ਜਿਨਿ ਗੜ ਕੋਟ ਕੀਏ ਕੰਚਨ ਕੇ ਛੋਡਿ ਗਇਆ ਸੋ ਰਾਵਨੁ ॥੧॥ जिनि गड़ कोट कीए कंचन के छोडि गइआ सो रावनु ॥१॥ Jin gaṛ kot kee▫é kanchan ké chʰod ga▫i▫aa so raavan. ||1|| Raawan made castles and fortresses of gold, but he had to abandon them when he left. ||1|| ਕਾਹੇ ਕੀਜਤੁ ਹੈ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਵਨੁ ॥ काहे कीजतु है मनि भावनु ॥ Kaahé keejaṫ hæ man bʰaavan. Why do you act only to please your mind? ਜਬ ਜਮੁ ਆਇ ਕੇਸ ਤੇ ਪਕਰੈ ਤਹ ਹਰਿ ਕੋ ਨਾਮੁ ਛਡਾਵਨ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जब जमु आइ केस ते पकरै तह हरि को नामु छडावन ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jab jam aa▫é kés ṫé pakræ ṫah har ko naam chʰadaavan. ||1|| rahaa▫o. When Death comes and grabs you by the hair, then only the Name of the Lord will save you. ||1||Pause|| ਕਾਲੁ ਅਕਾਲੁ ਖਸਮ ਕਾ ਕੀਨੑਾ ਇਹੁ ਪਰਪੰਚੁ ਬਧਾਵਨੁ ॥ कालु अकालु खसम का कीन्हा इहु परपंचु बधावनु ॥ Kaal akaal kʰasam kaa keenĥaa ih parpanch baḋʰaavan. Death, and deathlessness are the creations of our Lord and Master; this show, this expanse, is only an entanglement. ਕਹਿ ਕਬੀਰ ਤੇ ਅੰਤੇ ਮੁਕਤੇ ਜਿਨੑ ਹਿਰਦੈ ਰਾਮ ਰਸਾਇਨੁ ॥੨॥੬॥ कहि कबीर ते अंते मुकते जिन्ह हिरदै राम रसाइनु ॥२॥६॥ Kahi Kabeer ṫé anṫé mukṫé jinĥ hirḋæ raam rasaa▫in. ||2||6|| Says Kabir, those who have the sublime essence of the Lord in their hearts - in the end, they are liberated. ||2||6||
