ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ बसंतु महला ५ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 5. Basant, Fifth Mehl: ਮਿਲਿ ਪਾਣੀ ਜਿਉ ਹਰੇ ਬੂਟ ॥ मिलि पाणी जिउ हरे बूट ॥ Mil pāṇī ji▫o hare būt. As the plant turns green upon receiving water, ਸਾਧਸੰਗਤਿ ਤਿਉ ਹਉਮੈ ਛੂਟ ॥ साधसंगति तिउ हउमै छूट ॥ Sāḏẖsangaṯ ṯi▫o ha▫umai cẖẖūt. just so, in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, egotism is eradicated. ਜੈਸੀ ਦਾਸੇ ਧੀਰ ਮੀਰ ॥ जैसी दासे धीर मीर ॥ Jaisī ḏāse ḏẖīr mīr. Just as the servant is encouraged by his ruler, ਤੈਸੇ ਉਧਾਰਨ ਗੁਰਹ ਪੀਰ ॥੧॥ तैसे उधारन गुरह पीर ॥१॥ Ŧaise uḏẖāran gurah pīr. ||1|| we are saved by the Guru. ||1|| ਤੁਮ ਦਾਤੇ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਦੇਨਹਾਰ ॥ तुम दाते प्रभ देनहार ॥ Ŧum ḏāṯe parabẖ ḏenhār. You are the Great Giver, O Generous Lord God. ਨਿਮਖ ਨਿਮਖ ਤਿਸੁ ਨਮਸਕਾਰ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ निमख निमख तिसु नमसकार ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Nimakẖ nimakẖ ṯis namaskār. ||1|| rahā▫o. Each and every instant, I humbly bow to You. ||1||Pause|| ਜਿਸਹਿ ਪਰਾਪਤਿ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥ जिसहि परापति साधसंगु ॥ Jisahi parāpaṯ sāḏẖsang. Whoever enters the Saadh Sangat- ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਲਾਗਾ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਰੰਗੁ ॥ तिसु जन लागा पारब्रहम रंगु ॥ Ŧis jan lāgā pārbarahm rang. that humble being is imbued with the Love of the Supreme Lord God. ਤੇ ਬੰਧਨ ਤੇ ਭਏ ਮੁਕਤਿ ॥ ते बंधन ते भए मुकति ॥ Ŧe banḏẖan ṯe bẖa▫e mukaṯ. He is liberated from bondage. ਭਗਤ ਅਰਾਧਹਿ ਜੋਗ ਜੁਗਤਿ ॥੨॥ भगत अराधहि जोग जुगति ॥२॥ Bẖagaṯ arāḏẖėh jog jugaṯ. ||2|| His devotees worship Him in adoration; they are united in His Union. ||2|| ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਸੰਤੋਖੇ ਦਰਸੁ ਪੇਖਿ ॥ नेत्र संतोखे दरसु पेखि ॥ Neṯar sanṯokẖe ḏaras pekẖ. My eyes are content, gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan. ਮਨੁ ਆਘਾਨਾ ਹਰਿ ਰਸਹਿ ਸੁਆਦਿ ॥੩॥ मनु आघाना हरि रसहि सुआदि ॥३॥ Man āgẖānā har rasėh su▫āḏ. ||3|| My mind is satisfied, with the sublime taste of the Lord's subtle essence. ||3|| ਤ੍ਰਿਸਨਾ ਬੂਝੀ ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ त्रिसना बूझी गुर प्रसादि ॥ Ŧarisnā būjẖī gur parsāḏ. My thirst is quenched, by Guru's Grace. ਰਸਨਾ ਗਾਏ ਗੁਣ ਅਨੇਕ ॥ रसना गाए गुण अनेक ॥ Rasnā gā▫e guṇ anek. My tongue sings the Infinite Praises of God. ਸੇਵਕੁ ਲਾਗੋ ਚਰਣ ਸੇਵ ॥ सेवकु लागो चरण सेव ॥ Sevak lāgo cẖaraṇ sev. Your servant is committed to the service of Your Feet, ਆਦਿ ਪੁਰਖ ਅਪਰੰਪਰ ਦੇਵ ॥ आदि पुरख अपर्मपर देव ॥ Āḏ purakẖ aprampar ḏev. O Primal Infinite Divine Being. ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰਣ ਤੇਰੋ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ सगल उधारण तेरो नामु ॥ Sagal uḏẖāraṇ ṯero nām. Your Name is the Saving Grace of all. ਨਾਨਕ ਪਾਇਓ ਇਹੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੬॥ नानक पाइओ इहु निधानु ॥४॥६॥ Nānak pā▫i▫o ih niḏẖān. ||4||6|| Nanak has received this treasure. ||4||6||
