ਜੀਵਨਾ ਸਫਲ ਜੀਵਨ ਸੁਨਿ ਹਰਿ ਜਪਿ ਜਪਿ ਸਦ ਜੀਵਨਾ ॥੧॥ ਰਹਾਉ ॥ जीवना सफल जीवन सुनि हरि जपि जपि सद जीवना ॥१॥ रहाउ ॥ Jeevnaa safal jeevan sun har jap jap saḋ jeevnaa. ||1|| rahaa▫o. Fruitful is the life, the life of one who hears about the Lord, and chants and meditates on Him; he lives forever. ||1||Pause|| ਮਾਰੂ ਮਹਲਾ ੫ ॥ मारू महला ५ ॥ Maaroo mėhlaa 5. Maaroo, Fifth Mehl: ਪੀਵਨਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਮਨੁ ਆਘਾਵੈ ਨਾਮੁ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤ ਰਸੁ ਪੀਵਨਾ ॥੧॥ पीवना जितु मनु आघावै नामु अमृत रसु पीवना ॥१॥ Peevnaa jiṫ man aagʰaavæ naam amriṫ ras peevnaa. ||1|| The real drink is that which satisfies the mind; this drink is the sublime essence of the Ambrosial Naam. ||1|| ਖਾਵਨਾ ਜਿਤੁ ਭੂਖ ਨ ਲਾਗੈ ਸੰਤੋਖਿ ਸਦਾ ਤ੍ਰਿਪਤੀਵਨਾ ॥੨॥ खावना जितु भूख न लागै संतोखि सदा त्रिपतीवना ॥२॥ Kʰaavnaa jiṫ bʰookʰ na laagæ sanṫokʰ saḋaa ṫaripṫeevnaa. ||2|| The real food is that which will never leave you hungry again; it will leave you contented and satisfied forever. ||2|| ਭੋਗਨਾ ਮਨ ਮਧੇ ਹਰਿ ਰਸੁ ਸੰਤਸੰਗਤਿ ਮਹਿ ਲੀਵਨਾ ॥੪॥ भोगना मन मधे हरि रसु संतसंगति महि लीवना ॥४॥ Bʰognaa man maḋʰé har ras sanṫsangaṫ mėh leevnaa. ||4|| The real enjoyment within the mind is to be absorbed in the sublime essence of the Lord, in the Society of the Saints. ||4|| ਪੈਨਣਾ ਰਖੁ ਪਤਿ ਪਰਮੇਸੁਰ ਫਿਰਿ ਨਾਗੇ ਨਹੀ ਥੀਵਨਾ ॥੩॥ पैनणा रखु पति परमेसुर फिरि नागे नही थीवना ॥३॥ Pænṇaa rakʰ paṫ parmésur fir naagé nahee ṫʰeevnaa. ||3|| The real clothes are those which protect your honor before the Transcendent Lord, and do not leave you naked ever again. ||3|| ਬਿਨੁ ਤਾਗੇ ਬਿਨੁ ਸੂਈ ਆਨੀ ਮਨੁ ਹਰਿ ਭਗਤੀ ਸੰਗਿ ਸੀਵਨਾ ॥੫॥ बिनु तागे बिनु सूई आनी मनु हरि भगती संगि सीवना ॥५॥ Bin ṫaagé bin soo▫ee aanee man har bʰagṫee sang seevnaa. ||5|| Sew devotional worship to the Lord into the mind, without any needle or thread. ||5|| ਮਾਤਿਆ ਹਰਿ ਰਸ ਮਹਿ ਰਾਤੇ ਤਿਸੁ ਬਹੁੜਿ ਨ ਕਬਹੂ ਅਉਖੀਵਨਾ ॥੬॥ मातिआ हरि रस महि राते तिसु बहुड़ि न कबहू अउखीवना ॥६॥ Maaṫi▫aa har ras mėh raaṫé ṫis bahuṛ na kabhoo a▫ukʰeevanaa. ||6|| Imbued and intoxicated with the sublime essence of the Lord, this experience will never wear off again. ||6|| ਮਿਲਿਓ ਤਿਸੁ ਸਰਬ ਨਿਧਾਨਾ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਿ ਜਿਸੁ ਦੀਵਨਾ ॥੭॥ मिलिओ तिसु सरब निधाना प्रभि क्रिपालि जिसु दीवना ॥७॥ Mili▫o ṫis sarab niḋʰaanaa parabʰ kirpaal jis ḋeevnaa. ||7|| One is blessed with all treasures, when God, in His Mercy, gives them. ||7|| ਸੁਖੁ ਨਾਨਕ ਸੰਤਨ ਕੀ ਸੇਵਾ ਚਰਣ ਸੰਤ ਧੋਇ ਪੀਵਨਾ ॥੮॥੩॥੬॥ सुखु नानक संतन की सेवा चरण संत धोइ पीवना ॥८॥३॥६॥ Sukʰ Naanak sanṫan kee sévaa charaṇ sanṫ ḋʰo▫é peevnaa. ||8||3||6|| O Nanak! Service to the Saints brings peace; I drink the wash water of the feet of the Saints. ||8||3||6||
