ਕਰਣ ਕਾਰਣ ਸਮਰਥੁ ਗੁਰੁ ਮੇਰਾ ॥ करण कारण समरथु गुरु मेरा ॥ Karaṇ kaaraṇ samraṫʰ gur méraa. My Guru is the All-powerful Lord, the Creator, the Cause of all causes. ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ भैरउ महला ५ ॥ Bʰæro mėhlaa 5. Bhairao, Fifth Mehl: ਜੀਅ ਪ੍ਰਾਣ ਸੁਖਦਾਤਾ ਨੇਰਾ ॥ जीअ प्राण सुखदाता नेरा ॥ Jee▫a paraaṇ sukʰ▫ḋaaṫa néraa. He is the Soul, the Breath of Life, the Giver of Peace, always near. ਭੈ ਭੰਜਨ ਅਬਿਨਾਸੀ ਰਾਇ ॥ भै भंजन अबिनासी राइ ॥ Bʰæ bʰanjan abʰinaasee raa▫é. He is the Destroyer of fear, the Eternal, Unchanging, Sovereign Lord King. ਬਲਿ ਬਲਿ ਜਾਈ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਚਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ बलि बलि जाई सतिगुर चरणा ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Bal bal jaa▫ee saṫgur charṇaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. I am a sacrifice, a sacrifice to the Feet of the True Guru. ||1||Pause|| ਜਤ ਕਤ ਪੇਖਉ ਤੇਰੀ ਸਰਣਾ ॥ जत कत पेखउ तेरी सरणा ॥ Jaṫ kaṫ pékʰa▫o ṫéree sarṇaa. Wherever I look, is the Protection of Your Sanctuary. ਦਰਸਨਿ ਦੇਖਿਐ ਸਭੁ ਦੁਖੁ ਜਾਇ ॥੧॥ दरसनि देखिऐ सभु दुखु जाइ ॥१॥ Ḋarsan ḋékʰi▫æ sabʰ ḋukʰ jaa▫é. ||1|| Gazing upon the Blessed Vision of His Darshan, all fear is dispelled. ||1|| ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਮ ਮਿਲੇ ਗੁਰਦੇਵ ॥ पूरन काम मिले गुरदेव ॥ Pooran kaam milé gurḋév. My tasks are perfectly accomplished, meeting the Divine Guru. ਸਭਿ ਫਲਦਾਤਾ ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੇਵ ॥ सभि फलदाता निरमल सेव ॥ Sabʰ falḋaaṫaa nirmal sév. He is the Giver of all rewards. Serving Him, I am immaculate. ਕਰੁ ਗਹਿ ਲੀਨੇ ਅਪੁਨੇ ਦਾਸ ॥ करु गहि लीने अपुने दास ॥ Kar gėh leené apuné ḋaas. He reaches out with His Hand to His slaves. ਰਾਮ ਨਾਮੁ ਰਿਦ ਦੀਓ ਨਿਵਾਸ ॥੨॥ राम नामु रिद दीओ निवास ॥२॥ Raam naam riḋ ḋee▫o nivaas. ||2|| The Name of the Lord abides in their hearts. ||2|| ਸਦਾ ਅਨੰਦੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਕਿਛੁ ਸੋਗੁ ॥ सदा अनंदु नाही किछु सोगु ॥ Saḋaa anand naahee kichʰ sog. They are forever in bliss, and do not suffer at all. ਦੂਖੁ ਦਰਦੁ ਨਹ ਬਿਆਪੈ ਰੋਗੁ ॥ दूखु दरदु नह बिआपै रोगु ॥ Ḋookʰ ḋaraḋ nah bi▫aapæ rog. No pain, sorrow or disease afflicts them. ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਤੇਰਾ ਤੂ ਕਰਣੈਹਾਰੁ ॥ सभु किछु तेरा तू करणैहारु ॥ Sabʰ kichʰ ṫéraa ṫoo karṇæhaar. Everything is Yours, O Creator Lord. ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਗੁਰ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰ ॥੩॥ पारब्रहम गुर अगम अपार ॥३॥ Paarbarahm gur agam apaar. ||3|| The Guru is the Supreme Lord God, the Inaccessible and Infinite. ||3|| ਨਿਰਮਲ ਸੋਭਾ ਅਚਰਜ ਬਾਣੀ ॥ निरमल सोभा अचरज बाणी ॥ Nirmal sobʰaa achraj baṇee. His Glorious Grandeur is immaculate, and the Bani of His Word is wonderful! ਪਾਰਬ੍ਰਹਮ ਪੂਰਨ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣੀ ॥ पारब्रहम पूरन मनि भाणी ॥ Paarbarahm pooran man bʰaaṇee. The Perfect Supreme Lord God is pleasing to my mind. ਜਲਿ ਥਲਿ ਮਹੀਅਲਿ ਰਵਿਆ ਸੋਇ ॥ जलि थलि महीअलि रविआ सोइ ॥ Jal ṫʰal mahee▫al ravi▫aa so▫é. He is permeating the waters, the lands and the skies. ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਰਾਤਾ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਚਰਣੇ ॥ मनु तनु राता राम रंगि चरणे ॥ Man ṫan raaṫaa raam rang charṇé. My mind and body are imbued with the Love of the Lord’s Feet. ਨਾਨਕ ਸਭੁ ਕਿਛੁ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਤੇ ਹੋਇ ॥੪॥੩੪॥੪੭॥ नानक सभु किछु प्रभ ते होइ ॥४॥३४॥४७॥ Naanak sabʰ kichʰ parabʰ ṫé ho▫é. ||4||34||47|| O Nanak! Everything comes from God. ||4||34||47||
