ਸਫਲ ਸੁ ਬਾਣੀ ਜਿਤੁ ਨਾਮੁ ਵਖਾਣੀ ॥ सफल सु बाणी जितु नामु वखाणी ॥ Safal so baṇī jiṯ nām vakẖāṇī. Blessed are those words, by which the Naam is chanted. ਮਾਝ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ माझ महला ५ ॥ Mājẖ mėhlā 5. Maajh, Fifth Mehl: ਗੁਰ ਪਰਸਾਦਿ ਕਿਨੈ ਵਿਰਲੈ ਜਾਣੀ ॥ गुर परसादि किनै विरलै जाणी ॥ Gur parsāḏ kinai virlai jāṇī. Rare are those who know this, by Guru's Grace. ਧੰਨੁ ਸੁ ਵੇਲਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਹਰਿ ਗਾਵਤ ਸੁਨਣਾ ਆਏ ਤੇ ਪਰਵਾਨਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ धंनु सु वेला जितु हरि गावत सुनणा आए ते परवाना जीउ ॥१॥ Ḏẖan so velā jiṯ har gāvaṯ sunṇā ā▫e ṯe parvānā jī▫o. ||1|| Blessed is that time when one sings and hears the Lord's Name. Blessed and approved is the coming of such a one. ||1|| ਸੇ ਨੇਤ੍ਰ ਪਰਵਾਣੁ ਜਿਨੀ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪੇਖਾ ॥ से नेत्र परवाणु जिनी दरसनु पेखा ॥ Se neṯar parvāṇ jinī ḏarsan pekẖā. Those eyes which behold the Blessed Vision of the Lord's Darshan are approved and accepted. ਸੇ ਕਰ ਭਲੇ ਜਿਨੀ ਹਰਿ ਜਸੁ ਲੇਖਾ ॥ से कर भले जिनी हरि जसु लेखा ॥ Se kar bẖale jinī har jas lekẖā. Those hands which write the Praises of the Lord are good. ਸੇ ਚਰਣ ਸੁਹਾਵੇ ਜੋ ਹਰਿ ਮਾਰਗਿ ਚਲੇ ਹਉ ਬਲਿ ਤਿਨ ਸੰਗਿ ਪਛਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੨॥ से चरण सुहावे जो हरि मारगि चले हउ बलि तिन संगि पछाणा जीउ ॥२॥ Se cẖaraṇ suhāve jo har mārag cẖale ha▫o bal ṯin sang pacẖẖāṇā jī▫o. ||2|| Those feet which walk in the Lord's Way are beautiful. I am a sacrifice to that Congregation in which the Lord is recognized. ||2|| ਸੁਣਿ ਸਾਜਨ ਮੇਰੇ ਮੀਤ ਪਿਆਰੇ ॥ सुणि साजन मेरे मीत पिआरे ॥ Suṇ sājan mere mīṯ pi▫āre. Listen, O my beloved friends and companions: ਸਾਧਸੰਗਿ ਖਿਨ ਮਾਹਿ ਉਧਾਰੇ ॥ साधसंगि खिन माहि उधारे ॥ Sāḏẖsang kẖin māhi uḏẖāre. in the Saadh Sangat, the Company of the Holy, you shall be saved in an instant. ਕਿਲਵਿਖ ਕਾਟਿ ਹੋਆ ਮਨੁ ਨਿਰਮਲੁ ਮਿਟਿ ਗਏ ਆਵਣ ਜਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੩॥ किलविख काटि होआ मनु निरमलु मिटि गए आवण जाणा जीउ ॥३॥ Kilvikẖ kāt ho▫ā man nirmal mit ga▫e āvaṇ jāṇā jī▫o. ||3|| Your sins will be cut out; your mind will be immaculate and pure. Your comings and goings shall cease. ||3|| ਦੁਇ ਕਰ ਜੋੜਿ ਇਕੁ ਬਿਨਉ ਕਰੀਜੈ ॥ दुइ कर जोड़ि इकु बिनउ करीजै ॥ Ḏu▫e kar joṛ ik bin▫o karījai. With my palms pressed together, I offer this prayer: ਕਰਿ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਡੁਬਦਾ ਪਥਰੁ ਲੀਜੈ ॥ करि किरपा डुबदा पथरु लीजै ॥ Kar kirpā dubḏā pathar lījai. please bless me with Your Mercy, and save this sinking stone. ਨਾਨਕ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਭਏ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਾ ਪ੍ਰਭ ਨਾਨਕ ਮਨਿ ਭਾਣਾ ਜੀਉ ॥੪॥੨੨॥੨੯॥ नानक कउ प्रभ भए क्रिपाला प्रभ नानक मनि भाणा जीउ ॥४॥२२॥२९॥ Nānak ka▫o parabẖ bẖa▫e kirpālā parabẖ Nānak man bẖāṇā jī▫o. ||4||22||29|| God has become merciful to Nanak; God is pleasing to Nanak's mind. ||4||22||29|| ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਬਾਣੀ ਹਰਿ ਹਰਿ ਤੇਰੀ ॥ अम्रित बाणी हरि हरि तेरी ॥ Amriṯ baṇī har har ṯerī. The Word of Your Bani, Lord, is Ambrosial Nectar. ਜਲਨਿ ਬੁਝੀ ਸੀਤਲੁ ਹੋਇ ਮਨੂਆ ਸਤਿਗੁਰ ਕਾ ਦਰਸਨੁ ਪਾਏ ਜੀਉ ॥੧॥ जलनि बुझी सीतलु होइ मनूआ सतिगुर का दरसनु पाए जीउ ॥१॥ Jalan bujẖī sīṯal ho▫e manū▫ā saṯgur kā ḏarsan pā▫e jī▫o. ||1|| The burning within me has been extinguished, and my mind has been cooled and soothed, by the Blessed Vision of the True Guru. ||1|| ਸੁਣਿ ਸੁਣਿ ਹੋਵੈ ਪਰਮ ਗਤਿ ਮੇਰੀ ॥ सुणि सुणि होवै परम गति मेरी ॥ Suṇ suṇ hovai param gaṯ merī. Hearing it again and again, I am elevated to the supreme heights.
