By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਮਹਲਾ ੧ ਬਸੰਤੁ ਹਿੰਡੋਲ ਘਰੁ ੨ महला १ बसंतु हिंडोल घरु २ Mėhlaa 1 basanṫ hindol gʰar 2 First Mehl, Basant Hindol, Second House: ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਬੇੜਾ ਬਾਂਧਹੁ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੧॥ राम नामु जपि बेड़ा बांधहु दइआ करहु दइआला ॥१॥ Raam naam jap béṛaa baaⁿḋʰahu ḋa▫i▫aa karahu ḋa▫i▫aalaa. ||1|| Chant the Name of the Lord. Build your boat, and pray, “O Merciful Lord, please be merciful to me.”||1|| ਸਾਲ ਗ੍ਰਾਮ ਬਿਪ ਪੂਜਿ ਮਨਾਵਹੁ ਸੁਕ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਤੁਲਸੀ ਮਾਲਾ ॥ साल ग्राम बिप पूजि मनावहु सुक्रितु तुलसी माला ॥ Saal garaam bip pooj manaavahu sukariṫ ṫulsee maalaa. O Brahmin, you worship and believe in your stone-god, and wear your ceremonial rosary beads. ਕਾਹੇ ਕਲਰਾ ਸਿੰਚਹੁ ਜਨਮੁ ਗਵਾਵਹੁ ॥ काहे कलरा सिंचहु जनमु गवावहु ॥ Kaahé kalraa sinchahu janam gavaavahu. Why do you irrigate the barren, alkaline soil? You are wasting your life away! ਕਾਚੀ ਢਹਗਿ ਦਿਵਾਲ ਕਾਹੇ ਗਚੁ ਲਾਵਹੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ काची ढहगि दिवाल काहे गचु लावहु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Kaachee dʰahag ḋivaal kaahé gach laavhu. ||1|| rahaa▫o. This wall of mud is crumbling. Why bother to patch it with plaster? ||1||Pause|| ਕਰ ਹਰਿਹਟ ਮਾਲ ਟਿੰਡ ਪਰੋਵਹੁ ਤਿਸੁ ਭੀਤਰਿ ਮਨੁ ਜੋਵਹੁ ॥ कर हरिहट माल टिंड परोवहु तिसु भीतरि मनु जोवहु ॥ Kar harihat maal tind parovahu ṫis bʰeeṫar man jovhu. Let your hands be the buckets, strung on the chain, and yoke the mind as the ox to pull it; draw the water up from the well. ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤੁ ਸਿੰਚਹੁ ਭਰਹੁ ਕਿਆਰੇ ਤਉ ਮਾਲੀ ਕੇ ਹੋਵਹੁ ॥੨॥ अमृतु सिंचहु भरहु किआरे तउ माली के होवहु ॥२॥ Amriṫ sinchahu bʰarahu ki▫aaré ṫa▫o maalee ké hovhu. ||2|| Irrigate your fields with the Ambrosial Nectar, and you shall be owned by God the Gardener. ||2|| ਕਾਮੁ ਕ੍ਰੋਧੁ ਦੁਇ ਕਰਹੁ ਬਸੋਲੇ ਗੋਡਹੁ ਧਰਤੀ ਭਾਈ ॥ कामु क्रोधु दुइ करहु बसोले गोडहु धरती भाई ॥ Kaam kroḋʰ ḋu▫é karahu basolé godahu ḋʰarṫee bʰaa▫ee. Let sexual desire and anger be your two shovels, to dig up the dirt of your farm, O Siblings of Destiny. ਜਿਉ ਗੋਡਹੁ ਤਿਉ ਤੁਮੑ ਸੁਖ ਪਾਵਹੁ ਕਿਰਤੁ ਨ ਮੇਟਿਆ ਜਾਈ ॥੩॥ जिउ गोडहु तिउ तुम्ह सुख पावहु किरतु न मेटिआ जाई ॥३॥ Ji▫o godahu ṫi▫o ṫumĥ sukʰ paavhu kiraṫ na méti▫aa jaa▫ee. ||3|| The more you dig, the more peace you shall find. Your past actions cannot be erased. ||3|| ਪ੍ਰਣਵਤਿ ਨਾਨਕੁ ਦਾਸਨਿ ਦਾਸਾ ਦਇਆ ਕਰਹੁ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥੪॥੧॥੯॥ प्रणवति नानकु दासनि दासा दइआ करहु दइआला ॥४॥१॥९॥ Paraṇvaṫ Naanak ḋaasan ḋaasaa ḋa▫i▫aa karahu ḋa▫i▫aalaa. ||4||1||9|| Prays Nanak, the slave of Your slaves: O Merciful Lord, have mercy on me. ||4||1||9|| ਬਗੁਲੇ ਤੇ ਫੁਨਿ ਹੰਸੁਲਾ ਹੋਵੈ ਜੇ ਤੂ ਕਰਹਿ ਦਇਆਲਾ ॥ बगुले ते फुनि हंसुला होवै जे तू करहि दइआला ॥ Bagulé ṫé fun hansulaa hovæ jé ṫoo karahi ḋa▫i▫aalaa. The crane is again transformed into a swan, if You so will, O Merciful Lord.
