ੴ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਪ੍ਰਸਾਦਿ ॥ ੴ सतिगुर प्रसादि ॥ Ik▫oaʼnkār saṯgur parsāḏ. One Universal Creator God. By The Grace Of The True Guru: ਮਾਰੂ ਸੋਲਹੇ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ मारू सोलहे महला ५ Mārū solhe mėhlā 5 Maaroo, Solahas, Fifth Mehl: ਬਾਣੀ ਤੇਰੀ ਸ੍ਰਵਣਿ ਸੁਣੀਐ ॥ बाणी तेरी स्रवणि सुणीऐ ॥ Baṇī ṯerī sarvaṇ suṇī▫ai. What the ears hear is the Word of Your Bani. ਦੂਜੀ ਅਵਰ ਨ ਜਾਪਸਿ ਕਾਈ ਸਗਲ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧॥ दूजी अवर न जापसि काई सगल तुमारी धारणा ॥१॥ Ḏūjī avar na jāpas kā▫ī sagal ṯumārī ḏẖārṇā. ||1|| There is nothing else to be seen at all. You give support to all. ||1|| ਜੋ ਦੀਸੈ ਸੋ ਏਕੋ ਤੂਹੈ ॥ जो दीसै सो एको तूहै ॥ Jo ḏīsai so eko ṯūhai. Whatever is seen is You, O One Lord. ਆਪਿ ਚਿਤਾਰੇ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ॥ आपि चितारे अपणा कीआ ॥ Āp cẖiṯāre apṇā kī▫ā. You Yourself are conscious of Your Creation. ਆਪੇ ਆਪਿ ਆਪਿ ਪ੍ਰਭੁ ਥੀਆ ॥ आपे आपि आपि प्रभु थीआ ॥ Āpe āp āp parabẖ thī▫ā. You Yourself established Yourself, O God. ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਇ ਰਚਿਓਨੁ ਪਸਾਰਾ ਆਪੇ ਘਟਿ ਘਟਿ ਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੨॥ आपि उपाइ रचिओनु पसारा आपे घटि घटि सारणा ॥२॥ Āp upā▫e racẖi▫on pasārā āpe gẖat gẖat sārṇā. ||2|| Creating Yourself, You formed the expanse of the Universe; You Yourself cherish and sustain each and every heart. ||2|| ਇਕਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਵਡ ਦਰਵਾਰੀ ॥ इकि उपाए वड दरवारी ॥ Ik upā▫e vad ḏarvārī. You created some to hold great and royal courts. ਇਕਿ ਉਦਾਸੀ ਇਕਿ ਘਰ ਬਾਰੀ ॥ इकि उदासी इकि घर बारी ॥ Ik uḏāsī ik gẖar bārī. Some turn away from the world in renunciation, and some maintain their households. ਇਕਿ ਭੂਖੇ ਇਕਿ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤਿ ਅਘਾਏ ਸਭਸੈ ਤੇਰਾ ਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੩॥ इकि भूखे इकि त्रिपति अघाए सभसै तेरा पारणा ॥३॥ Ik bẖūkẖe ik ṯaripaṯ agẖā▫e sabẖsai ṯerā pārṇā. ||3|| Some are hungry and some are satisfied and satiated, but all lean on Your Support. ||3|| ਆਪੇ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਤਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥ आपे सति सति सति साचा ॥ Āpe saṯ saṯ saṯ sācẖā. The True Lord Himself is True, True, True. ਓਤਿ ਪੋਤਿ ਭਗਤਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥ ओति पोति भगतन संगि राचा ॥ Oṯ poṯ bẖagṯan sang rācẖā. He is woven into the essence of His devotees, through and through. ਆਪੇ ਗੁਪਤੁ ਆਪੇ ਹੈ ਪਰਗਟੁ ਅਪਣਾ ਆਪੁ ਪਸਾਰਣਾ ॥੪॥ आपे गुपतु आपे है परगटु अपणा आपु पसारणा ॥४॥ Āpe gupaṯ āpe hai pargat apṇā āp pasārṇā. ||4|| He Himself is hidden, and He Himself is revealed. He Himself spreads Himself out. ||4|| ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਸਦ ਹੋਵਣਹਾਰਾ ॥ सदा सदा सद होवणहारा ॥ Saḏā saḏā saḏ hovaṇhārā. Forever, forever and ever, He shall always exist. ਊਚਾ ਅਗਮੁ ਅਥਾਹੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ ऊचा अगमु अथाहु अपारा ॥ Ūcẖā agam athāhu apārā. He is lofty, inaccessible, unfathomable and infinite. ਮੁਖਿ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ਸਚੇ ਸਾਹਾ ॥ मुखि सालाही सचे साहा ॥ Mukẖ sālāhī sacẖe sāhā. With my mouth, I praise my True Lord King. ਊਣੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰੇ ਭਰਿ ਊਣੇ ਏਹਿ ਚਲਤ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਕੇ ਕਾਰਣਾ ॥੫॥ ऊणे भरे भरे भरि ऊणे एहि चलत सुआमी के कारणा ॥५॥ Ūṇe bẖare bẖare bẖar ūṇe ehi cẖalaṯ su▫āmī ke kārṇā. ||5|| He fills the empty, and empties out the filled; such are the plays and dramas of my Lord and Master. ||5|| ਨੈਣੀ ਪੇਖਾ ਅਗਮ ਅਥਾਹਾ ॥ नैणी पेखा अगम अथाहा ॥ Naiṇī pekẖā agam athāhā. With my eyes, I behold the inaccessible and unfathomable Lord. ਕਰਨੀ ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਮਨੁ ਤਨੁ ਹਰਿਆ ਮੇਰੇ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਸਗਲ ਉਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੬॥ करनी सुणि सुणि मनु तनु हरिआ मेरे साहिब सगल उधारणा ॥६॥ Karnī suṇ suṇ man ṯan hari▫ā mere sāhib sagal uḏẖāraṇā. ||6|| Listening, listening with my ears, my mind and body are rejuvenated; my Lord and Master saves all. ||6|| ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਵੇਖਹਿ ਕੀਤਾ ਅਪਣਾ ॥ करि करि वेखहि कीता अपणा ॥ Kar kar vekẖėh kīṯā apṇā. He created the creation, and gazes upon what He has created. ਜੀਅ ਜੰਤ ਸੋਈ ਹੈ ਜਪਣਾ ॥ जीअ जंत सोई है जपणा ॥ Jī▫a janṯ so▫ī hai japṇā. All beings and creatures meditate on Him. ਅਪਣੀ ਕੁਦਰਤਿ ਆਪੇ ਜਾਣੈ ਨਦਰੀ ਨਦਰਿ ਨਿਹਾਲਣਾ ॥੭॥ अपणी कुदरति आपे जाणै नदरी नदरि निहालणा ॥७॥ Apṇī kuḏraṯ āpe jāṇai naḏrī naḏar nihālaṇā. ||7|| He Himself knows His creative power; He blesses with His Glance of Grace. ||7|| ਸੰਤ ਸਭਾ ਜਹ ਬੈਸਹਿ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪਾਸੇ ॥ संत सभा जह बैसहि प्रभ पासे ॥ Sanṯ sabẖā jah baisėh parabẖ pāse. Where the Saints gather together and sit, God dwells close at hand. ਅਨੰਦ ਮੰਗਲ ਹਰਿ ਚਲਤ ਤਮਾਸੇ ॥ अनंद मंगल हरि चलत तमासे ॥ Anand mangal har cẖalaṯ ṯamāse. They abide in bliss and joy, beholding the Lord's wondrous play. ਗੁਣ ਗਾਵਹਿ ਅਨਹਦ ਧੁਨਿ ਬਾਣੀ ਤਹ ਨਾਨਕ ਦਾਸੁ ਚਿਤਾਰਣਾ ॥੮॥ गुण गावहि अनहद धुनि बाणी तह नानक दासु चितारणा ॥८॥ Guṇ gāvahi anhaḏ ḏẖun baṇī ṯah Nānak ḏās cẖiṯāraṇā. ||8|| They sing the Glories of the Lord, and the unstruck sound current of His Bani; O Nanak, His slaves remain conscious of Him. ||8|| ਆਵਣੁ ਜਾਣਾ ਸਭੁ ਚਲਤੁ ਤੁਮਾਰਾ ॥ आवणु जाणा सभु चलतु तुमारा ॥ Āvaṇ jāṇā sabẖ cẖalaṯ ṯumārā. Coming and going is all Your wondrous play. ਕਰਿ ਕਰਿ ਦੇਖੈ ਖੇਲੁ ਅਪਾਰਾ ॥ करि करि देखै खेलु अपारा ॥ Kar kar ḏekẖai kẖel apārā. Creating the Creation, You gaze upon Your infinite play. ਆਪਿ ਉਪਾਏ ਉਪਾਵਣਹਾਰਾ ਅਪਣਾ ਕੀਆ ਪਾਲਣਾ ॥੯॥ आपि उपाए उपावणहारा अपणा कीआ पालणा ॥९॥ Āp upā▫e upāvaṇhārā apṇā kī▫ā pālṇā. ||9|| Creating the Creation, You Yourself cherish and nurture it. ||9|| ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਜੀਵਾ ਸੋਇ ਤੁਮਾਰੀ ॥ सुणि सुणि जीवा सोइ तुमारी ॥ Suṇ suṇ jīvā so▫e ṯumārī. Listening, listening to Your Glory, I live. ਸਦਾ ਸਦਾ ਜਾਈ ਬਲਿਹਾਰੀ ॥ सदा सदा जाई बलिहारी ॥ Saḏā saḏā jā▫ī balihārī. Forever and ever, I am a sacrifice to You. ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਸਿਮਰਉ ਦਿਨੁ ਰਾਤੀ ਮੇਰੇ ਸੁਆਮੀ ਅਗਮ ਅਪਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੦॥ दुइ कर जोड़ि सिमरउ दिनु राती मेरे सुआमी अगम अपारणा ॥१०॥ Ḏu▫e kar joṛ simra▫o ḏin rāṯī mere su▫āmī agam apāraṇā. ||10|| With my palms pressed together, I meditate in remembrance on You, day and night, O my inaccessible, infinite Lord and Master. ||10|| ਤੁਧੁ ਬਿਨੁ ਦੂਜੇ ਕਿਸੁ ਸਾਲਾਹੀ ॥ तुधु बिनु दूजे किसु सालाही ॥ Ŧuḏẖ bin ḏūje kis sālāhī. Other than You, who else should I praise? ਏਕੋ ਏਕੁ ਜਪੀ ਮਨ ਮਾਹੀ ॥ एको एकु जपी मन माही ॥ Ėko ek japī man māhī. I meditate on the One and Only Lord within my mind. ਹੁਕਮੁ ਬੂਝਿ ਜਨ ਭਏ ਨਿਹਾਲਾ ਇਹ ਭਗਤਾ ਕੀ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੧॥ हुकमु बूझि जन भए निहाला इह भगता की घालणा ॥११॥ Hukam būjẖ jan bẖa▫e nihālā ih bẖagṯā kī gẖālṇā. ||11|| Realizing the Hukam of Your Will, Your humble servants are enraptured; this is the achievement of Your devotees. ||11|| ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਜਪੀਐ ਮਨਿ ਸਾਚਾ ॥ गुर उपदेसि जपीऐ मनि साचा ॥ Gur upḏes japī▫ai man sācẖā. Following the Guru's Teachings, I meditate on the True Lord within my mind. ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਰਾਮ ਰੰਗਿ ਰਾਚਾ ॥ गुर उपदेसि राम रंगि राचा ॥ Gur upḏes rām rang rācẖā. Following the Guru's Teachings, I am immersed in the Lord's Love. ਗੁਰ ਉਪਦੇਸਿ ਤੁਟਹਿ ਸਭਿ ਬੰਧਨ ਇਹੁ ਭਰਮੁ ਮੋਹੁ ਪਰਜਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੨॥ गुर उपदेसि तुटहि सभि बंधन इहु भरमु मोहु परजालणा ॥१२॥ Gur upḏes ṯutėh sabẖ banḏẖan ih bẖaram moh parjālaṇā. ||12|| Following the Guru's Teachings, all bonds are broken, and this doubt and emotional attachment are burnt away. ||12|| ਜਹ ਰਾਖੈ ਸੋਈ ਸੁਖ ਥਾਨਾ ॥ जह राखै सोई सुख थाना ॥ Jah rākẖai so▫ī sukẖ thānā. Wherever He keeps me, is my place of rest. ਸਹਜੇ ਹੋਇ ਸੋਈ ਭਲ ਮਾਨਾ ॥ सहजे होइ सोई भल माना ॥ Sėhje ho▫e so▫ī bẖal mānā. Whatever naturally happens, I accept that as good. ਬਿਨਸੇ ਬੈਰ ਨਾਹੀ ਕੋ ਬੈਰੀ ਸਭੁ ਏਕੋ ਹੈ ਭਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੩॥ बिनसे बैर नाही को बैरी सभु एको है भालणा ॥१३॥ Binse bair nāhī ko bairī sabẖ eko hai bẖālṇā. ||13|| Hatred is gone - I have no hatred at all; I see the One Lord in all. ||13|| ਡਰ ਚੂਕੇ ਬਿਨਸੇ ਅੰਧਿਆਰੇ ॥ डर चूके बिनसे अंधिआरे ॥ Dar cẖūke binse anḏẖi▫āre. Fear has been removed, and darkness has been dispelled. ਆਪੁ ਛੋਡਿ ਪਏ ਸਰਣਾਈ ਜਿਸ ਕਾ ਸਾ ਤਿਸੁ ਘਾਲਣਾ ॥੧੪॥ आपु छोडि पए सरणाई जिस का सा तिसु घालणा ॥१४॥ Āp cẖẖod pa▫e sarṇā▫ī jis kā sā ṯis gẖālṇā. ||14|| Forsaking self-conceit, I have entered His Sanctuary, and I work for Him. ||14|| ਐਸਾ ਕੋ ਵਡਭਾਗੀ ਆਇਆ ॥ ऐसा को वडभागी आइआ ॥ Aisā ko vadbẖāgī ā▫i▫ā. Rare are those few, very blessed people, who come into the world, ਪ੍ਰਗਟ ਭਏ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਪੁਰਖ ਨਿਰਾਰੇ ॥ प्रगट भए प्रभ पुरख निरारे ॥ Pargat bẖa▫e parabẖ purakẖ nirāre. The all-powerful, primal, detached Lord God has been revealed. ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਜਿਨਿ ਖਸਮੁ ਧਿਆਇਆ ॥ आठ पहर जिनि खसमु धिआइआ ॥ Āṯẖ pahar jin kẖasam ḏẖi▫ā▫i▫ā. and meditate on their Lord and Master, twenty-four hours a day. ਤਿਸੁ ਜਨ ਕੈ ਸੰਗਿ ਤਰੈ ਸਭੁ ਕੋਈ ਸੋ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਸਧਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੫॥ तिसु जन कै संगि तरै सभु कोई सो परवार सधारणा ॥१५॥ Ŧis jan kai sang ṯarai sabẖ ko▫ī so parvār saḏẖāraṇā. ||15|| Associating with such humble people, all are saved, and their families are saved as well. ||15|| ਇਹ ਬਖਸੀਸ ਖਸਮ ਤੇ ਪਾਵਾ ॥ इह बखसीस खसम ते पावा ॥ Ih bakẖsīs kẖasam ṯe pāvā. This is the blessing which I have received from my Lord and Master. ਆਠ ਪਹਰ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਧਿਆਵਾ ॥ आठ पहर कर जोड़ि धिआवा ॥ Āṯẖ pahar kar joṛ ḏẖi▫āvā. Twenty-four hours a day, with my palms pressed together, I meditate on Him. ਨਾਮੁ ਜਪੀ ਨਾਮਿ ਸਹਜਿ ਸਮਾਵਾ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਿਲੈ ਉਚਾਰਣਾ ॥੧੬॥੧॥੬॥ नामु जपी नामि सहजि समावा नामु नानक मिलै उचारणा ॥१६॥१॥६॥ Nām japī nām sahj samāvā nām Nānak milai ucẖāraṇā. ||16||1||6|| I chant the Naam, and through the Naam, I intuitively merge into the Lord; O Nanak, may I be blessed with the Naam, and ever repeat it. ||16||1||6||
