ਜੈਸੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਊਪਰਿਮੇਘੁਲਾ ਬਰਸਤੁ ਹੈ ਕਿਆ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਧੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ जैसी धरती ऊपरिमेघुला बरसतु है किआ धरती मधे पाणी नाही ॥ Jaisī ḏẖarṯī ūpar megẖulā barsaṯ hai ki▫ā ḏẖarṯī maḏẖe pāṇī nāhī. The clouds pour their rain down upon the earth, but isn't there water within the earth as well? ਮਹਲਾ ੩ ਗਉੜੀ ਬੈਰਾਗਣਿ ॥ महला ३ गउड़ी बैरागणि ॥ Mėhlā 3 ga▫oṛī bairāgaṇ. Third Mehl, Gauree Bairaagan: ਜੈਸੇ ਧਰਤੀ ਮਧੇ ਪਾਣੀ ਪਰਗਾਸਿਆ ਬਿਨੁ ਪਗਾ ਵਰਸਤ ਫਿਰਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ जैसे धरती मधे पाणी परगासिआ बिनु पगा वरसत फिराही ॥१॥ Jaise ḏẖarṯī maḏẖe pāṇī pargāsi▫ā bin pagā varsaṯ firā▫ī. ||1|| Water is contained within the earth; without feet, the clouds run around and let down their rain. ||1|| ਬਾਬਾ ਤੂੰ ਐਸੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਚੁਕਾਹੀ ॥ बाबा तूं ऐसे भरमु चुकाही ॥ Bābā ṯūʼn aise bẖaram cẖukāhī. O Baba, get rid of your doubts like this. ਜੋ ਕਿਛੁ ਕਰਤੁ ਹੈ ਸੋਈ ਕੋਈ ਹੈ ਰੇ ਤੈਸੇ ਜਾਇ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जो किछु करतु है सोई कोई है रे तैसे जाइ समाही ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jo kicẖẖ karaṯ hai so▫ī ko▫ī hai re ṯaise jā▫e samāhī. ||1|| rahā▫o. As you act, so shall you become, and so you shall go and mingle. ||1||Pause|| ਇਸਤਰੀ ਪੁਰਖ ਹੋਇ ਕੈ ਕਿਆ ਓਇ ਕਰਮ ਕਮਾਹੀ ॥ इसतरी पुरख होइ कै किआ ओइ करम कमाही ॥ Isṯarī purakẖ ho▫e kai ki▫ā o▫e karam kamāhī. As woman or man, what can anyone do? ਨਾਨਾ ਰੂਪ ਸਦਾ ਹਹਿ ਤੇਰੇ ਤੁਝ ਹੀ ਮਾਹਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੨॥ नाना रूप सदा हहि तेरे तुझ ही माहि समाही ॥२॥ Nānā rūp saḏā hėh ṯere ṯujẖ hī māhi samāhī. ||2|| The many and various forms are always Yours, O Lord; they shall merge again into You. ||2|| ਇਤਨੇ ਜਨਮ ਭੂਲਿ ਪਰੇ ਸੇ ਜਾ ਪਾਇਆ ਤਾ ਭੂਲੇ ਨਾਹੀ ॥ इतने जनम भूलि परे से जा पाइआ ता भूले नाही ॥ Iṯne janam bẖūl pare se jā pā▫i▫ā ṯā bẖūle nāhī. In countless incarnations, I went astray. Now that I have found You, I shall no longer wander. ਜਾ ਕਾ ਕਾਰਜੁ ਸੋਈ ਪਰੁ ਜਾਣੈ ਜੇ ਗੁਰ ਕੈ ਸਬਦਿ ਸਮਾਹੀ ॥੩॥ जा का कारजु सोई परु जाणै जे गुर कै सबदि समाही ॥३॥ Jā kā kāraj so▫ī par jāṇai je gur kai sabaḏ samāhī. ||3|| It is His work; those who are absorbed in the Word of the Guru's Shabad come to know it well. ||3|| ਤੇਰਾ ਸਬਦੁ ਤੂੰਹੈ ਹਹਿ ਆਪੇ ਭਰਮੁ ਕਹਾਹੀ ॥ तेरा सबदु तूंहै हहि आपे भरमु कहाही ॥ Ŧerā sabaḏ ṯūʼnhai hėh āpe bẖaram kahāhī. The Shabad is Yours; You are Yourself. Where is there any doubt? ਨਾਨਕ ਤਤੁ ਤਤ ਸਿਉ ਮਿਲਿਆ ਪੁਨਰਪਿ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਆਹੀ ॥੪॥੧॥੧੫॥੩੫॥ नानक ततु तत सिउ मिलिआ पुनरपि जनमि न आही ॥४॥१॥१५॥३५॥ Nānak ṯaṯ ṯaṯ si▫o mili▫ā punrap janam na āhī. ||4||1||15||35|| O Nanak, one whose essence is merged with the Lord's essence does not have to enter the cycle of reincarnation again. ||4||1||15||35||
