ਤੁਮੀ ਤੁਮਾ ਵਿਸੁ ਅਕੁ ਧਤੂਰਾ ਨਿਮੁ ਫਲੁ ॥ तुमी तुमा विसु अकु धतूरा निमु फलु ॥ Ŧumī ṯumā vis ak ḏẖaṯūrā nim fal. Bitter melon, swallow-wort, thorn-apple and nim fruit - ਸਲੋਕੁ ਮਃ ੧ ॥ सलोकु मः १ ॥ Salok mėhlā 1. Shalok, First Mehl: ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਵਸਹਿ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਤੂੰ ਚਿਤਿ ਨ ਆਵਹੀ ॥ मनि मुखि वसहि तिसु जिसु तूं चिति न आवही ॥ Man mukẖ vasėh ṯis jis ṯūʼn cẖiṯ na āvhī. these bitter poisons lodge in the minds and mouths of those who do not remember You. ਨਾਨਕ ਕਹੀਐ ਕਿਸੁ ਹੰਢਨਿ ਕਰਮਾ ਬਾਹਰੇ ॥੧॥ नानक कहीऐ किसु हंढनि करमा बाहरे ॥१॥ Nānak kahī▫ai kis handẖan karmā bāhre. ||1|| O Nanak, how shall I tell them this? Without the karma of good deeds, they are only destroying themselves. ||1||
