ਜਪਿ ਮਨਾ ਤੂੰ ਰਾਮ ਨਰਾਇਣੁ ਗੋਵਿੰਦਾ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਧੋ ॥ जपि मना तूं राम नराइणु गोविंदा हरि माधो ॥ Jap manaa ṫooⁿ raam naraa▫iṇ govinḋaa har maaḋʰo. Meditate, O my mind! On the Lord God, the Lord of the Universe, the Lord, the Master of Wealth. ਛੰਤ ॥ छंत ॥ Chʰanṫ. Chhant: ਦੁਖਹਰਣ ਦੀਨ ਸਰਣ ਸ੍ਰੀਧਰ ਚਰਨ ਕਮਲ ਅਰਾਧੀਐ ॥ दुखहरण दीन सरण स्रीधर चरन कमल अराधीऐ ॥ Ḋukʰharaṇ ḋeen saraṇ sareeḋʰar charan kamal araaḋʰee▫æ. Meditate lovingly on the Lotus Feet of the Lord, the Destroyer of distress, the Protector of the poor, the Lord of excellence. ਧਿਆਇ ਮਨਾ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ਮੁਕੰਦੇ ਕਟੀਐ ਕਾਲ ਦੁਖ ਫਾਧੋ ॥ धिआइ मना मुरारि मुकंदे कटीऐ काल दुख फाधो ॥ Ḋʰi▫aa▫é manaa muraar mukanḋé katee▫æ kaal ḋukʰ faaḋʰo. Meditate, O my mind! On the Lord, the Destroyer of ego, the Giver of salvation, who cuts away the noose of agonizing death. ਜਮ ਪੰਥੁ ਬਿਖੜਾ ਅਗਨਿ ਸਾਗਰੁ ਨਿਮਖ ਸਿਮਰਤ ਸਾਧੀਐ ॥ जम पंथु बिखड़ा अगनि सागरु निमख सिमरत साधीऐ ॥ Jam panṫʰ bikʰ▫ṛaa agan saagar nimakʰ simraṫ saaḋʰee▫æ. The treacherous path of death and the terrifying ocean of fire are crossed over by meditating in remembrance of the Lord, even for an instant. ਕਲਿਮਲਹ ਦਹਤਾ ਸੁਧੁ ਕਰਤਾ ਦਿਨਸੁ ਰੈਣਿ ਅਰਾਧੋ ॥ कलिमलह दहता सुधु करता दिनसु रैणि अराधो ॥ Kalimalah ḋahṫaa suḋʰ karṫaa ḋinas ræṇ araaḋʰo. Meditate day and night on the Lord, the Destroyer of desire, the Purifier of pollution. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਗੋਪਾਲ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਮਾਧੋ ॥੧॥ बिनवंति नानक करहु किरपा गोपाल गोबिंद माधो ॥१॥ Binvanṫ Naanak karahu kirpaa gopaal gobinḋ maaḋʰo. ||1|| Prays Nanak, please be Merciful to me, O Cherisher of the world, Lord of the Universe, Lord of wealth. ||1|| ਸਿਮਰਿ ਮਨਾ ਦਾਮੋਦਰੁ ਦੁਖਹਰੁ ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥ सिमरि मना दामोदरु दुखहरु भै भंजनु हरि राइआ ॥ Simar manaa ḋaamoḋar ḋukʰhar bʰæ bʰanjan har raa▫i▫aa. O my mind! Remember the Lord in meditation; He is the Destroyer of pain, the Eradicator of fear, the Sovereign Lord King. ਸ੍ਰੀਰੰਗੋ ਦਇਆਲ ਮਨੋਹਰੁ ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲੁ ਬਿਰਦਾਇਆ ॥ स्रीरंगो दइआल मनोहरु भगति वछलु बिरदाइआ ॥ Sareerango ḋa▫i▫aal manohar bʰagaṫ vachʰal birḋaa▫i▫aa. He is the Greatest Lover, the Merciful Master, the Enticer of the mind, the Support of His devotees - this is His very nature. ਭਗਤਿ ਵਛਲ ਪੁਰਖ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨਹਿ ਚਿੰਦਿਆ ਪਾਈਐ ॥ भगति वछल पुरख पूरन मनहि चिंदिआ पाईऐ ॥ Bʰagaṫ vachʰal purakʰ pooran manėh chinḋi▫aa paa▫ee▫æ. The Perfect Lord is the Lover of His devotees; He fulfills the desires of the mind. ਤਮ ਅੰਧ ਕੂਪ ਤੇ ਉਧਾਰੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੰਨਿ ਵਸਾਈਐ ॥ तम अंध कूप ते उधारै नामु मंनि वसाईऐ ॥ Ṫam anḋʰ koop ṫé uḋʰaaræ naam man vasaa▫ee▫æ. He lifts us up out of the deep, dark pit; enshrine His Name within your mind. ਸੁਰ ਸਿਧ ਗਣ ਗੰਧਰਬ ਮੁਨਿ ਜਨ ਗੁਣ ਅਨਿਕ ਭਗਤੀ ਗਾਇਆ ॥ सुर सिध गण गंधरब मुनि जन गुण अनिक भगती गाइआ ॥ Sur siḋʰ gaṇ ganḋʰarab mun jan guṇ anik bʰagṫee gaa▫i▫aa. The gods, the Siddhas, the angels, the heavenly singers, the silent sages and the devotees sing Your countless Glorious Praises. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਹਰਿ ਰਾਇਆ ॥੨॥ बिनवंति नानक करहु किरपा पारब्रहम हरि राइआ ॥२॥ Binvanṫ Naanak karahu kirpaa paarbarahm har raa▫i▫aa. ||2|| Prays Nanak, please be merciful to me, O Supreme Lord God, my King. ||2|| ਚੇਤਿ ਮਨਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਪਰਮੇਸਰੁ ਸਰਬ ਕਲਾ ਜਿਨਿ ਧਾਰੀ ॥ चेति मना पारब्रहमु परमेसरु सरब कला जिनि धारी ॥ Chéṫ manaa paarbarahm parmésar sarab kalaa jin ḋʰaaree. O my mind! Be conscious of the Supreme Lord God, the Transcendent Lord, who wields all power. ਕਰੁਣਾ ਮੈ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਘਟ ਘਟ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਅਧਾਰੀ ॥ करुणा मै समरथु सुआमी घट घट प्राण अधारी ॥ Karuṇaa mæ samraṫʰ su▫aamee gʰat gʰat paraaṇ aḋʰaaree. He is All-powerful, the Embodiment of compassion. He is the Master of each and every heart; ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਮਨ ਤਨ ਜੀਅ ਦਾਤਾ ਬੇਅੰਤ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰੋ ॥ प्राण मन तन जीअ दाता बेअंत अगम अपारो ॥ Paraaṇ man ṫan jee▫a ḋaaṫaa bé▫anṫ agam apaaro. He is the Support of the breath of life. He is the Giver of the breath of life, of mind, body and soul. He is Infinite, Inaccessible and Unfathomable. ਸਰਣਿ ਜੋਗੁ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਮੋਹਨੁ ਸਰਬ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਦਾਰੋ ॥ सरणि जोगु समरथु मोहनु सरब दोख बिदारो ॥ Saraṇ jog samraṫʰ mohan sarab ḋokʰ biḋaaro. The All-powerful Lord is our Sanctuary; He is the Enticer of the mind, who banishes all sorrows. ਰੋਗ ਸੋਗ ਸਭਿ ਦੋਖ ਬਿਨਸਹਿ ਜਪਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਮੁਰਾਰੀ ॥ रोग सोग सभि दोख बिनसहि जपत नामु मुरारी ॥ Rog sog sabʰ ḋokʰ binsahi japaṫ naam muraaree. All illnesses, sufferings and pains are dispelled, by chanting the Name of the Lord. ਬਿਨਵੰਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਕਰਹੁ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਸਮਰਥ ਸਭ ਕਲ ਧਾਰੀ ॥੩॥ बिनवंति नानक करहु किरपा समरथ सभ कल धारी ॥३॥ Binvanṫ Naanak karahu kirpaa samraṫʰ sabʰ kal ḋʰaaree. ||3|| Prays Nanak, please be merciful to me, All-powerful Lord; You are the Wielder of all power. ||3|| ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ਮਨਾ ਅਚੁਤ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਸਭ ਤੇ ਊਚ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ गुण गाउ मना अचुत अबिनासी सभ ते ऊच दइआला ॥ Guṇ gaa▫o manaa achuṫ abʰinaasee sabʰ ṫé ooch ḋa▫i▫aalaa. O my mind! Sing the Glorious Praises of the Imperishable, Eternal, Merciful Master, the Highest of all. ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲ ਮਹਾ ਦਇਆਲ ਦਾਨਾ ਦਇਆ ਧਾਰੇ ਸਭ ਕਿਸੈ ॥ प्रतिपाल महा दइआल दाना दइआ धारे सभ किसै ॥ Parṫipaal mahaa ḋa▫i▫aal ḋaanaa ḋa▫i▫aa ḋʰaaré sabʰ kisæ. The Cherisher Lord is so very merciful and wise; He is compassionate to all. ਬਿਸੰਭਰੁ ਦੇਵਨ ਕਉ ਏਕੈ ਸਰਬ ਕਰੈ ਪ੍ਰਤਿਪਾਲਾ ॥ बिस्मभरु देवन कउ एकै सरब करै प्रतिपाला ॥ Bisambʰar ḋévan ka▫o ékæ sarab karæ parṫipaalaa. The One Lord is the Sustainer of the Universe, the Great Giver; He is the Cherisher of all. ਕਾਲੁ ਕੰਟਕੁ ਲੋਭੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਨਾਸੈ ਜੀਅ ਜਾ ਕੈ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਬਸੈ ॥ कालु कंटकु लोभु मोहु नासै जीअ जा कै प्रभु बसै ॥ Kaal kantak lobʰ moh naasæ jee▫a jaa kæ parabʰ basæ. The pains of death, greed and emotional attachment simply vanish, when God comes to dwell in the soul. ਸੁਪ੍ਰਸੰਨ ਦੇਵਾ ਸਫਲ ਸੇਵਾ ਭਈ ਪੂਰਨ ਘਾਲਾ ॥ सुप्रसंन देवा सफल सेवा भई पूरन घाला ॥ Suparsan ḋévaa safal sévaa bʰa▫ee pooran gʰaalaa. When the Lord is thoroughly pleased, then one’s service becomes perfectly fruitful. ਬਿਨਵੰਤ ਨਾਨਕ ਇਛ ਪੁਨੀ ਜਪਤ ਦੀਨ ਦੈਆਲਾ ॥੪॥੩॥ बिनवंत नानक इछ पुनी जपत दीन दैआला ॥४॥३॥ Binvanṫ Naanak ichʰ punee japaṫ ḋeen ḋæ▫aalaa. ||4||3|| Prays Nanak, my desires are fulfilled by meditating on the Lord, Merciful to the meek. ||4||3||
