ਜੀਆ ਅੰਦਰਿ ਜੀਉ ਸਬਦੁ ਹੈ ਜਿਤੁ ਸਹ ਮੇਲਾਵਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ जीआ अंदरि जीउ सबदु है जितु सह मेलावा होइ ॥ Jī▫ā anḏar jī▫o sabaḏ hai jiṯ sah melāvā ho▫e. The life within all living beings is the Word of the Shabad. Through it, we meet our Husband Lord. ਮਃ ੩ ॥ मः ३ ॥ Mėhlā 3. Third Mehl: ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋਨੀ ਪੜਿ ਪੜਿ ਥਕੇ ਭੇਖ ਥਕੇ ਤਨੁ ਧੋਇ ॥ पंडित मोनी पड़ि पड़ि थके भेख थके तनु धोइ ॥ Pandiṯ monī paṛ paṛ thake bẖekẖ thake ṯan ḏẖo▫e. The Pandits, the religious scholars, and the silent sages read and write until they are weary. The religious fanatics are tired of washing their bodies. ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਜਗਿ ਆਨ੍ਹ੍ਹੇਰੁ ਹੈ ਸਬਦੇ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਹੋਇ ॥ बिनु सबदै जगि आन्हेरु है सबदे परगटु होइ ॥ Bin sabḏai jag ānĥer hai sabḏe pargat ho▫e. Without the Shabad, the world is in darkness. Through the Shabad, it is enlightened. ਨਾਨਕ ਨਦਰੀ ਪਾਈਐ ਕਰਮਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਹੋਇ ॥੨॥ नानक नदरी पाईऐ करमि परापति होइ ॥२॥ Nānak naḏrī pā▫ī▫ai karam parāpaṯ ho▫e. ||2|| O Nanak, by His Glance of Grace, the Merciful Lord is attained. ||2|| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਬਦੈ ਕਿਨੈ ਨ ਪਾਇਓ ਦੁਖੀਏ ਚਲੇ ਰੋਇ ॥ बिनु सबदै किनै न पाइओ दुखीए चले रोइ ॥ Bin sabḏai kinai na pā▫i▫o ḏukẖī▫e cẖale ro▫e. Without the Shabad, no one attains the Lord; the miserable depart weeping and wailing.
