ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲੁ ॥ तिसु बसंतु जिसु प्रभु क्रिपालु ॥ Ŧis basanṯ jis parabẖ kirpāl. He alone experiences this springtime of the soul, unto whom God grants His Grace. ਤਿਸੁ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਦਇਆਲੁ ॥ तिसु बसंतु जिसु गुरु दइआलु ॥ Ŧis basanṯ jis gur ḏa▫i▫āl. He alone experiences this springtime of the soul, unto whom the Guru is merciful. ਬਸੰਤੁ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ बसंतु महला ५ ॥ Basanṯ mėhlā 5. Basant, Fifth Mehl: ਮੰਗਲੁ ਤਿਸ ਕੈ ਜਿਸੁ ਏਕੁ ਕਾਮੁ ॥ मंगलु तिस कै जिसु एकु कामु ॥ Mangal ṯis kai jis ek kām. He alone is joyful, who works for the One Lord. ਤਿਸੁ ਸਦ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦੈ ਨਾਮੁ ॥੧॥ तिसु सद बसंतु जिसु रिदै नामु ॥१॥ Ŧis saḏ basanṯ jis riḏai nām. ||1|| He alone experiences this eternal springtime of the soul, within whose heart the Naam, the Name of the Lord, abides. ||1|| ਗ੍ਰਿਹਿ ਤਾ ਕੇ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਗਨੀ ॥ ग्रिहि ता के बसंतु गनी ॥ Garihi ṯā ke basanṯ ganī. This spring comes only to those homes, ਜਾ ਕੈ ਕੀਰਤਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਧੁਨੀ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जा कै कीरतनु हरि धुनी ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jā kai kīrṯan har ḏẖunī. ||1|| rahā▫o. in which the melody of the Kirtan of the Lord's Praises resounds. ||1||Pause|| ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਮਉਲਿ ਮਨਾ ॥ प्रीति पारब्रहम मउलि मना ॥ Parīṯ pārbarahm ma▫ul manā. O mortal, let your love for the Supreme Lord God blossom forth. ਗਿਆਨੁ ਕਮਾਈਐ ਪੂਛਿ ਜਨਾਂ ॥ गिआनु कमाईऐ पूछि जनां ॥ Gi▫ān kamā▫ī▫ai pūcẖẖ janāʼn. Practice spiritual wisdom, and consult the humble servants of the Lord. ਸਦ ਧਿਆਨੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਗੁਰਹਿ ਰੰਗੁ ॥੨॥ सद धिआनी जिसु गुरहि रंगु ॥२॥ Saḏ ḏẖi▫ānī jis gurėh rang. ||2|| He alone dwells in deep, continual meditation, who loves his Guru. ||2|| ਸੇ ਨਿਰਭਉ ਜਿਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਭਉ ਪਇਆ ॥ से निरभउ जिन्ह भउ पइआ ॥ Se nirbẖa▫o jinĥ bẖa▫o pa▫i▫ā. He alone is fearless, who has the Fear of God. ਸੋ ਤਪਸੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਸਾਧਸੰਗੁ ॥ सो तपसी जिसु साधसंगु ॥ So ṯapsī jis sāḏẖsang. He alone is an ascetic, who joins the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy. ਸੋ ਸੁਖੀਆ ਜਿਸੁ ਭ੍ਰਮੁ ਗਇਆ ॥ सो सुखीआ जिसु भ्रमु गइआ ॥ So sukẖī▫ā jis bẖaram ga▫i▫ā. He alone is peaceful, whose doubts are dispelled. ਸੋ ਇਕਾਂਤੀ ਜਿਸੁ ਰਿਦਾ ਥਾਇ ॥ सो इकांती जिसु रिदा थाइ ॥ So ikāʼnṯī jis riḏā thā▫e. He alone is a hermit, who heart is steady and stable. ਸੋਈ ਨਿਹਚਲੁ ਸਾਚ ਠਾਇ ॥੩॥ सोई निहचलु साच ठाइ ॥३॥ So▫ī nihcẖal sācẖ ṯẖā▫e. ||3|| He alone is steady and unmoving, who has found the true place. ||3|| ਏਕਾ ਖੋਜੈ ਏਕ ਪ੍ਰੀਤਿ ॥ एका खोजै एक प्रीति ॥ Ėkā kẖojai ek parīṯ. He seeks the One Lord, and loves the One Lord. ਦਰਸਨ ਪਰਸਨ ਹੀਤ ਚੀਤਿ ॥ दरसन परसन हीत चीति ॥ Ḏarsan parsan hīṯ cẖīṯ. He loves to gaze upon the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan. ਹਰਿ ਰੰਗ ਰੰਗਾ ਸਹਜਿ ਮਾਣੁ ॥ हरि रंग रंगा सहजि माणु ॥ Har rang rangā sahj māṇ. He intuitively enjoys the Love of the Lord. ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸ ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੁਰਬਾਣੁ ॥੪॥੩॥ नानक दास तिसु जन कुरबाणु ॥४॥३॥ Nānak ḏās ṯis jan kurbāṇ. ||4||3|| Slave Nanak is a sacrifice to that humble being. ||4||3|| ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਪਿੰਡ ਦੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ॥ जीअ प्राण तुम्ह पिंड दीन्ह ॥ Jī▫a parāṇ ṯumĥ pind ḏīnĥ. You gave us our soul, breath of life and body. ਸਭਿ ਜਾਚਿਕ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੁਮ੍ਹ੍ਹ ਦਇਆਲ ॥ सभि जाचिक प्रभ तुम्ह दइआल ॥ Sabẖ jācẖik parabẖ ṯumĥ ḏa▫i▫āl. We are all beggars, O God; You are merciful to us. ਮੁਗਧ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਧਾਰਿ ਜੋਤਿ ਕੀਨ੍ਹ੍ਹ ॥ मुगध सुंदर धारि जोति कीन्ह ॥ Mugaḏẖ sunḏar ḏẖār joṯ kīnĥ. I am a fool, but You have made me beautiful, enshrining Your Light within me.
