ਆਸਾ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ आसा महला १ ॥ Aasaa mėhlaa 1. Aasaa, First Mehl: ਜੋ ਤਿਨਿ ਕੀਆ ਸੋ ਸਚੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ जो तिनि कीआ सो सचु थीआ ॥ Jo ṫin kee▫aa so sach ṫʰee▫aa. Whatever He has done, has proved to be true. ਅਨਦਿਨੁ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੇ ਸੰਗੁ ॥੧॥ अनदिनु नालि पिआरे संगु ॥१॥ An▫ḋin naal pi▫aaré sang. ||1|| Night and day, one dwells with the Beloved. ||1|| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਦੀਆ ॥ अमृत नामु सतिगुरि दीआ ॥ Amriṫ naam saṫgur ḋee▫aa. The True Guru bestows the Ambrosial Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਹਿਰਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਮਨਿ ਭੰਗੁ ॥ हिरदै नामु नाही मनि भंगु ॥ Hirḋæ naam naahee man bʰang. With the Naam in the heart, the mind is not separated from the Lord. ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਰਾਖਹੁ ਅਪਨੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥ हरि जीउ राखहु अपनी सरणाई ॥ Har jee▫o raakʰo apnee sarṇaa▫ee. O Lord, please keep me in the Protection of Your Sanctuary. ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ਪਦਾਰਥੁ ਨਉ ਨਿਧਿ ਪਾਈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ गुर परसादी हरि रसु पाइआ नामु पदारथु नउ निधि पाई ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Gur parsaadee har ras paa▫i▫aa naam paḋaaraṫʰ na▫o niḋʰ paa▫ee. ||1|| rahaa▫o. By Guru’s Grace, I have obtained the sublime essence of the Lord; I have received the wealth of the Naam and the nine treasures. ||1||Pause|| ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸਚੁ ਸਾਚਾ ਨਾਉ ॥ करम धरम सचु साचा नाउ ॥ Karam ḋʰaram sach saachaa naa▫o. Those whose karma and Dharma - whose actions and faith - are in the True Name of the True Lord - ਤਾ ਕੈ ਸਦ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੈ ਜਾਉ ॥ ता कै सद बलिहारै जाउ ॥ Ṫaa kæ saḋ balihaaræ jaa▫o. I am forever a sacrifice to them. ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਸੇ ਜਨ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ॥ जो हरि राते से जन परवाणु ॥ Jo har raaṫé sé jan parvaaṇ. Those who are imbued with the Lord are accepted and respected. ਤਿਨ ਕੀ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਪਰਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੨॥ तिन की संगति परम निधानु ॥२॥ Ṫin kee sangaṫ param niḋʰaan. ||2|| In their company, the supreme wealth is obtained. ||2|| ਹਰਿ ਵਰੁ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਧਨ ਨਾਰੀ ॥ हरि वरु जिनि पाइआ धन नारी ॥ Har var jin paa▫i▫aa ḋʰan naaree. Blessed is that bride, who has obtained the Lord as her Husband. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਤਤੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੈ ॥੩॥ सतिगुरु सेवि ततु वीचारै ॥३॥ Saṫgur sév ṫaṫ veechaaræ. ||3|| She serves the True Guru, and contemplates the essence of reality. ||3|| ਆਪਿ ਤਰੈ ਸੰਗਤਿ ਕੁਲ ਤਾਰੈ ॥ आपि तरै संगति कुल तारै ॥ Aap ṫaræ sangaṫ kul ṫaaræ. She saves herself, and saves her family and friends as well. ਹਰਿ ਸਿਉ ਰਾਤੀ ਸਬਦੁ ਵੀਚਾਰੀ ॥ हरि सिउ राती सबदु वीचारी ॥ Har si▫o raaṫee sabaḋ veechaaree. She is imbued with the Lord, and she reflects upon the Word of His Shabad. ਹਮਰੀ ਜਾਤਿ ਪਤਿ ਸਚੁ ਨਾਉ ॥ हमरी जाति पति सचु नाउ ॥ Hamree jaaṫ paṫ sach naa▫o. The True Name is my social status and honor. ਕਰਮ ਧਰਮ ਸੰਜਮੁ ਸਤ ਭਾਉ ॥ करम धरम संजमु सत भाउ ॥ Karam ḋʰaram sanjam saṫ bʰaa▫o. The love of the Truth is my karma and Dharma - my faith and my actions, and my self-control. ਨਾਨਕ ਬਖਸੇ ਪੂਛ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥ नानक बखसे पूछ न होइ ॥ Naanak bakʰsé poochʰ na ho▫é. O Nanak! One who is forgiven by the Lord is not called to account. ਦੂਜਾ ਮੇਟੇ ਏਕੋ ਸੋਇ ॥੪॥੧੪॥ दूजा मेटे एको सोइ ॥४॥१४॥ Ḋoojaa mété éko so▫é. ||4||14|| The One Lord erases duality. ||4||14||
