ਪਉੜੀ ॥ पउड़ी ॥ Pa▫oṛī. Pauree: ਮਨਮੁਖ ਕਾਲੁ ਵਿਆਪਦਾ ਮੋਹਿ ਮਾਇਆ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ मनमुख कालु विआपदा मोहि माइआ लागे ॥ Manmukẖ kāl vi▫āpḏā mohi mā▫i▫ā lāge. The self-willed manmukhs are afflicted by death; they cling to Maya in emotional attachment. ਫਿਰਿ ਵੇਲਾ ਹਥਿ ਨ ਆਵਈ ਜਮ ਕਾ ਡੰਡੁ ਲਾਗੇ ॥ फिरि वेला हथि न आवई जम का डंडु लागे ॥ Fir velā hath na āvī jam kā dand lāge. This opportunity shall not come into their hands again; they are beaten by the Messenger of Death with his stick. ਖਿਨ ਮਹਿ ਮਾਰਿ ਪਛਾੜਸੀ ਭਾਇ ਦੂਜੈ ਠਾਗੇ ॥ खिन महि मारि पछाड़सी भाइ दूजै ठागे ॥ Kẖin mėh mār pacẖẖāṛsī bẖā▫e ḏūjai ṯẖāge. In an instant, they are thrown to the ground and killed; in the love of duality, they are deluded. ਤਿਨ ਜਮ ਡੰਡੁ ਨ ਲਗਈ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਲਿਵ ਜਾਗੇ ॥ तिन जम डंडु न लगई जो हरि लिव जागे ॥ Ŧin jam dand na lag▫ī jo har liv jāge. But Death's stick does not even strike those who remain awake and aware in the Love of the Lord. ਸਭ ਤੇਰੀ ਤੁਧੁ ਛਡਾਵਣੀ ਸਭ ਤੁਧੈ ਲਾਗੇ ॥੧੨॥ सभ तेरी तुधु छडावणी सभ तुधै लागे ॥१२॥ Sabẖ ṯerī ṯuḏẖ cẖẖadāvaṇī sabẖ ṯuḏẖai lāge. ||12|| All are Yours, and cling to You; only You can save them. ||12||
