ਭੈਰਉ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ भैरउ महला ५ ॥ Bẖairo mėhlā 5. Bhairao, Fifth Mehl: ਰੋਵਨਹਾਰੀ ਰੋਜੁ ਬਨਾਇਆ ॥ रोवनहारी रोजु बनाइआ ॥ Rovanhārī roj banā▫i▫ā. The whiner whines every day. ਬਲਨ ਬਰਤਨ ਕਉ ਸਨਬੰਧੁ ਚਿਤਿ ਆਇਆ ॥ बलन बरतन कउ सनबंधु चिति आइआ ॥ Balan barṯan ka▫o san▫banḏẖ cẖiṯ ā▫i▫ā. His attachment to his household and entanglements cloud his mind. ਬੂਝਿ ਬੈਰਾਗੁ ਕਰੇ ਜੇ ਕੋਇ ॥ बूझि बैरागु करे जे कोइ ॥ Būjẖ bairāg kare je ko▫e. If someone becomes detached through understanding, ਜਨਮ ਮਰਣ ਫਿਰਿ ਸੋਗੁ ਨ ਹੋਇ ॥੧॥ जनम मरण फिरि सोगु न होइ ॥१॥ Janam maraṇ fir sog na ho▫e. ||1|| he will not have to suffer in birth and death again. ||1|| ਬਿਖਿਆ ਕਾ ਸਭੁ ਧੰਧੁ ਪਸਾਰੁ ॥ बिखिआ का सभु धंधु पसारु ॥ Bikẖi▫ā kā sabẖ ḏẖanḏẖ pasār. All of his conflicts are extensions of his corruption. ਵਿਰਲੈ ਕੀਨੋ ਨਾਮ ਅਧਾਰੁ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ विरलै कीनो नाम अधारु ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ virlai kīno nām aḏẖār. ||1|| rahā▫o. How rare is that person who takes the Naam as his Support. ||1||Pause|| ਤ੍ਰਿਬਿਧਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਰਹੀ ਬਿਆਪਿ ॥ त्रिबिधि माइआ रही बिआपि ॥ Ŧaribaḏẖ mā▫i▫ā rahī bi▫āp. The three-phased Maya infects all. ਜੋ ਲਪਟਾਨੋ ਤਿਸੁ ਦੂਖ ਸੰਤਾਪ ॥ जो लपटानो तिसु दूख संताप ॥ Jo laptāno ṯis ḏūkẖ sanṯāp. Whoever clings to it suffers pain and sorrow. ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਹੀ ਬਿਨੁ ਨਾਮ ਧਿਆਏ ॥ सुखु नाही बिनु नाम धिआए ॥ Sukẖ nāhī bin nām ḏẖi▫ā▫e. There is no peace without meditating on the Naam, the Name of the Lord. ਨਾਮ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਬਡਭਾਗੀ ਪਾਏ ॥੨॥ नाम निधानु बडभागी पाए ॥२॥ Nām niḏẖān badbẖāgī pā▫e. ||2|| By great good fortune, the treasure of the Naam is received. ||2|| ਸ੍ਵਾਂਗੀ ਸਿਉ ਜੋ ਮਨੁ ਰੀਝਾਵੈ ॥ स्वांगी सिउ जो मनु रीझावै ॥ Savāʼngī si▫o jo man rījẖāvai. One who loves the actor in his mind, ਸ੍ਵਾਗਿ ਉਤਾਰਿਐ ਫਿਰਿ ਪਛੁਤਾਵੈ ॥ स्वागि उतारिऐ फिरि पछुतावै ॥ Savāg uṯāri▫ai fir pacẖẖuṯāvai. later regrets it when the actor takes off his costume. ਮੇਘ ਕੀ ਛਾਇਆ ਜੈਸੇ ਬਰਤਨਹਾਰ ॥ मेघ की छाइआ जैसे बरतनहार ॥ Megẖ kī cẖẖā▫i▫ā jaise barṯanhār. The shade from a cloud is transitory, ਤੈਸੋ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਮੋਹ ਬਿਕਾਰ ॥੩॥ तैसो परपंचु मोह बिकार ॥३॥ Ŧaiso parpancẖ moh bikār. ||3|| like the worldly paraphernalia of attachment and corruption. ||3|| ਏਕ ਵਸਤੁ ਜੇ ਪਾਵੈ ਕੋਇ ॥ एक वसतु जे पावै कोइ ॥ Ėk vasaṯ je pāvai ko▫e. If someone is blessed with the singular substance, ਪੂਰਨ ਕਾਜੁ ਤਾਹੀ ਕਾ ਹੋਇ ॥ पूरन काजु ताही का होइ ॥ Pūran kāj ṯāhī kā ho▫e. then all of his tasks are accomplished to perfection. ਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ਜਿਨਿ ਪਾਇਆ ਨਾਮੁ ॥ गुर प्रसादि जिनि पाइआ नामु ॥ Gur parsāḏ jin pā▫i▫ā nām. One who obtains the Naam, by Guru's Grace- ਨਾਨਕ ਆਇਆ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਨੁ ॥੪॥੨੦॥੩੩॥ नानक आइआ सो परवानु ॥४॥२०॥३३॥ Nānak ā▫i▫ā so parvān. ||4||20||33|| O Nanak, his coming into the world is certified and approved. ||4||20||33||
