ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਮਿਲੈ ਮੁਰਾਰਿ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त मिलै मुरारि ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa milæ muraar. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one meets the Lord. ਘਰੁ ੨ ॥ घरु २ ॥ Gʰar 2. Second House: ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਉਤਰੈ ਪਾਰਿ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त उतरै पारि ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa uṫræ paar. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one is carried across to the other side. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਬੈਕੁੰਠ ਤਰੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त बैकुंठ तरै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa bækuntʰ ṫaræ. By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one swims across to heaven. ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ सति सति सति सति सति गुरदेव ॥ Saṫ saṫ saṫ saṫ saṫ gurḋév. True, True, True True, True is the Divine Guru. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜੀਵਤ ਮਰੈ ॥੧॥ जउ गुरदेउ त जीवत मरै ॥१॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa jeevaṫ maræ. ||1|| By the Grace of the Divine Guru, one remains dead while still alive. ||1|| ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਝੂਠੁ ਆਨ ਸਭ ਸੇਵ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ झूठु झूठु झूठु झूठु आन सभ सेव ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jʰootʰ jʰootʰ jʰootʰ jʰootʰ aan sabʰ sév. ||1|| rahaa▫o. False, false, false, false are all other services. ||1||Pause|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਨਾਮੁ ਦ੍ਰਿੜਾਵੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त नामु द्रिड़ावै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa naam ḋariṛ▫aavæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the Naam, the Name of the Lord, is implanted within. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨ ਦਹ ਦਿਸ ਧਾਵੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ न दह दिस धावै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o na ḋah ḋis ḋʰaavæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one does not wander in the ten directions. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਪੰਚ ਤੇ ਦੂਰਿ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ पंच ते दूरि ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o panch ṫé ḋoor. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the five demons are kept far away. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨ ਮਰਿਬੋ ਝੂਰਿ ॥੨॥ जउ गुरदेउ न मरिबो झूरि ॥२॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o na maribo jʰoor. ||2|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one does not die regretting. ||2|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਨੀ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त अमृत बानी ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa amriṫ baanee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is blessed with the Ambrosial Bani of the Word. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅਕਥ ਕਹਾਨੀ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त अकथ कहानी ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa akaṫʰ kahaanee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one speaks the Unspoken Speech. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਦੇਹ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त अमृत देह ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa amriṫ ḋéh. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s body becomes like ambrosial nectar. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪਿ ਲੇਹਿ ॥੩॥ जउ गुरदेउ नामु जपि लेहि ॥३॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o naam jap léhi. ||3|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one utters and chants the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ||3|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਭਵਨ ਤ੍ਰੈ ਸੂਝੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ भवन त्रै सूझै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o bʰavan ṫaræ soojʰæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one sees the three worlds. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਊਚ ਪਦ ਬੂਝੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ ऊच पद बूझै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ooch paḋ boojʰæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one understands the state of supreme dignity. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਸੀਸੁ ਅਕਾਸਿ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त सीसु अकासि ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa sees akaas. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s head is in the Akashic ethers. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਪਰ ਨਿੰਦਾ ਤਿਆਗੀ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ पर निंदा तिआगी ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o par ninḋaa ṫi▫aagee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one forsakes the slander of others. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਦਾ ਬੈਰਾਗੀ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ सदा बैरागी ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o saḋaa bæraagee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one remains detached forever. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਦਾ ਸਾਬਾਸਿ ॥੪॥ जउ गुरदेउ सदा साबासि ॥४॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o saḋaa saabaas. ||4|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is always congratulated everywhere. ||4|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਬੁਰਾ ਭਲਾ ਏਕ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ बुरा भला एक ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o buraa bʰalaa ék. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one looks upon good and bad as the same. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਲਿਲਾਟਹਿ ਲੇਖ ॥੫॥ जउ गुरदेउ लिलाटहि लेख ॥५॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o lilaatėh lékʰ. ||5|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one has good destiny written on his forehead. ||5|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਕੰਧੁ ਨਹੀ ਹਿਰੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ कंधु नही हिरै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o kanḋʰ nahee hiræ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the wall of the body is not eroded. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਦੇਹੁਰਾ ਫਿਰੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ देहुरा फिरै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ḋéhuraa firæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, the temple turns itself towards the mortal. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਛਾਪਰਿ ਛਾਈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त छापरि छाई ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa chʰaapar chʰaa▫ee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s home is constructed. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਿਹਜ ਨਿਕਸਾਈ ॥੬॥ जउ गुरदेउ सिहज निकसाई ॥६॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o sihaj niksaa▫ee. ||6|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s bed is lifted up out of the water. ||6|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਅਠਸਠਿ ਨਾਇਆ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त अठसठि नाइआ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa atʰsatʰ naa▫i▫aa. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one has bathed at the sixty-eight sacred shrines of pilgrimage. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤਨਿ ਚਕ੍ਰ ਲਗਾਇਆ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ तनि चक्र लगाइआ ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫan chakar lagaa▫i▫aa. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one’s body is stamped with the sacred mark of Vishnu. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਦੁਆਦਸ ਸੇਵਾ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त दुआदस सेवा ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa ḋu▫aaḋas sévaa. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one has performed the twelve devotional services. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਸਭੈ ਬਿਖੁ ਮੇਵਾ ॥੭॥ जउ गुरदेउ सभै बिखु मेवा ॥७॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o sabʰæ bikʰ mévaa. ||7|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, all poison is transformed into fruit. ||7|| ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਸੰਸਾ ਟੂਟੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त संसा टूटै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa sansaa tootæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, skepticism is shattered. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜਮ ਤੇ ਛੂਟੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त जम ते छूटै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa jam ṫé chʰootæ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one escapes from the Messenger of Death. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਭਉਜਲ ਤਰੈ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ त भउजल तरै ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa bʰa▫ojal ṫaræ. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one crosses over the terrifying world-ocean. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਅਠਾਰਹ ਭਾਰ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ अठारह भार ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o atʰaarah bʰaar. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, it is as if one has made an offering of the eighteen loads of vegetation. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਅਠਦਸ ਬਿਉਹਾਰ ॥ जउ गुरदेउ अठदस बिउहार ॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o atʰ▫ḋas bi▫uhaar. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one understands the rituals of the eighteen Puranas. ਜਉ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਤ ਜਨਮਿ ਨ ਮਰੈ ॥੮॥ जउ गुरदेउ त जनमि न मरै ॥८॥ Ja▫o gurḋé▫o ṫa janam na maræ. ||8|| When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one is not subject to the cycle of reincarnation. ||8|| ਬਿਨੁ ਗੁਰਦੇਉ ਅਵਰ ਨਹੀ ਜਾਈ ॥ बिनु गुरदेउ अवर नही जाई ॥ Bin gurḋé▫o avar nahee jaa▫ee. When the Divine Guru grants His Grace, one needs no other place of rest. ਨਾਮਦੇਉ ਗੁਰ ਕੀ ਸਰਣਾਈ ॥੯॥੧॥੨॥੧੧॥ नामदेउ गुर की सरणाई ॥९॥१॥२॥११॥ Naamḋé▫o gur kee sarṇaa▫ee. ||9||1||2||11|| Namdev has entered the Sanctuary of the Guru. ||9||1||2||11||
