ਮੁਆ ਪਿਆਰੁ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਮੁਈ ਮੁਆ ਵੈਰੁ ਵਾਦੀ ॥ मुआ पिआरु प्रीति मुई मुआ वैरु वादी ॥ Mu▫ā pi▫ār parīṯ mu▫ī mu▫ā vair vāḏī. Love dies, and affection dies; hatred and strife die. ਮਃ ੧ ॥ मः १ ॥ Mėhlā 1. First Mehl: ਕਿਥਹੁ ਆਇਆ ਕਹ ਗਇਆ ਕਿਹੁ ਨ ਸੀਓ ਕਿਹੁ ਸੀ ॥ किथहु आइआ कह गइआ किहु न सीओ किहु सी ॥ Kithhu ā▫i▫ā kah ga▫i▫ā kihu na sī▫o kihu sī. Where did he come from? Where is he going? Did he exist or not? ਵੰਨੁ ਗਇਆ ਰੂਪੁ ਵਿਣਸਿਆ ਦੁਖੀ ਦੇਹ ਰੁਲੀ ॥ वंनु गइआ रूपु विणसिआ दुखी देह रुली ॥ vann ga▫i▫ā rūp viṇsi▫ā ḏukẖī ḏeh rulī. The color fades, and beauty vanishes; the body suffers and collapses. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਚੇ ਨਾਮ ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਰ ਖੁਰ ਪਤਿ ਪਾਟੀ ॥੨॥ नानक सचे नाम बिनु सिर खुर पति पाटी ॥२॥ Nānak sacẖe nām bin sir kẖur paṯ pātī. ||2|| O Nanak, without the True Name, his honor is torn away, from head to foot. ||2|| ਮਨਿ ਮੁਖਿ ਗਲਾ ਗੋਈਆ ਕੀਤਾ ਚਾਉ ਰਲੀ ॥ मनि मुखि गला गोईआ कीता चाउ रली ॥ Man mukẖ galā go▫ī▫ā kīṯā cẖā▫o ralī. The self-willed manmukh made empty boasts, indulging in parties and pleasures.
