ਕੋਊ ਮਾਈ ਭੂਲਿਓ ਮਨੁ ਸਮਝਾਵੈ ॥ कोऊ माई भूलिओ मनु समझावै ॥ Ko▫ū mā▫ī bẖūli▫o man samjẖāvai. O mother, if only someone would instruct my wayward mind. ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੯ ॥ गउड़ी महला ९ ॥ Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 9. Gauree, Ninth Mehl: ਦੁਰਲਭ ਦੇਹ ਪਾਇ ਮਾਨਸ ਕੀ ਬਿਰਥਾ ਜਨਮੁ ਸਿਰਾਵੈ ॥ दुरलभ देह पाइ मानस की बिरथा जनमु सिरावै ॥ Ḏurlabẖ ḏeh pā▫e mānas kī birthā janam sirāvai. Having obtained this human body, so very difficult to obtain, it is now being uselessly wasted. ਬੇਦ ਪੁਰਾਨ ਸਾਧ ਮਗ ਸੁਨਿ ਕਰਿ ਨਿਮਖ ਨ ਹਰਿ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ बेद पुरान साध मग सुनि करि निमख न हरि गुन गावै ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Beḏ purān sāḏẖ mag sun kar nimakẖ na har gun gāvai. ||1|| rahā▫o. This mind listens to the Vedas, the Puraanas, and the ways of the Holy Saints, but it does not sing the Glorious Praises of the Lord, for even an instant. ||1||Pause|| ਮਾਇਆ ਮੋਹ ਮਹਾ ਸੰਕਟ ਬਨ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਰੁਚ ਉਪਜਾਵੈ ॥੧॥ माइआ मोह महा संकट बन ता सिउ रुच उपजावै ॥१॥ Mā▫i▫ā moh mahā sankat ban ṯā si▫o rucẖ upjāvai. ||1|| Emotional attachment to Maya is such a treacherous wilderness, and yet, people are in love with it. ||1|| ਅੰਤਰਿ ਬਾਹਰਿ ਸਦਾ ਸੰਗਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਤਾ ਸਿਉ ਨੇਹੁ ਨ ਲਾਵੈ ॥ अंतरि बाहरि सदा संगि प्रभु ता सिउ नेहु न लावै ॥ Anṯar bāhar saḏā sang parabẖ ṯā si▫o nehu na lāvai. Inwardly and outwardly, God is always with them, and yet, they do not enshrine Love for Him. ਨਾਨਕ ਮੁਕਤਿ ਤਾਹਿ ਤੁਮ ਮਾਨਹੁ ਜਿਹ ਘਟਿ ਰਾਮੁ ਸਮਾਵੈ ॥੨॥੬॥ नानक मुकति ताहि तुम मानहु जिह घटि रामु समावै ॥२॥६॥ Nānak mukaṯ ṯāhi ṯum mānhu jih gẖat rām samāvai. ||2||6|| O Nanak, know that those whose hearts are filled with the Lord are liberated. ||2||6||
