ਪੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਪੜ੍ਹ੍ਹਿ ਪੰਡਿਤ ਮੋੁਨੀ ਥਕੇ ਦੇਸੰਤਰ ਭਵਿ ਥਕੇ ਭੇਖਧਾਰੀ ॥ पड़्हि पड़्हि पंडित मोनी थके देसंतर भवि थके भेखधारी ॥ Paṛĥ paṛĥ pandiṯ monī thake ḏesanṯar bẖav thake bẖekẖ▫ḏẖārī. The Pandits, the religious scholars and the silent sages read and recite until they get tired. They wander through foreign lands in their religious robes, until they are exhausted. ਸਲੋਕ ਮਃ ੩ ॥ सलोक मः ३ ॥ Salok mėhlā 3. Shalok, Third Mehl: ਮੂਰਖ ਅੰਧੇ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਗੁਣ ਸੇਵਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਕੈ ਬਿਉਹਾਰੀ ॥ मूरख अंधे त्रै गुण सेवहि माइआ कै बिउहारी ॥ Mūrakẖ anḏẖe ṯarai guṇ sevėh mā▫i▫ā kai bi▫uhārī. The blind fools serve the three gunas, the three dispositions; they deal only with Maya. ਦੂਜੈ ਭਾਇ ਨਾਉ ਕਦੇ ਨ ਪਾਇਨਿ ਦੁਖੁ ਲਾਗਾ ਅਤਿ ਭਾਰੀ ॥ दूजै भाइ नाउ कदे न पाइनि दुखु लागा अति भारी ॥ Ḏūjai bẖā▫e nā▫o kaḏe na pā▫in ḏukẖ lāgā aṯ bẖārī. In love with duality, they never receive the Name. Held in the grasp of pain, they suffer terribly. ਅੰਦਰਿ ਕਪਟੁ ਉਦਰੁ ਭਰਣ ਕੈ ਤਾਈ ਪਾਠ ਪੜਹਿ ਗਾਵਾਰੀ ॥ अंदरि कपटु उदरु भरण कै ताई पाठ पड़हि गावारी ॥ Anḏar kapat uḏar bẖaraṇ kai ṯā▫ī pāṯẖ paṛėh gāvārī. With deception in their hearts, the fools read sacred texts to fill their bellies. ਸਤਿਗੁਰੁ ਸੇਵੇ ਸੋ ਸੁਖੁ ਪਾਏ ਜਿਨ ਹਉਮੈ ਵਿਚਹੁ ਮਾਰੀ ॥ सतिगुरु सेवे सो सुखु पाए जिन हउमै विचहु मारी ॥ Saṯgur seve so sukẖ pā▫e jin ha▫umai vicẖahu mārī. One who serves the True Guru finds peace; he eradicates egotism from within. ਨਾਨਕ ਪੜਣਾ ਗੁਨਣਾ ਇਕੁ ਨਾਉ ਹੈ ਬੂਝੈ ਕੋ ਬੀਚਾਰੀ ॥੧॥ नानक पड़णा गुनणा इकु नाउ है बूझै को बीचारी ॥१॥ Nānak paṛ▫ṇā gunṇā ik nā▫o hai būjẖai ko bīcẖārī. ||1|| O Nanak, there is One Name to chant and dwell on; how rare are those who reflect on this and understand. ||1||
