ਹਰਿ ਬਿਨੁ ਕਿਉ ਧੀਰੈ ਮਨੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ हरि बिनु किउ धीरै मनु मेरा ॥ Har bin ki▫o ḏẖīrai man merā. Without the Lord, how can my mind be comforted? ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ॥ सारग महला १ ॥ Sārag mėhlā 1. Saarang, First Mehl: ਕੋਟਿ ਕਲਪ ਕੇ ਦੂਖ ਬਿਨਾਸਨ ਸਾਚੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਇ ਨਿਬੇਰਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ कोटि कलप के दूख बिनासन साचु द्रिड़ाइ निबेरा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Kot kalap ke ḏūkẖ bināsan sācẖ driṛ▫ā▫e niberā. ||1|| rahā▫o. The guilt and sin of millions of ages is erased, and one is released from the cycle of reincarnation, when the Truth is implanted within. ||1||Pause|| ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਨਿਵਾਰਿ ਜਲੇ ਹਉ ਮਮਤਾ ਪ੍ਰੇਮੁ ਸਦਾ ਨਉ ਰੰਗੀ ॥ क्रोधु निवारि जले हउ ममता प्रेमु सदा नउ रंगी ॥ Kroḏẖ nivār jale ha▫o mamṯā parem saḏā na▫o rangī. Anger is gone, egotism and attachment have been burnt away; I am imbued with His ever-fresh Love. ਅਨਭਉ ਬਿਸਰਿ ਗਏ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਜਾਚਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਾਇਲੁ ਸੰਗੀ ॥੧॥ अनभउ बिसरि गए प्रभु जाचिआ हरि निरमाइलु संगी ॥१॥ Anbẖa▫o bisar ga▫e parabẖ jācẖi▫ā har nirmā▫il sangī. ||1|| Other fears are forgotten, begging at God's Door. The Immaculate Lord is my Companion. ||1|| ਚੰਚਲ ਮਤਿ ਤਿਆਗਿ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਪਾਇਆ ਏਕ ਸਬਦਿ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ चंचल मति तिआगि भउ भंजनु पाइआ एक सबदि लिव लागी ॥ Cẖancẖal maṯ ṯi▫āg bẖa▫o bẖanjan pā▫i▫ā ek sabaḏ liv lāgī. Forsaking my fickle intellect, I have found God, the Destroyer of fear; I am lovingly attuned to the One Word, the Shabad. ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਚਾਖਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਖਾ ਨਿਵਾਰੀ ਹਰਿ ਮੇਲਿ ਲਏ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ॥੨॥ हरि रसु चाखि त्रिखा निवारी हरि मेलि लए बडभागी ॥२॥ Har ras cẖākẖ ṯarikẖā nivārī har mel la▫e badbẖāgī. ||2|| Tasting the sublime essence of the Lord, my thirst is quenched; by great good fortune, the Lord has united me with Himself. ||2|| ਅਭਰਤ ਸਿੰਚਿ ਭਏ ਸੁਭਰ ਸਰ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਸਾਚੁ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ॥ अभरत सिंचि भए सुभर सर गुरमति साचु निहाला ॥ Abẖraṯ sincẖ bẖa▫e subẖar sar gurmaṯ sācẖ nihālā. The empty tank has been filled to overflowing. Following the Guru's Teachings, I am enraptured with the True Lord. ਮਨ ਰਤਿ ਨਾਮਿ ਰਤੇ ਨਿਹਕੇਵਲ ਆਦਿ ਜੁਗਾਦਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੩॥ मन रति नामि रते निहकेवल आदि जुगादि दइआला ॥३॥ Man raṯ nām raṯe nihkeval āḏ jugāḏ ḏa▫i▫ālā. ||3|| My mind is imbued with love for the Naam. The Immaculate Lord is merciful, from the beginning of time, and throughout the ages. ||3|| ਮੋਹਨਿ ਮੋਹਿ ਲੀਆ ਮਨੁ ਮੋਰਾ ਬਡੈ ਭਾਗ ਲਿਵ ਲਾਗੀ ॥ मोहनि मोहि लीआ मनु मोरा बडै भाग लिव लागी ॥ Mohan mohi lī▫ā man morā badai bẖāg liv lāgī. My mind is fascinated with the Fascinating Lord. By great good fortune, I am lovingly attuned to Him. ਸਾਚੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਦੁਖ ਕਾਟੇ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਅਨਰਾਗੀ ॥੪॥ साचु बीचारि किलविख दुख काटे मनु निरमलु अनरागी ॥४॥ Sācẖ bīcẖār kilvikẖ ḏukẖ kāte man nirmal anrāgī. ||4|| Contemplating the True Lord, all the resides of sins and mistakes are wiped away. My mind is pure and immaculate in His Love. ||4|| ਗਹਿਰ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਸਾਗਰ ਰਤਨਾਗਰ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਅਨ ਪੂਜਾ ॥ गहिर ग्मभीर सागर रतनागर अवर नही अन पूजा ॥ Gahir gambẖīr sāgar raṯnāgar avar nahī an pūjā. God is the Deep and Unfathomable Ocean, the Source of all jewels; no other is worthy of worship. ਸਬਦੁ ਬੀਚਾਰਿ ਭਰਮ ਭਉ ਭੰਜਨੁ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਦੂਜਾ ॥੫॥ सबदु बीचारि भरम भउ भंजनु अवरु न जानिआ दूजा ॥५॥ Sabaḏ bīcẖār bẖaram bẖa▫o bẖanjan avar na jāni▫ā ḏūjā. ||5|| I contemplate the Shabad, the Destroyer of doubt and fear; I do not know any other at all. ||5|| ਮਨੂਆ ਮਾਰਿ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਪਦੁ ਚੀਨਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਰਤੇ ਅਧਿਕਾਈ ॥ मनूआ मारि निरमल पदु चीनिआ हरि रस रते अधिकाई ॥ Manū▫ā mār nirmal paḏ cẖīni▫ā har ras raṯe aḏẖikā▫ī. Subduing my mind, I have realized the pure status; I am totally imbued with the sublime essence of the Lord. ਏਕਸ ਬਿਨੁ ਮੈ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਾਂ ਸਤਿਗੁਰਿ ਬੂਝ ਬੁਝਾਈ ॥੬॥ एकस बिनु मै अवरु न जानां सतिगुरि बूझ बुझाई ॥६॥ Ėkas bin mai avar na jānāʼn saṯgur būjẖ bujẖā▫ī. ||6|| I do not know any other except the Lord. The True Guru has imparted this understanding. ||6|| ਅਗਮ ਅਗੋਚਰੁ ਅਨਾਥੁ ਅਜੋਨੀ ਗੁਰਮਤਿ ਏਕੋ ਜਾਨਿਆ ॥ अगम अगोचरु अनाथु अजोनी गुरमति एको जानिआ ॥ Agam agocẖar anāth ajonī gurmaṯ eko jāni▫ā. God is Inaccessible and Unfathomable, Unmastered and Unborn; through the Guru's Teachings, I know the One Lord. ਸੁਭਰ ਭਰੇ ਨਾਹੀ ਚਿਤੁ ਡੋਲੈ ਮਨ ਹੀ ਤੇ ਮਨੁ ਮਾਨਿਆ ॥੭॥ सुभर भरे नाही चितु डोलै मन ही ते मनु मानिआ ॥७॥ Subẖar bẖare nāhī cẖiṯ dolai man hī ṯe man māni▫ā. ||7|| Filled to overflowing, my consciousness does not waver; through the Mind, my mind is pleased and appeased. ||7|| ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦੀ ਅਕਥਉ ਕਥੀਐ ਕਹਉ ਕਹਾਵੈ ਸੋਈ ॥ गुर परसादी अकथउ कथीऐ कहउ कहावै सोई ॥ Gur parsādī aktha▫o kathī▫ai kaha▫o kahāvai so▫ī. By Guru's Grace, I speak the Unspoken; I speak what He makes me speak. ਨਾਨਕ ਦੀਨ ਦਇਆਲ ਹਮਾਰੇ ਅਵਰੁ ਨ ਜਾਨਿਆ ਕੋਈ ॥੮॥੨॥ नानक दीन दइआल हमारे अवरु न जानिआ कोई ॥८॥२॥ Nānak ḏīn ḏa▫i▫āl hamāre avar na jāni▫ā ko▫ī. ||8||2|| O Nanak, my Lord is Merciful to the meek; I do not know any other at all. ||8||2|| ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ.
