ਗਉੜੀ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ गउड़ी महला ५ ॥ Ga▫oṛī mėhlā 5. Gauree, Fifth Mehl: ਜਨ ਕੀ ਧੂਰਿ ਮਨ ਮੀਠ ਖਟਾਨੀ ॥ जन की धूरि मन मीठ खटानी ॥ Jan kī ḏẖūr man mīṯẖ kẖatānī. The dust of the feet of the humble beings is so sweet to my mind. ਪੂਰਬਿ ਕਰਮਿ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਧੁਰਿ ਪ੍ਰਾਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ पूरबि करमि लिखिआ धुरि प्रानी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Pūrab karam likẖi▫ā ḏẖur parānī. ||1|| rahā▫o. Perfect karma is the mortal's pre-ordained destiny. ||1||Pause|| ਅਹੰਬੁਧਿ ਮਨ ਪੂਰਿ ਥਿਧਾਈ ॥ अह्मबुधि मन पूरि थिधाई ॥ Ahaʼn▫buḏẖ man pūr thiḏẖā▫ī. The mind is overflowing with the greasy dirt of egotistical pride. ਸਾਧ ਧੂਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਸੁਧ ਮੰਜਾਈ ॥੧॥ साध धूरि करि सुध मंजाई ॥१॥ Sāḏẖ ḏẖūr kar suḏẖ manjā▫ī. ||1|| With the dust of the feet of the Holy, it is scrubbed clean. ||1|| ਅਨਿਕ ਜਲਾ ਜੇ ਧੋਵੈ ਦੇਹੀ ॥ अनिक जला जे धोवै देही ॥ Anik jalā je ḏẖovai ḏehī. The body may be washed with loads of water, ਮੈਲੁ ਨ ਉਤਰੈ ਸੁਧੁ ਨ ਤੇਹੀ ॥੨॥ मैलु न उतरै सुधु न तेही ॥२॥ Mail na uṯrai suḏẖ na ṯehī. ||2|| and yet its filth is not removed, and it does not become clean. ||2|| ਹਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਸਿਮਰਿ ਕਾਟਿਆ ਭਉ ਕਾਲ ॥੩॥ हरि सिमरि सिमरि काटिआ भउ काल ॥३॥ Har simar simar kāti▫ā bẖa▫o kāl. ||3|| Meditating, meditating in remembrance on the Lord, I am rid of the fear of death. ||3|| ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਭੇਟਿਓ ਸਦਾ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲ ॥ सतिगुरु भेटिओ सदा क्रिपाल ॥ Saṯgur bẖeti▫o saḏā kirpāl. I have met the True Guru, who is merciful forever. ਮੁਕਤਿ ਭੁਗਤਿ ਜੁਗਤਿ ਹਰਿ ਨਾਉ ॥ मुकति भुगति जुगति हरि नाउ ॥ Mukaṯ bẖugaṯ jugaṯ har nā▫o. Liberation, pleasures and worldly success are all in the Lord's Name. ਪ੍ਰੇਮ ਭਗਤਿ ਨਾਨਕ ਗੁਣ ਗਾਉ ॥੪॥੧੦੦॥੧੬੯॥ प्रेम भगति नानक गुण गाउ ॥४॥१००॥१६९॥ Parem bẖagaṯ Nānak guṇ gā▫o. ||4||100||169|| With loving devotional worship, O Nanak, sing His Glorious Praises. ||4||100||169||
