ᴺirguṇ. 1. ਗੁਣ ਲਭਣ ਰਹਿਤ, ਤਿੰਨ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ। 2. ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਗੁਣ ਨ ਕਹੇ ਜਾ ਸਕਨ, ਅਕਥ। 3. ਗੁਣ ਵਿਹੂਣੇ। 1. attributeless, unmanifest. 2. unutterable. 3. without merit, meritless.
ਉਦਾਹਰਨਾ:
1. ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਨਾਮੁ ਨਿਧਾਨੁ ਹੈ ਸਹਜੇ ਸੋਝੀ ਹੋਇ ॥ Raga Sireeraag 3, Asatpadee 23, 7:1 (P: 68).
ਬ੍ਰਹਮੰਡ ਖੰਡ ਪੂਰਨ ਬ੍ਰਹਮੁ ਗੁਣ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਸਮ ਜਾਣਿਓ ॥ Sava-eeay of Guru Nanak Dev, Kal-Sahaar, 9:5 (P: 1390).
2. ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਥਾ ਕਥਾ ਹੈ ਹਰਿ ਕੀ ॥ Raga Gaurhee 4, 40, 1:1 (P: 164).
3. ਮਤੁ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਹਮ ਮੇਲੈ ਕਬਹੂੰ ਅਪੁਨੀ ਕਿਰਪਾ ਧਾਰਿ ॥ Raga Gaurhee 4, 49, 1:2 (P: 167).
ਮੋਹਿ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਕਉ ਪ੍ਰਭਿ ਕੀਨੀ ਦਇਆ ॥ Raga Gaurhee 5, 91, 4:3 (P: 183).

ਸੰ. ਨਿਰਗੁਣ. ਵਿ. ਮਾਇਆ ਦੇ ਸਤ ਰਜ ਤਮ ਗੁਣ ਤੋਂ ਰਹਿਤ। 2. ਸ਼ੁੱਧ ਬ੍ਰਹਮ. “ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਰਾਮ ਤਿਨੀ ਬੂਝਿ ਲਹਿਆ.” (ਆਸਾ ਪਟੀ ਮਃ ੩) 3. ਬਿਨਾ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ. ਗੁਣਹੀਨ. ਖ਼ੂਬੀ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਨਾ. “ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਨਿਸਤਾਰੇ.” (ਆਸਾ ਮਃ ੫) 4. ਕਮਜ਼ੋਰ. ਬਲ ਰਹਿਤ. “ਇਕ ਨਿਰਗੁਣ ਬੈਲ ਹਮਾਰ.” (ਗਉ ਰਵਿਦਾਸ).
