ਮੇਰੈ ਮਨਿ ਬਾਸਿਬੋ ਗੁਰ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ॥
मेरै मनि बासिबो गुर गोबिंद ॥
Méræ man baasibo gur gobinḋ.
The Guru, the Lord of the Universe, dwells within my mind. ਸਾਰਗ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥

Saarang, Fifth Mehl: ਜਹਾਂ ਸਿਮਰਨੁ ਭਇਓ ਹੈ ਠਾਕੁਰ ਤਹਾਂ ਨਗਰ ਸੁਖ ਆਨੰਦ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥
जहां सिमरनु भइओ है ठाकुर तहां नगर सुख आनंद ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥
Jahaaⁿ simran bʰa▫i▫o hæ tʰaakur ṫahaaⁿ nagar sukʰ aananḋ. ||1|| rahaa▫o.
Wherever my Lord and Master is remembered in meditation - that village is filled with peace and bliss. ||1||Pause|| ਜਹਾਂ ਬੀਸਰੈ ਠਾਕੁਰੁ ਪਿਆਰੋ ਤਹਾਂ ਦੂਖ ਸਭ ਆਪਦ ॥
जहां बीसरै ठाकुरु पिआरो तहां दूख सभ आपद ॥
Jahaaⁿ beesræ tʰaakur pi▫aaro ṫahaaⁿ ḋookʰ sabʰ aapaḋ.
Wherever my Beloved Lord and Master is forgotten - all misery and misfortune is there. ਜਹ ਗੁਨ ਗਾਇ ਆਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਰੂਪ ਤਹਾਂ ਸਦਾ ਸੁਖ ਸੰਪਦ ॥੧॥
जह गुन गाइ आनंद मंगल रूप तहां सदा सुख स्मपद ॥१॥
Jah gun gaa▫é aananḋ mangal roop ṫahaaⁿ saḋaa sukʰ sampaḋ. ||1||
Where the Praises of my Lord, the Embodiment of Bliss and Joy are sung - eternal peace and wealth are there. ||1|| ਜਹਾ ਸ੍ਰਵਨ ਹਰਿ ਕਥਾ ਨ ਸੁਨੀਐ ਤਹ ਮਹਾ ਭਇਆਨ ਉਦਿਆਨਦ ॥
जहा स्रवन हरि कथा न सुनीऐ तह महा भइआन उदिआनद ॥
Jahaa sarvan har kaṫʰaa na sunee▫æ ṫah mahaa bʰa▫i▫aan uḋi▫aanaḋ.
Wherever they do not listen to the Stories of the Lord with their ears - the utterly desolate wilderness is there. ਜਹਾਂ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਰਸੁ ਤਹ ਸਘਨ ਬਾਸ ਫਲਾਂਨਦ ॥੨॥
जहां कीरतनु साधसंगति रसु तह सघन बास फलांनद ॥२॥
Jahaaⁿ keerṫan saaḋʰsangaṫ ras ṫah sagʰan baas falaaⁿnaḋ. ||2||
Where the Kirtan of the Lord’s Praises are sung with love in the Saadh Sangat - there is fragrance and fruit and joy in abundance. ||2|| ਬਿਨੁ ਸਿਮਰਨ ਕੋਟਿ ਬਰਖ ਜੀਵੈ ਸਗਲੀ ਅਉਧ ਬ੍ਰਿਥਾਨਦ ॥
बिनु सिमरन कोटि बरख जीवै सगली अउध ब्रिथानद ॥
Bin simran kot barakʰ jeevæ saglee a▫oḋʰ bariṫʰaanaḋ.
Without meditative remembrance of the Lord, one may live for millions of years, but his life would be totally useless. ਏਕ ਨਿਮਖ ਗੋਬਿੰਦ ਭਜਨੁ ਕਰਿ ਤਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜੀਵਾਨਦ ॥੩॥
एक निमख गोबिंद भजनु करि तउ सदा सदा जीवानद ॥३॥
Ék nimakʰ gobinḋ bʰajan kar ṫa▫o saḋaa saḋaa jeevaanaḋ. ||3||
But if he vibrates and meditates on the Lord of the Universe, for even a moment, then he shall live forever and ever. ||3|| ਸਰਨਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਸਰਨਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਵਉ ਦੀਜੈ ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਕਿਰਪਾਨਦ ॥
सरनि सरनि सरनि प्रभ पावउ दीजै साधसंगति किरपानद ॥
Saran saran saran parabʰ paava▫o ḋeejæ saaḋʰsangaṫ kirpaanaḋ.
O God, I seek Your Sanctuary, Your Sanctuary, Your Sanctuary; please mercifully bless me with the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ਨਾਨਕ ਪੂਰਿ ਰਹਿਓ ਹੈ ਸਰਬ ਮੈ ਸਗਲ ਗੁਣਾ ਬਿਧਿ ਜਾਂਨਦ ॥੪॥੭॥
नानक पूरि रहिओ है सरब मै सगल गुणा बिधि जांनद ॥४॥७॥
Naanak poor rahi▫o hæ sarab mæ sagal guṇaa biḋʰ jaaⁿnaḋ. ||4||7||
O Nanak! The Lord is All-pervading everywhere, amongst all. He knows the qualities and the condition of all. ||4||7|| |
