा महला ५ ॥ Aasaa mėhlaa 5. Aasaa, Fifth Mehl: ਜੋ ਜਨਮੈ ਸੋ ਜਾਨਹੁ ਮੂਆ ॥ जो जनमै सो जानहु मूआ ॥ Jo janmæ so jaanhu moo▫aa. Just so, you must know this well, that whoever is born, shall die. ਕਾਚੀ ਪਾਕੀ ਬਾਢਿ ਪਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ काची पाकी बाढि परानी ॥१॥ Kaachee paakee baadʰ paraanee. ||1|| and, whether it is ripe or unripe, He cuts it down. ||1|| ਗੋਵਿੰਦ ਭਗਤੁ ਅਸਥਿਰੁ ਹੈ ਥੀਆ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गोविंद भगतु असथिरु है थीआ ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Govinḋ bʰagaṫ asṫʰir hæ ṫʰee▫aa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Only the devotee of the Lord of the Universe becomes stable and permanent. ||1||Pause|| ਦਿਨ ਤੇ ਸਰਪਰ ਪਉਸੀ ਰਾਤਿ ॥ दिन ते सरपर पउसी राति ॥ Ḋin ṫé sarpar pa▫usee raaṫ. The day shall certainly be followed by the night. ਰੈਣਿ ਗਈ ਫਿਰਿ ਹੋਇ ਪਰਭਾਤਿ ॥੨॥ रैणि गई फिरि होइ परभाति ॥२॥ Ræṇ ga▫ee fir ho▫é parbʰaaṫ. ||2|| And when the night passes, the morning shall again dawn. ||2|| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਸੋਇ ਰਹੇ ਅਭਾਗੇ ॥ माइआ मोहि सोइ रहे अभागे ॥ Maa▫i▫aa mohi so▫é rahé abʰaagé. In the love of Maya, the unfortunate ones remain in sleep. ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਕੋ ਵਿਰਲਾ ਜਾਗੇ ॥੩॥ गुर प्रसादि को विरला जागे ॥३॥ Gur parsaaḋ ko virlaa jaagé. ||3|| By Guru’s Grace, a rare few remain awake and aware. ||3|| ਕਹੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਈਅਹਿ ਨੀਤ ॥ कहु नानक गुण गाईअहि नीत ॥ Kaho Naanak guṇ gaa▫ee▫ah neeṫ. Says Nanak, sing continually the Glorious Praises of the Lord. ਮੁਖ ਊਜਲ ਹੋਇ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਚੀਤ ॥੪॥੧੯॥ मुख ऊजल होइ निरमल चीत ॥४॥१९॥ Mukʰ oojal ho▫é nirmal cheeṫ. ||4||19|| Your face shall be radiant, and your consciousness shall be immaculately pure. ||4||19||
