ਸਿਰੀਰਾਗੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ॥ सिरीरागु महला ३ ॥ Sireeraag mėhlaa 3. Siree Raag, Third Mehl: ਜਿਨੀ ਪੁਰਖੀ ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਸੇ ਦੁਖੀਏ ਜੁਗ ਚਾਰਿ ॥ जिनी पुरखी सतगुरु न सेविओ से दुखीए जुग चारि ॥ Jinee purkʰee saṫgur na sévi▫o sé ḋukʰee▫é jug chaar. Those who do not serve the True Guru shall be miserable throughout the four ages. ਘਰਿ ਹੋਦਾ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਪਛਾਣਿਆ ਅਭਿਮਾਨਿ ਮੁਠੇ ਅਹੰਕਾਰਿ ॥ घरि होदा पुरखु न पछाणिआ अभिमानि मुठे अहंकारि ॥ Gʰar hoḋaa purakʰ na pachʰaaṇi▫aa abʰimaan mutʰé ahaⁿkaar. The Primal Being is within their own home, but they do not recognize Him. They are plundered by their egotistical pride and arrogance. ਸਤਗੁਰੂ ਕਿਆ ਫਿਟਕਿਆ ਮੰਗਿ ਥਕੇ ਸੰਸਾਰਿ ॥ सतगुरू किआ फिटकिआ मंगि थके संसारि ॥ Saṫguroo ki▫aa fitki▫aa mang ṫʰaké sansaar. Cursed by the True Guru, they wander around the world begging, until they are exhausted. ਸਚਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਨ ਸੇਵਿਓ ਸਭਿ ਕਾਜ ਸਵਾਰਣਹਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ सचा सबदु न सेविओ सभि काज सवारणहारु ॥१॥ Sachaa sabaḋ na sévi▫o sabʰ kaaj savaaraṇhaar. ||1|| They do not serve the True Word of the Shabad, which is the solution to all of their problems. ||1|| ਮਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਵੇਖੁ ਹਦੂਰਿ ॥ मन मेरे सदा हरि वेखु हदूरि ॥ Man méré saḋaa har vékʰ haḋoor. O my mind! See the Lord ever close at hand. ਜਨਮ ਮਰਨ ਦੁਖੁ ਪਰਹਰੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਰਹਿਆ ਭਰਪੂਰਿ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जनम मरन दुखु परहरै सबदि रहिआ भरपूरि ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Janam maran ḋukʰ par▫haræ sabaḋ rahi▫aa bʰarpoor. ||1|| rahaa▫o. He shall remove the pains of death and rebirth; the Word of the Shabad shall fill you to overflowing. ||1||Pause|| ਸਚੁ ਸਲਾਹਨਿ ਸੇ ਸਚੇ ਸਚਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥ सचु सलाहनि से सचे सचा नामु अधारु ॥ Sach salaahan sé saché sachaa naam aḋʰaar. Those who praise the True One are true; the True Name is their Support. ਸਚੀ ਕਾਰ ਕਮਾਵਣੀ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਲਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ सची कार कमावणी सचे नालि पिआरु ॥ Sachee kaar kamaavṇee saché naal pi▫aar. They act truthfully, in love with the True Lord. ਸਚਾ ਸਾਹੁ ਵਰਤਦਾ ਕੋਇ ਨ ਮੇਟਣਹਾਰੁ ॥ सचा साहु वरतदा कोइ न मेटणहारु ॥ Sachaa saahu varaṫḋaa ko▫é na métaṇhaar. The True King has written His Order, which no one can erase. ਮਨਮੁਖ ਮਹਲੁ ਨ ਪਾਇਨੀ ਕੂੜਿ ਮੁਠੇ ਕੂੜਿਆਰ ॥੨॥ मनमुख महलु न पाइनी कूड़ि मुठे कूड़िआर ॥२॥ Manmukʰ mahal na paa▫inee kooṛ mutʰé kooṛi▫aar. ||2|| The self-willed Manmukhs do not obtain the Mansion of the Lord’s Presence. The false are plundered by falsehood. ||2|| ਹਉਮੈ ਕਰਤਾ ਜਗੁ ਮੁਆ ਗੁਰ ਬਿਨੁ ਘੋਰ ਅੰਧਾਰੁ ॥ हउमै करता जगु मुआ गुर बिनु घोर अंधारु ॥ Ha▫umæ karṫaa jag mu▫aa gur bin gʰor anḋʰaar. Engrossed in egotism, the world perishes. Without the Guru, there is utter darkness. ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹਿ ਵਿਸਾਰਿਆ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਦਾਤਾਰੁ ॥ माइआ मोहि विसारिआ सुखदाता दातारु ॥ Maa▫i▫aa mohi visaari▫aa sukʰ▫ḋaaṫa ḋaaṫaar. In emotional attachment to Maya, they have forgotten the Great Giver, the Giver of Peace. ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਤਾ ਉਬਰਹਿ ਸਚੁ ਰਖਹਿ ਉਰ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ सतगुरु सेवहि ता उबरहि सचु रखहि उर धारि ॥ Saṫgur sévėh ṫaa ubrėh sach rakʰėh ur ḋʰaar. Those who serve the True Guru are saved; they keep the True One enshrined in their hearts. ਕਿਰਪਾ ਤੇ ਹਰਿ ਪਾਈਐ ਸਚਿ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰਿ ॥੩॥ किरपा ते हरि पाईऐ सचि सबदि वीचारि ॥३॥ Kirpaa ṫé har paa▫ee▫æ sach sabaḋ veechaar. ||3|| By His Grace, we find the Lord, and reflect on the True Word of the Shabad. ||3|| ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵਿ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲਾ ਹਉਮੈ ਤਜਿ ਵਿਕਾਰ ॥ सतगुरु सेवि मनु निरमला हउमै तजि विकार ॥ Saṫgur sév man nirmalaa ha▫umæ ṫaj vikaar. Serving the True Guru, the mind becomes immaculate and pure; egotism and corruption are discarded. ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਵੀਚਾਰ ॥ आपु छोडि जीवत मरै गुर कै सबदि वीचार ॥ Aap chʰod jeevaṫ maræ gur kæ sabaḋ veechaar. So, abandon your selfishness, and remain dead while still alive. Contemplate the Word of the Guru’s Shabad. ਧੰਧਾ ਧਾਵਤ ਰਹਿ ਗਏ ਲਾਗਾ ਸਾਚਿ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ धंधा धावत रहि गए लागा साचि पिआरु ॥ Ḋʰanḋʰaa ḋʰaavaṫ rėh ga▫é laagaa saach pi▫aar. The pursuit of worldly affairs comes to an end, when you embrace love for the True One. ਸਚਿ ਰਤੇ ਮੁਖ ਉਜਲੇ ਤਿਤੁ ਸਾਚੈ ਦਰਬਾਰਿ ॥੪॥ सचि रते मुख उजले तितु साचै दरबारि ॥४॥ Sach raṫé mukʰ ujlé ṫiṫ saachæ ḋarbaar. ||4|| Those who are attuned to Truth-their faces are radiant in the Court of the True Lord. ||4|| ਸਤਗੁਰੁ ਪੁਰਖੁ ਨ ਮੰਨਿਓ ਸਬਦਿ ਨ ਲਗੋ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ सतगुरु पुरखु न मंनिओ सबदि न लगो पिआरु ॥ Saṫgur purakʰ na mani▫o sabaḋ na lago pi▫aar. Those who do not have faith in the Primal Being, the True Guru, and who do not enshrine love for the Shabad - ਇਸਨਾਨੁ ਦਾਨੁ ਜੇਤਾ ਕਰਹਿ ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਖੁਆਰੁ ॥ इसनानु दानु जेता करहि दूजै भाइ खुआरु ॥ Isnaan ḋaan jéṫaa karahi ḋoojæ bʰaa▫é kʰu▫aar. they take their cleansing baths, and give to charity again and again, but they are ultimately consumed by their love of duality. ਹਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਆਪਣੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾ ਕਰੇ ਤਾ ਲਾਗੈ ਨਾਮ ਪਿਆਰੁ ॥ हरि जीउ आपणी क्रिपा करे ता लागै नाम पिआरु ॥ Har jee▫o aapṇee kirpaa karé ṫaa laagæ naam pi▫aar. When the Dear Lord Himself grants His Grace, they are inspired to love the Naam. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਲਿ ਤੂ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਹੇਤਿ ਅਪਾਰਿ ॥੫॥੨੦॥੫੩॥ नानक नामु समालि तू गुर कै हेति अपारि ॥५॥२०॥५३॥ Naanak naam samaal ṫoo gur kæ héṫ apaar. ||5||20||53|| O Nanak! Immerse yourself in the Naam, through the Infinite Love of the Guru. ||5||20||53||
